Paper Rose Window Die

  • Joanne Stein
    Good morning,
I hope someone can help me. I am new to cardmaking and I just bought Paper Rose Window Die and it is not going completely through my stamping up mini die cut machine. I read somewhere I may need a shim. What is this and where do I get one? Thanks!

You can find shims here on SB.com, Amazon or by Googling - just be sure you measure your plate to make sure it'll fit through your machine. I have a number of Paper Rose dies and it's a hit or miss (frustratingly so!) but I'm too cheap to buy shims so I just use cardstock or cardboard. It's a bit of an experiment but once I get the right combo (usually it's a layer of cardboard and carsdstock), I tape or glue the stack (if it's a stack), label it and keep it with the die set so I don't have to play the game again. Now I just save different thicknesses of cardboard. You can also take regular paper and fold it down and use that.
