Ticket Stub Preservation

I am in the process of scrapping an 8 x 8 album with ticket stubs and photos from special sporting events (ie. CFL Grey Cup, watching David Beckham, Hertiage Classic) as well as Concerts I have been to.

I am wondering if anyone has any tips and/or techniques that they have used to preserve the coloring of the tickets? Some of the text on the stubs are fading away and I want to prevent this from fading further once I have them in the album.

Any Suggestions??

I don't have any suggestions but I'd like to know too. I've got a bunch from concerts and a few hockey games I'd like to scrap someday soon.

I'm wondering if spraying one of those archival mists is good for them?

krylon has a spray called make it acid free...it neutralizes the acid in the ticket stubs to keep them from fading and yellowing...not sure if that is what your looking for or not...

Shop around for Archival Spray. I saw one brand for forty something at M's today. I don't know how much I paid for mine at a lss, but I definitely know I didn't pay anywhere near $40!

clear contact paper. You can buy it at walmart in the kitchen secton. It is Duck brand and says right on the package it is safe for scrapbookers. Seal it both sides and scrap away!!

This may be a silly question, but what's contact paper?

I use 2 products by Ek Success . One is their Archival Mist which makes the paper acid-free; the second is their Bright Paper spray which is supposed to prevent the item from fading and help to retain its color.

I spray both sides, let them dry, then add them to my layout.

I found them to be expensive. But, I bought the tiny, 1.5 ounce can of each rather than the 5 ounce cans and they both have lasted a long time.

contact paper is like shelf paper. It is really sticky on one side and most has designs on the other but they do make a clear. I use it all the time to "laminate" anything I don't know is acid free like ticket stubs, newspaper articles, brochures, and other memorabilia.

if they're printed with heat (most tickets are now) then the laminator- if it's a heat kind- will turn the WHOLE thing black!
