Need ideas for guys scrapbook

Hello everyone! I am new at scrapbooking and i an trying to make my older brother a scrapbook for his senior year. Some of my friends make scrap books and they are all so creative. I dont think i am very creative because i cant think of any ideas. Please anyone if you could send me ideas or anything that might help i would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

Hi Katie!

Welcome to the board! You know until yesterday I didn't think I was very creative. I looked at lo's (LayOut's) in CK (Creating Keepsakes) and Memory Makers Magazine and thought "I can't do that". But I went to my frist scrapbook expo and to my first class. What did I learn? That I could copy the page ideas being presented. But maybe I can't tie cardstock into knots, so I do something else.

I didn't want to make two rows of waves on a water page, so I made one.

ADAPTION! (did i spell that right?) Make it your own. Look at your friends pages and pick and choose what you like and then do it on your page.

So, get some good magazines and idea books. Check your local bookstore, in the crafts section of the books and the magazines. I'm sure there will be something to help you.

I think that it's great that you are making a scrapbook for your brother--I just finished my both my sons--one was of freshman year, the other 8th grade--a good book to get is the teenager scrapbooking by Creating Keepsakes--it has lots of ideas--your lss should have it or can order it for you--
Things I included in my sons books:

getting drivers license (does your brother have his own car)
cleaning out locker
friends
parties,
sports
academic awards
club pictures
spring break
homecoming (not old enough for prom--but your brother is)
girlfriend(one week after making my son's girl friend page, he broke up with her--I kept it in anyway)
any other vacations?
It helped that I teachin the same building where my oldest son goes--It was easy to stay on top of things--

What great ideas the last 2 posts had. I only have one thing to add. I would add a Family Tree Page, and then layouts of parents, one for each sibling, one for aunts and uncles, and one for grandparents. Those might not seem important now, but when those people are gone, their layouts become priceless. What a wonderful gift to your brother. When my father died I was able to color copy those parts of my own albums and send copied albums to my brothers. As it turned out those pics were the only ones my brothers had of our entire family and especially my dad. I guess it is a guy thing to not keep track of photos. Lucky they have us to do it for them. Hope this helps.
