PearlEx Powdered Pigments

I just bought this kit of powdered mettalic pigments (series 1) and wondered how people use them? Do you mix them with clear glue, or laquer? What else could you use them for??

In the folder from the kit they mention using gum arabic and water to create a wash, they also mention using a Versamark pen. What is that?

Diane what great questions.. gum arabic is a compound like a wax that will make an oil painting like consistency paint.. clear glue and pigments can be used to create lots of diff things. A versa mark pen or stamp pad is a clear ink.. when stamped or written with versa mark pen.. the powders will adhere to this and not the surrounding areas..
There is some info on this at a how to site.. I know that these are on the list for reviews this month.... pm me with what you do, I would deff be interested...

I've also used it with my UTEE. I melted UTEE, poured it into a mold and then decorated my mold with Pearl Ex. I lighly reheat the decorated mold with my embossing gun to seal in the Pearl ex. (don't reheat too much, otherwise, you the UTEE will remelt and you will lose your molded shape.)

What type of moulds do you use for the UTEE? How heat resistant do they need to be? Do you put anything in the mould so that it comes out easily or does it just pop out?
