Is anyone else thinking about NSD already?

  • Ppilgrim
I know, it's weeks away, but I like to plan ahead. I'm trying to think of a good challenge to post: preferably a quick and easy one folks can finish in one weekend. I've got a couple of nebulous notions at this point but I'm definitely open to suggestions. slightly_smiling_face emoji

8 weeks and counting. I am excited! It's never too soon to start planning. I always enjoy the assortment of challenges! And scrapbooking of course!

Use a magazine ad for inspiration (and post the ad with the layout). I just found a lemonade ad that I can't wait to use as my guide for a summer page. (also waiting for the TFTM challenge in April so I can use my special K&Co paper).

Create a mini (or whatever size) kit (paper, embellies, stamps, etc.) and make as many projects possible with just that kit (kind of like the How to Kill a Kit with Style challenge on YouTube). Maybe add a few freebies like plain cardstock or ink colors).

Use products and techniques that start with a particular word (Motherload occasionally incorporates this into her Daily Inspiration challenge) or name. (e.g., Stencil, Acrylic, Masking, Markers, Yarn)

Use something weird or unusual on your scrapbook page (I did a whisker and cat claw (the sheath) once)

Use a famous painting (or other art piece) as inspiration (e.g., Sunflowers by Van Gogh)

    Ran out of steam.

Wow Peggy your gals are really thinking ahead, when is it? I don't normally post a challenge, but maybe I should consider it. Carol I see its two months away. I hope sb does it up like they did two years ago. Not sure last year was quite as good. May have just been me though. Great suggestions Lis! I'll have to give this some thought.

Oh! I don't know what this is called...but start with one sketch and the first person (#1) lifts it. Then #2 lifts #1; #3 lifts #2; and so on.

Photo of something you normally wouldn't scrap and what it means to you...for example, I I took a picture of a cast iron skillet and journaled it (reminded my my grandma - she had one that was crusty and seasoned so perfectly...and she would make delicious pierogis in it. I don't remember her making anything else in it, just pierogis. And they would smell so good. )

Whew. I got lost there for a sec.

Make only shaker cards. (That idea is just for me!)

Great ideas Lis! I think your lift idea is called a Round Robin bird emoji. Last year I started participating in the #100dayproject. It is not the same as the 100 day challenge (it's for business). Last year I didn't do so great. I made to lofty of a goal. I got discouraged. I didn't do much of my challenge. eyeroll emoji I'm thinking of doing a forum for it this year. I'm not sure if it could be incorporated into the NSD or not. I'm going to brainstorm for a little bit and put it up before April. I may check interest in it.

Anyhow it starts in April every year. This year it starts on April 7th. This is the description from their website to explain it:

#The100DayProject is a free art project that takes place online. Every spring, thousands of people all around the world commit to 100 days of exploring their creativity.

Anyone can join (yes, that means you!). The idea is simple: choose a project, do it every day for 100 days, and share your process on Instagram with the hashtag #The100DayProject.

If you don't do social media you can still participate

Here is their website address if you want to check it out. https://www.the100dayproject.org/

I am thinking about it! Note, I said THINKING about it. I do Home Health, and could possibly be working that weekend. True, I can do 'something' when I get home, but we'll see.
