I never thought to do so either. If I were to number them, I'd put it on the lower right had corner. What would be your rationale? I would think if you provided an index at the beginning so the viewer could skip right to the desired memory?
I've never numbered pages. I put them in the album chronologically and leave it at that. If I did number them, I'd title the album '50 Great Memories from Vacation" or something like that and put the numbers prominently on each page as the title.
Gluemore Girl... well my two year old grandson picked up one of his sister's full scrapbooks and dropped it.. the D rings popped open and they had a shower of layouts.. it was done chronologically so no problem putting it back together in a new album.. He's very interested in looking at these books and we're usually with him at our home. I am going to number the pages of these vacation books in the lower right corner, discretely as possible, "just in case".. Cindy good idea and will consider that for the next trip. Thanks ladies, happy Thanksgiving.
I put the number on the back of the layout. I do chronological books, books on each vacation, separate books for weddings, etc. So I tend not to scrap all of one topic before moving on to another because I get tired of the same colors/embellies/etc if doing a theme. So I have a list in a notebook of what order I am scrapping the photos in and a corresponding page number. As I scrap it I label it on the back - for example "2013-50" or "Orlando trip - 3" and then put them in a pile. About every month or so I go and file them in the appropriate albums.
I was taking Totally Tiffany's Get Organized Challenge on her website. She suggests you edit out photos that you just don't like or set a limit on the maximum photos per LO (for example she chose 6 photos on double page LOs). Then after the maximum # is set decide how many LOs you want to do and pitch any left over photos! I never imagined not scrapping all of my photos so I haven't tried this yet, but I think I'm going to try it and see if it helps me to not feel overwhelmed.
Also, I've never numbered my pages because I don't always scrap chronologically. My albums are set up in categories with color codes that I learned from Stacy Julian a long time ago. The categories are All About Us in green albums, Places We Go in brown albums, People We Love in pink albums, and Things We Do in Blue albums.
Each of the categories have sub-categories. For instance in All About Us I have a sub-category called All In the Family which has my husband (ex), my children, and me. Other sub-categories include individual sections or albums I call All About _____ (fill in the blank of individual). I have a sub-categories for Siblings, Parents, and Four-legged and Furry for our pets. You get the idea. The other 3 categories have sub-categories too. I really love this way of scrapping and don't feel pressured.
