cricut, spellbinders or cuttlebug?

I just started to make cards, I'm thinking to buy a machine but I'm not sure which one will be the best to make cards. The cricut fonts size I think are to big for cards. Please give some feed back, thanks a lot.xiomara

I have BOTH the cricut AND the old red sizzix,,,,and I couldnt' do without EITHER of them,,,,

the cricut cuts my fonts, my shapes, etc for cards,,,,and I use my Paper Doll dress up cart LOADS for making kids cards,,,,,cute pirates and princesses and dragons, etc,,,,I love the cricut for making cards, but it's RARE I use the fonts on them,,,,,occasionally, though,,,,,I made a dinosaur children's card and inside I glued cricut letters that say RAWWRRRR.

Mostly, though, I use rubber stamp sentiments for inside my cards,,,,,,,

I use my sizzix red (similar to the cuttlebug) mostly for embossing,,,,,,

so it depends on what you want to DO with it,,,,if you can only choose one, and you enjoy making shapes for your cards, I'd stick with the cricut for now,,,,,,,eventually though, you may WANT a cuttlebug to emboss with (put paper through the cuttlebug in an embossing folder and it comes out with designs raised on the paper)

and I thought I was finished

you CAN cut shapes using the cuttlebug and dies for your cards,,,,,,AND the cuttlebug is much cheaper than a cricut,,,,,,

however, if you buy a die in a certain size, there's no way to make it larger or smaller,,,,,

with the cricut create (not the cheapest, and not the most expensive) I can cut things in any size I want up to about 8-11 inches, depending on the shape,,,,,,,

I have some snowflake dies that I use with my sizzix that I love,,,,,,,,but I wish I could make them bigger or smaller when I need to,,,,,no go, manual machines use dies that are one size,,,,and on the cuttlebug, that one size is pretty small. (I don't think it takes the Bigz dies, for example),,,,,,,

so if you have a couple hundred bucks to buy a machine, I'd spend my money on the cricut (and I'd go for the expression if you can possibly do so, otherwise, the baby bug or the create will serve you well) and spend a few bucks on some cute carts.

I just bought 2 snowflake sizzlet dies for my big red sizzix,,,,,

8 bucks. two shapes. one size.

I just bought a paper dolls cart for my cricut,,,I got it on sale for 30 bucks,,,,,HUNDREDSSSSSSSS of shapes, sizes, cute animals, etc etc etc,,,

so althought the cricut is more expensive, and the carts are more expensive than the dies,,,,,,

you'll be able to do far more with one cart than you can do with 4 dies!

I am in love with my Cuttlebug. As a cardmaker, I really would not use a cricut for much. I like stamping instead of die cuts for the focal point, that is just me. With a cuttlebug you can emboss and do die cuts and the Spellbinders are compatible with it! I use Spellbinders Nestabilities in mine on a weekly basis. LOVE IT!

I agree with Rusha, I love my Cuttlebug! I would be lost without being able to emboss and use my Spellbinders

Oh gosh. I have a Cricut, a Cuttlebug and a Sizzix...both the original red one and the sidekick. I love them all in different ways! I would say a Cricut is the best bank for your buck-especially if you get SCAL-then you will have access to zillions of fonts and images to cut. You can't do that with a Sizzix or Cuttlebug.

I think it really depends on what she wants to DO with it,,,,,,both camps have great points.

I have an Expression and a Cuttlebug. I don't use die cut fonts on my cards. I stamp, rub on, or print my sentiments. Stamping on the front is almost always my focal point so I don't use the cutesy die cuts from my cricut but I use shapes and border trims all the time. I use embossing folders and spellbinder dies with my cuttlebug.

I used my E to cut the stamped circle, the doily, and the rectangular leafy piece. The scalloped and embossed circles are spellbinders.

My husband just blessed me with a Cuttlebug tonight. He ordered it from HSN. I can't wait to use it. I'm hoping I will know how to work it. I love what everyone has done with it on the Provo Craft board. So I am hoping I can do similar things.

I love my Cricut! I took 2nd place at a Scrapbook Expo with a card I made with my Cricut Expression. The fonts can be done is so many different sizes. I get my cartridges off E-bay. Never have paid full price. There are so many ways to use them. Good luck with your card making!

I own the personal cricut, cricut expression, and the cuttlebug. I cut out images using my cricut machines because I can choose any size image I want for my cards. I use my cuttlebug for embossing certain images. I use clear stamps for my sentiments. Both the cricut machine and the cuttlebug are very nice scrapbooking and card tools to have.

I just got a Cuttlebug and so far I love it!! Have been wanting an embossing/die cutting machine forever! And the cuttlebug is so affordable for doing your basic die cutting and embossing! I got mine on sale at Micheal's for $47!! Can't beat it! My sister has a Cricut and it is very neat too! Does all kinds of things! Both would be great tools to have!!

I have a Cricut Expression and I LOVE it! A lot of the cartridges have basic cards that you can cut out with matching envelopes then you can decorate from there. You can cut it any size you want, which I think is a big plus and makes it very versatile.

I do want something to emboss with and am considering the Texture Boutique as it embosses only and does not cut. Does anyone have this machine? I was thinking about a Cuttlebug, but with the Cricut I don't really need another die cut machine. I know the Texture Boutique is also cheaper than the Cuttlebug. Any info?

I have the big shot by sizzix and love it I can run spellbinders, cuttlebug and sizzix through it. i would like an exression but can't afford i so i'm happy with my big shot.
