Laminating 100 pt chipboard?

  • Royall By Design
Has anyone attempted to do this? I am making a board book for a toddler so what ever I do needs to be toddler mouth friendly. I figured laminating each page would be the best thing but I am having trouble finding out if there are any machines that will actually do this and turn out ok.

No, I've never but it sounds like a good idea.

I recently laminated a recipe book cover using those cheep plastic cutting mats that you get at the dollar store. They are clear, with a hint of fog to them. You can get them 2 for a $1.00. Just use full sheet adhesive (not your tape runner or tear tape) like this: https://www.scrapbook.com/store/uc-adh-1029.html Cut your board to the proper dimensions, cover with your desired paper, then place your adhesive sheet down, lay the cutting mat down with the shinny side facing your adhesive and use a nice bone folder to burnish it real good. Even though the plastic mat is foggy, your paper will show through beautifully. Then take your craft knife and trim off the excess around your covers. Viola! You've got yourself a toddler proof book cover! Good luck with your project and have fun!
