How to protect my photos in a non acid-free scrapbook!??

Hi everyone !
So I ordered this beautiful scrapbook to put my photos in and I am finding out it is not acid-free. Are there ways I can protect my photos while still being in this album? I was thinking maybe I could buy single photo pockets to put my photos in before sticking them on in the album, could this work? I feel like it would since it wouldn't touch the paper but I don't really don't know how deep acid penetrates or how it works. This is my first scrapbook and I really want to prolong the quality of my photos for longer than 20 years so any ideas would be super helpful.

Shame on that company for making a photo album that is not photo friendly.
Putting them in the single pockets might work if you are not planning to crop your photos to different sizes.
I will defer to others who I'm sure have more knowledge.
Scrapbook albums and products should be acid free and lignin free (so the colors don't fade).
Best of luck with this album. It sounds like it's a special one.

Hi DK, Can you tell us what kind of pages are in this photo album? Are they cardstock based, cardboard with sticky and a plastic flap, other? And how do you know it's not acid free? Is there a sticker saying so? And, last is this album irreplaceable to you? With a bit more information, we may be able to offer other suggestions. Thanks.

It is not self-adhesive either, and the product description says it has a "4-layer white card thick inner page" with a raised frame design on the border of each page to "better protect photos". So I believe it is cardstock based? I can send her a message asking if this is important. I really want to use this album because I already payed for a personalized embroidery on the cover, so I was hoping to find any ideas to use it while still protecting my photos. Like I said, I was thinking maybe I could buy single photo pockets to put my photos in before sticking them on in the album, but I don't really know how deep acid penetrates. Thanks DK. After reviewing the listing, it's clear that the "white card" paper is not cardstock. Frankly, I wouldn't hesitate to return this to the seller, despite the customization, as defective. Over time, a non-acid free book is guaranteed to drain the color from and yellow your pictures. I can't believe that she is recommending such an album for any type of photos. Memorabilia maybe. But even then, a non acid free book is likely to drain/dull the ink in pintables. If you'd prefer to use the album, then yes, by all means use photo sleeves to protect your photos from touching the paper. Your idea is an excellent solution. The lifted frame edge should provide enough room for sleeves without bulging the book out. I'm so sorry this has happened to to you as it was an expensive album. Wishing you the best in creating your first scrapbook.
