Slice advice - cutting letters on background paper

I want to cut a title in the background paper of my layout using my Slice. I want to layer another paper behind the cut outs rather than paste the letters on top.

I practiced with a scrap, but I am having trouble lining up the letters so they will be uniform. Any advice for spacing that will be even? I will keep practicing on scraps until I find the right method.

I have a slice, but have never tried this!! It is a great idea!! I hope you are able to get it!! I can't wait to see!! There is a Slice thread in the forums now!! Maybe ask one of the girls over there!! I wonder if any of them have tried anything like this before??

Thanks for the note on the Slice forum on scrapbook.com. I haven't posted or visited much recently and missed it.

I think I devised a way to do it. I can cut out my letters using scraps. I'll lay them on my pages and make a mark where I should line up the blade when it is in its ready position.

It worked! It's not perfectly lined up, poor lightly hampered my ability to see the pin holes I punched in the glitter paper, but I got the effect I wanted and I'm really please with it.
