New fiskars rotary 12" trimmer

I was just wondering if anyone else has the new fiskars rotary 12" trimmer?? and if they like it.. or had any problem with it.. I just got mine, i ordered it off qvc, it is light weight, and i love the fact that the rail bar,locks down to help hold your paper in place, and it also has an aluminum surface that has easy to read measurements so you can easily cut a 3 x 5 and 2 x 3.5 etc.. It has a built in handle for easy carrying.. and a storage for extra blades.. It seems to cut really well and straight, I just have to get use to the rotary cutter, i am use to my regular fiskars slide cutter..

I have one, and I love it so far. It cuts very straight, and I love how the rail bar holds the paper in place as you cut. I used to use the regular Fiskars slide cutter, but it was almost impossible to get a straight cut!

Good to hear.. I also like that it is lightweight.. it looks heavy but not at all..

I just bought one last night and tried it and hated it. What am I doing wrong? It seems to me like it takes much longer to cut something simple. With my other Fiskars, it's just zip, zip, zip, zip. No bar to unlock, relock, etc.

Am I missing something. Do the other rotary cutters worth the same? Been thinking of the Cutterpede too.

I like my regular Fiskars cutter, never have trouble getting a straight cut, but what I don't like is that if you turn a piece of paper over and cut, it's leaves an "edge" on the paper. It's fine when it's on the backside, but kind of limits you on which direction you can use the paper.

What about the CM trimmer?

Hmmm...I'm not sure what's causing you trouble? I find my rotary cutter as quick and easy to use as my old regular Fiskars cutter. The only difference is that I have to push down on the blade to cut.

It's the locking/unlocking bar. It seems like it takes more time to lock it down, pull it back up, move your paper, lock it down, pull it back up.

I have tried my several times and I love it.. especially the weight of it, and the cutting diagram on the board, i use it all the time.. It does take just a hair bit more time by the locking bar, but I really like that locking bar,, i would rather it take more time, that way I know for sure, that the paper will not move and i diffently will have a straight line, and not to waste any paper... I give the fiskars a thumbs up...

I really like the locking bar, too. It just takes a little more effort to lock/unlock it, but I love knowing that my paper won't budge when I go to make a cut. More than once with my regular fiskars trimmer, the paper shifted while I was cutting and I ended up with a crooked edge.
