Welcome to the New Layouts and Cards for the months of November/December. We would also love to see any other project, photo or imported images you'd like to share with the group.

The rules for this thread are simple: Post a newly uploaded layout, card or project, get comments and give comments on everyone's pages. No "drop and runs" please. If you get love be kind enough to give love back. Since there are several people here, try not to flood the post with too many LOs or cards. Maybe 5-7 in any post and no daily limit. Follow SB.com instructions for downloading and linking your projects.
Come by and join the fun! This thread has gained a fairly regular following. We enjoy seeing new people come by to share their work and join in the fun! You can join in at any time. Just remember that it is more fun if you give love and get love too!
While this is a laid-back community of artists and crafts people sharing their work and support, it's not a place to just drop off work and not visit the galleries of others in the thread. We encourage you to enjoy all the marvelous talent and leave comments! Should you encounter a problem with another poster in this thread, please PM them directly to ask your question or resolve your issue. The hostesses are not referees and can't step in the middle for you.
This is a collaborative effort. We are rotating the job of hosting the thread. Included in the opening post is the schedule of hostesses over the next couple months. Please volunteer as it is the easiest job you will ever have!

  • Scrapperb2
I made it over to another month. Wow November already and I am sure some are thinking about the upcoming holiday, Thanksgiving. I have no idea what we will do. Halloween is over and I love seeing all the clever costumes. The blow-up dinosaur and squidward I don't see how they can walk. This morning the temp dipped to 24 degrees and hopefully the sun will shine to warm things up. The heat just kicked on ugh---they filled up the tank on Monday.
Terry----thanks for hosting, and I tried to add you to my FB friends, but I couldn't seem to find the correct Terry. Mine is Linda Bouchard, hope to connect
Cathe----At the end of the month I go back to get the eye exam for new glasses. I think my eyes will show improvement, hopefully Every time I go it seems they find another problem. It is always nice to be back home after a trip. I also couldn't connect with you on FB friends but wouldn't let me, my name is Linda Bouchard
Denise----I successfully added you to my FB friends, beautiful photos. Did the kiddos go out for Trick or Treat?
    Jane----thanks for hosting

Hello Danielle, Cheryl, Anna have a great day

  • Rockmom
    Hello.
Good Linda, I'll look for you on fb.
Cathe, yes it was chilly. Warmer today.
Yard guys came today. Our grass is still totally green. There is no color on the trees and none have fallen.

Cheryl, me too. I could have given out candy but usually we have so few it's not worth the hassle.

Yes the kids went out. The 4 cousins together.
  • Scrapperb2
This is a card I made for my sister Trish
  • OnlyJane
    Good afternoon, Wednesday
This day seems to be flying by. Did some errands, got a few things at the grocery store. Just got off the phone with my eye dr.'s office and the girl is going to work on getting the appointments setup for cataract surgery starting in January. You have 90 days to complete your surgery, they schedule both eyes to be two weeks apart. If it isn't completed within the 90 day frame you have to have another evaluation (insurance rules). So now will wait until she gets things booked.
Halloween had tons of kids in our neighborhood, I hid out due to the fact the dog would be barking all night. Only one group actually knocked on the door. At one point the street was filled with people, looked as if a bus load was dropped off. We had lot of people who sold their homes and young people with kids have moved in. Not many of us old timers left.
Aria stopped by for a short time. She was so excited about Trick or Treating. I need to ask dil again what they were as they left so quickly. They were helping for an event at the place where Aria does PreK, if you do three events for them you get a discount on tuition so Suzanne signed up. On Friday we will go over to their house to celebrate Aria's birthday with us and her other grandparents.
Denise it was 31 in the morning, and now it is 47. It really feels cold because of a breeze. Tonight should be cold again.
Terry thanks for hosting until the end of the year. You can put me down for Sept/Oct if you want. Baxter does not seem to mind the cold, he gets out and does not want to come back in, meanwhile I am freezing.
Linda very pretty card you made.
Danielle nice to see you back. From time to time, our computers have said not connected to the internet. I think all we had to do was reconnect them per instructions from the computer. You may want to check with your internet provider as they may be having some problems. Need to look at your latest projects.
Cheryl Did Izzy have fun at her Halloween party at school?
    Anna hope your doing well.
Cathe hope your trip back is going well. Bet you will be so happy to be back and get into your routine.

Getting time to feed Baxter and find something for me to eat.
Have a good rest of your day and evening, stay safe, it is so crazy out anymore, just unbelievable.

  • Scrappin 2
Reading in the car on my phone. Have about 4 more hours of driving. We're in Illinois but it is such a long state!

Linda- I will see if I can find you on fb

Denise- how fun for the cousins to be together.

Jane- glad you got to see Aria.

Cheryl glad you didn't have to take kids Trick or Treating
Too bad we couldn't come see you as we went by Paducah. Thought of you.

Daniele I will look at your latest cream when I'm on the computer. They look great.

    No Anna for days?

Linda- I have an eye appointment tomorrow. I'm concerned about my left eye.

    Terry- hi
  • Anna C

    Evening ladies!

Oh it has been so cold here today and gonna be even colder tonight….down in the teens they say.

Terry, glad you had a great trip! Loved the pics you shared on FB. Glad you made it to Biltmore but I had no idea the price had gone up so much!

Cheryl, sounds like you had great trip with the Grands. Enjoyed your photos on FB. No trick or treaters here either. Glad your grandkids all got to go out together.

Cathe, sounds like you have had a great trip and were very productive at the crop! Hope your weather isn't too cold when you get back to your home.

Jane, we only made it to the 30s today but did have some sunshine. Glad you got to see Aria on Halloween.

Danielle, glad you are back with us. Great card and book that you made.

Linda, I did look for you on FB but there are quite a few of you with the same name so I wasn't sure which one was you. What does your profile pic look like? Sounds like your weather is colder than ours. It was 26 here this morning.

Our heat pump went out so it has been quite chilly at home. Thankfully, they are installing a new unit tomorrow. Life has been very busy and trying to get Mom and Dad to all of their appointments is quite the job…..just not enough time in the day to get everything done.

Hope you all have a great evening!

  • Terry0773
Good chilly morning. Actually it's 50 deg but the rains are back and humidity is high. I have a PT in a few hours and I'm hoping he'll tell me I'm down to 1 appt for maybe 2 more wks. I did get full bend on Monday after he manipulated and massaged those muscles. Yesterday I saw my reg dr who was thrilled with my A1C number but we spent the majority of the visit talking about his mom and her back issues. I did get the flu shot too and that arm itches.
While in Costco on Tues, we saw one of those Blackstone grills and Steve went nuts. He doesn't want the big one but the 22 inch size. I ordered it up online and they will deliver his Christmas present to Danny's house. That's a relief to find something for him. Now just little things. His Christmas isn't going to be normal since he can't eat and surgery is the next day.
Now speaking of Christmas is everyone in for the card exchange? Anyone need addresses? Any address changes?

    • Anna: Boy isn't it scary when those heat pumps bomb! The price knocked me for a loop but this one should last another 15 yrs which is longer than I'll be in this house I'm sure. I hope your parents are feeling alright and no major issues! Right now the Biltmore is a sore subject for me because of something my sister told SIL in a text. Made me angry and very hurt. So I'm glad that the trip is over but I'm not sure when I'll talk to her again. I need to forget that part but it will take time. Anyway, yes it was very spendy, you only got to see the 2nd floor and the tours were booked up so no info from that. Didn't seem worth it to me.
    • Cathe: Hoping you are now home but I'm sorry it will be to cold weather. I saw the photos that Denver got of snow and that's quite a bit for this early in the season. What's wrong with your eye? Have you had any communications thru the Grands page with Judy?
    • Cheryl: I bet the kiddos had a ball on Halloween. Our town has a mile long or so Main street and all the businesses give out candy so the kids all walk that rather than go to houses. Parents are with them and there are hi-school volunteers that man the crosswalks to make it safe. I'm 3/4 mi out of town so we've never seen kids. Danny said that his 2 little dogs got used to the Ring noise and started barking before the kids ever got to the door.
    • Danielle: good to have you back and I'll go visit your gallery today. Sorry about computer/internet problems. Always frustrating!
    • Denise: Is it warming up yet? Was it fun seeing all 4 of them dressed up?
    • Jane: Are you having to have both eyes done? Our little dogs are making this morning trip to the far end of the neighbor's pasture to do their business. Right at the time our dr leaves his mom's house for work. Thankfully he is always watching the little ones! I made chicken enchiladas last night and thinking maybe breakfast for tonight. I also need to start planning my meals for when Steve can't eat. Like he said it isn't the sight of the food it's the smell of the cooking that will be most bothersome. Is Bob out of town?
    • Linda: Like Anna said, I looked you up but saw 5 different ones and I couldn't tell which one was you if any were. My avatar is a selfie of me with sunglasses on and red hair.

Time to get ready as I have 30 min before leaving. BBL
  • Southernlady2

Thursday afternoon! I am going to dinner with my former office mate. We are meeting for Chinese food. i made the card below last night but didn't get it posted.

Cathe - I bet you are happy to be home. How cold is your weather? It has been in the uppers 20s the last two mornings here.

Danielle - Glad to see you back to posting!

Terry - Yes, I am in for Christmas cards. I am pretty sure I still have all of the addresses.

Anna - Glad to see you posting too. Sorry about your heat pump going out. I can only imagine how busy you are with your parents' appointments.

Linda - I can't believe Thanksgiving is only 3 weeks from today.

Jane - Good look with getting it all booked.

Denise - I am ready to be done with mowing!! I think I can be plus I have had a mole in my yard.
  • Terry0773
Good morning! My mind was quite last night so I slept until 8am. Very unusual! John, the PT guy, cut me loose yesterday---Yipee! But I have to continue exercising and stretching to keep it going. Also back to cupping but not everyday. What a long road this one was!!

With all this wonderful rain the grass is growing like crazy again and I do need to go out to get rid of some blackberry vines that are taking over some bushes. I hate yardwork. Most of today will be cleaning and getting that TV/ internet/ satellite/ TVapps all figured out. I do not want to pay for both. And when we do then I can also cancel the phone landline. All said switching over will save us $150 a month at least.

I read yesterday that the second part of Season 5 of Yellowstone will air ---ready for this---November 2024! Who will even remember what went on in the first part of Season 5?

    Have a good one...

PS___Linda--I found you by going to Denise's friends list and I sent you a friend request ---at least I think I did.

  • Rockmom
Terry, I've heard those Blackstones are nice! Yes, keep that knee moving! Sounds like a bonus to save $150 a month!! Yippee

I hear ya on the yard Cheryl. Our mowers are quite reasonable at $25 a time and they do a good job. Just ready to stop paying for a few months. Usually stop Dec., Jan, and Feb. By March we usually need to mow again.

I'd like to do the Christmas Card swap again. No address change here, we are the same.

Danielle, did you get your hair done? I need to shampoo mine. I don't do it but weekly because it's too dry and I like to limit exposure to the chemical aspect due to allergies.

Wow, that's a long wait for that show! Wonder why?

  • Southernlady2
    hello and good morning

well today is a cool day here. well walk Bella today this morning. Later on going to the grocery store. nothing much eles going on here today. well i have to wait for the bug guy to come here then after they are done is go to the grocery store.

Denise- no i haven't got my hair done yet. i just usually get my hair done in the winter time and spring time.

hope everyone has a nice friday
  • Scrapperb2
This morning was chilly at 25 degrees, the days in the 50's-60's. I fell asleep right away last night and dH woke me up to go to Maine for the monthly meat sale. It is about an hour away. We needed all beef this time and the meat is fresh cut and packaged. Stocked up on ground chuck as I want to make and freeze 5 meatpies. Got a few baking supplies also. Pork chops tonight. Football tomorrow.
My BIL has taken a turn for the worse. He is now on dialysis, and a breathing machine. Can't eat or insert a feeding tube, don't know why. Anyway it keeps a person on edge.
Terry I will look for you on FB. Nice you are out of PT. I agree yardwork is tiring and the older we get the harder it gets.
Danielle---hope you had a nice walk with Bella. I hope you get some good buys at the grocery store

I would like to do a Christmas card swap, what I need are names and addresses. You cannot DM me as it doesn't work. my e-mail address is:
[email protected] and my address is Linda Bouchard, 839 Sixth Avenue, Berlin, N.H. 03570
    TTUL,
  • Scrappin 2
    Friday
I spent the day doing wash and not much else. I ran into town and got more paint chips at Sherwin Williams and Home Depot. I have always liked Behr paint from Home Depot and it is cheaper than Sherwin W.

Anna- sorry the heat pump went out. We are having our furnace inspected on Monday. Nothing is wrong with it and I hope he says it is A-OK. We've had this guy for years and he's honest. I remember working and thinking that there weren't enough hours in the day. Deep breaths.

Danielle- Have fun choosing gifts for everyone. I'm sad that I no longer have little kids to buy for. Casey will just order things for Oakley, Kian and Rayn and have them sent to her house since we will be flying...........no fun in that.
I think a meat bundle would be much appreciated as a gift. Good idea. Once Casey asked what to get her dad and I suggested a meat box from Omaha Steak, her reaction indicated that I was crazy and she said "A box of meat?" so obviously she didn't want to get him a box of meat. LOL

Linda- sorry to hear about your BIL.
Did you get all the meat you wanted?

Terry- Good news about the knee progressing so well. Glad you had a good report on the A1C.
Sad that the Biltmore prices was so high. We roamed all over the place with headsets. The headsets were $9 to rent but worth it. I don't remember what admission was at that time.
Steve won't order that grill for himself will he?

Denise- can you find a shampoo that doesn't have chemicals in it? (or ones you can tolerate)
I think washing hair too often takes all the oils out of them.

Eye check up- They are about the same as last times so no need to change prescriptions. Darn. I wanted new frames.
I'm going to use a gel drop at night for dry eyes. I used them last night and my eyes were not as sandy or blurry this morning.

Cheryl- Our temp was 52 today, but cloudy. Not bad at all.
Darling card you made out of the card kit we got at the crop. I haven't even gotten my stuff unpacked. I want to scrap.
Van broke up with Clara. So I don't quite know what to do about scrapping Homecoming for her. I know I will use the photo of her with her family. There is one of Clara, Van and her brother and perhaps I'll scrap that. I don't know about a 4x6 picture of her and Van. I wish I knew why he broke up with her.

Jane- it was good to get back to my routine. Doing wash and making sandwiches for lunch felt good. It will probably last three days of wanting to do that. LOL
Rum has his second cataract surgery next Thursday. It is amazing how the doctors can do that so quickly and efficiently.

I'm in for the Christmas card exchange. I have everyone's address.

  • Cdjohnson
Friday afternoon! I am glad it is the weekend. I have laundry to do and not looking forward to setting the clocks back. Zoey and Zeke are not coming tonight because their step-sister has RSV. They are coughing too, and I didn't want them bringing germs here.

Cathe - It is good to get back to a routine.

Linda - Sorry about your brother-in-law.

Danielle - Glad you had a good walk with Bella.

Denise - I do my own mowing for now. I am sure at some point I will hire it done.

Terry - Glad you were released from PT. What a long time for the next season to start. I can hardly wait for the 2 Christmas episodes that are coming out November 30 for Virgin River.

    Hello to everyone else!
  • Scrapperb2
Friday night and I am in bed already as I am exhausted. The running around is catching up with me. I am quite worried about my sister not taking care of herself and wish I could be there for her. This is when living so far away is hard on me. We want to go but I have a lot of upcoming appointments. Anyway....
Cathe---so gift giving is so difficult these days. Gosh a meat gift would've been greatly appreciated. The grandchildren only want money and my kids don't want us to buy them anything as they get what they want throughout the year. It is good your eye checkup was great.
I did get everything I wanted and a few extras.

    Goodnight

  • OnlyJane
    Good evening, Friday
Nice, sunny day, got up to 51 after a low of 31. Tomorrow should be about the same.
Am tired tonight, we did go over to ds's house for Aria's birthday. She was not feeling well and was coughing. She enjoyed all of us being there and opened her gifts but you could tell she was so tired. Tomorrow is her birthday party with her friends, about 11 kids so hope she feels better to enjoy her party. Bob and I both feel like we got exposed to many germs but that is what happens being around little ones especially when they start going to school.
Terry so glad you got released from PT. Sorry your sister said things she should have not said. Is she the one who caused problems in the past? People can be mean for whatever reason. Hugs to you.
Danielle hope you find what you want for gifts for family. I have a hard time finding gifts for Aria, she has so many toys, etc.
Cheryl hope Zoey and Zeke do not get sick, but good they are staying home. You, dd, and Izzy don't need to get sick.
Denise, we will be mulching leaves now, ds does mow our grass most of the time but sometimes he can't. I do pay him. Everyone doing ok at your house?
Anna glad your doing good. Sorry about the heat pump having to be replaced. Our gas furnace and a/c unit is getting old, and most likely will need to be replaced before long.
Cathe hope you find a color you like with getting the new paint chips. Glad your eyes are doing well. Good luck to Rum for his next eye surgery.
Linda so sorry your bil is not doing well at all. I know you wish you could be with your sister but you do have to take care of yourself and keep up with your appointments. Hope you sleep well tonight.

This afternoon I got a call from the eye dr. that I will have surgery on the first eye January 18th and the second eye will be February 1st. I think it is January 12th that I meet the surgeon and fill out necessary paperwork. The anxiety has started, ugh!

Enjoy the rest of your evening everyone!

  • Anna C
May be an image of text that says 'Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour tonight. Enjoy that extra hour! 12 6 Messages From The Road'

    Good morning and happy Saturday!

Linda, I did the same thing that Terry did. I found you on Denise's page and sent you a friend request. My profile pic is our shadows and my cover photo is water and sunset. Hope your eyes are doing well. So sorry about your BIL. Wonder why they can't insert the feeding tube?

Terry, I saw the same thing about Yellowstone. So disappointed! When do the Chicago shows come back? I haven't seen anything on them yet. The writers strike has really put everything behind! Those Blackstones are really nice. We'd like to have one too and maybe a smoker. I am going to participate in the Christmas card exchange but my cards will not be handmade this year. I haven't made the first card this year. Glad your knee is doing so well and PT is over. Will it be a challenge for you to keep up with the PT yourself at home? Talk it out with your sister---life's too short!

Cheryl, our last mowing was early last week. No more mowing here. We've already had two big killer frosts so the growing season here is done until Spring. I am right there with you on Virgin River!! I'm looking forward to the last two episodes! Do you watch Sweet Magnolias? I saw where they renewed for a fourth season.

Cathe, we have our heat pump inspected every year which was required by our warranty. After our warranty ran out, we continued with the annual inspection, and will do so with this new one. The same company and men have always done it too. Hopefully, this new one will last us out! Get caught up on all of your laundry?

Denise, I wish I could get by washing my hair once a week! It's an everyday thing for me. Wash, dry, and style! I get so tired of it! When I get up in the mornings, my hair is going in all directions so I have to wash it to get it tamed down; otherwise, I would look like some kind of crazy!!!

Jane, I hope Aria isn't sick today and able to enjoy her birthday party. Glad you have your eye surgery all lined out. I know you will be glad to have it behind you. Your temps are warmer than ours. We have been in the low 20s and I think we may have hit 50 yesterday. Today is supposed to be much warmer.

We had some cold temps the last few days. Glad to finally have some heat! Our leaves are all gone too. Makes me sad. Got Mom to her oral surgery on Thursday. She is having her teeth removed. She has had nothing but problems with her teeth since she took that Prolia shot. Getting them all pulled or cut out. Several broke off down to the gum so they have to be cut out. They have several appointments this month so it will be another busy month trying to work and get them to their appointments. My sister had surgery last week and is out of commission for a good while. Dad has to have more laser surgery on his eye this month and my brother has COVID again. We've been doing at home covid tests to make sure we are clear. And trying to figure out Thanksgiving. I think this year we are going to order out with Bob Evans. Never done that before. Have you all?

if I come up missing this month, please know I want to be here more regularly but time isn't always on my side.

Have a great day and set those clocks back tonight!

  • Terry0773
Morning Ladies! Today I will clean as yesterday I just didn't want to. Steve & I spent 3 hours trying to set up that new Safelink satellite system and the YouTube TV, which is where all the channels will come from but it sent us into loops that did nothing. Finally found a way to call to get it all straight but now we are back again with another new email for Google etc. What a headache!!!!

    • Anna: I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's teeth! That's awful. And your brother has Covid again? No wonder you have no time or energy! It was hard on me fighting with her as she's always been special to me. However, when I told her how it hurt me that she indicated I was an invalid and spoiled her tour at Biltmore, she turned the whole thing around on me. I was to blame, etc. Not true. However, since her hubby cheated many times, her divorce where the settlement wasn't equitable, her daughter living in a cult environment, etc. she's become "poor me". Nothing can be her fault. Eventually I'll talk to her but right now I'm hurt and I just want distance from her. And time..... Check in when you can and take care of you!
    • Cathe: If that grill were on Amazon he might!! I don't think he knows you can order directly from Costco online. It should be delivered to Danny's house today. Good luck to Rum on his eye surgery! I think having a box of prime meat as a present is a great idea!!! Years ago when the boys were 13 & 8 we flew back to CO for xmas. It was hard but at that time the airlines had no chrg for luggage. We took an extra one just for presents. I really know the feeling about not having kids to buy for. I send money to Aaron & family but I buy stuff for Danny & Emma. What color?
    • Cheryl: sure can't blame you not wanting RSV in the house! Everywhere I went in NC people were coughing. That inc my sister who got sick the day before we left, my SIL, niece & new hubby were all hacking. I'm lucky I walked away without catching any crud!!!
    • Danielle: So the she shed is totally done now? I do like the meat box idea for a present.
    • Denise: I do the hair wash every other day & sometimes 3 days but I also wear hats or wigs when I go out so it really doesn't matter. Get a wig!!! I wish mowing our lawn would be only $25. Last time it was done because we were gone for 3 wks (2019) it cost me $150 every time they mowed. Can't pay for that all the time!
    • Jane: Poor Aria! I hope she has fun at the bd party today. My sister who caused all the problems is the one that passed away over a year ago. Like I said above this one is now on this "poor me" bus and there's no reason for it. She's never handled diversity or upsets well. But now it all has to be someone else's fault. When she threw it all back at me, I just turned my back and said whatever. It goes where it goes. Good luck to UT today!
    • Linda: I will email you the list of addresses for everyone as well as putting you on the list. Glad you will be joining the fun! I buy meat a month at a time too at our fav meat market. I wonder what or why the med staff can't get a feeding tube in your BIL. I am so sorry about his health and hoping he gets relief soon.

Time to run and get stuff done.

    Hello all.

Getting ready for the children's consignment sale. It's a lot of work but worth it.

Also making a roast and veggies and a salad for our neighbors. She has been in the hospital for a week and got to come home. She was discovered to have an autoimmune disease that affects her respiratory system. It's horrid for her, she coughs and coughs.

Anna sorry about your mom's teeth. I surely understand how unsettling that is. No problem about store bought cards. It's just fun to hear from each of you.

Cheryl, I used to mow our yard years ago. Not anymore.

Terry, nothing is easy anymore. Glad yiu got it figured out.

Danielle. Is your she shed finished now?

Jane, I get the nerves. Just breathe. I'd be a wreck.
  • Scrappin 2
Saturday evening. It is 53*. It was a beautiful day. I told myself to go for a walk but I didn't. I did get some steps in when I ran errands. I really need to loose some weight. (sigh)

Jane- don't be nervous for cataract surgery. It is a piece of cake.
I sure hope Aria was ok and enjoyed her party. Was she able to have the party?
Kids nowadays have so many toys. I know my cousin gives her grandchildren "experience" tickets..........and or pays for lessons of some kind. I loved giving a gift, whether the kids needed it or not. I do know I started out giving too many gifts as I only had Nev for 5 years. I should have given one or two and called it good.

Denise- nice of you to make your neighbor a meal. I swear medical staff labels ailments as autoimmune disease for lack of knowing what it actually is.
Hope you sell all you want to get rid of, and make a little money.

Linda- Is your sister older than you?

Cheryl- Glad Zeke and Zoey stayed home if they were coughing, I bet they wanted to come though. How old is their step sister?
Is Virgin River a Netflix show?

Anna- I might not get cards made either.LOL But i did buy a Stampin Up set to use, so I had better.
We've never ordered Thanksgiving dinner from anywhere. I can see though that it would be a good thing for you to do this year. You have enough to take care of!!
Interesting your mom had trouble with her teeth after that Prolia shot. I refused it when the doctor wanted me to take it. He almost insisted since I had a fracture when I fell. I told him "I fell on concrete!", he said it shouldn't have broken. I am not going to go to him every again.

Terry- I get waiting a bit to talk to your sister. I would have to let the hurt die down too.
Oh gosh....setting up electronics is NOT my thing. Rum is still good at it, thank heavens
You were lucky to not get the creeping crud.
I got two paint samples this morning and put them on the wall, doing two coats. I think I've found a paint color........Behr......Perfect Taupe.

Danielle- I hope you are having a nice day.

Morning! Yesterday Steve got everything working except now we know that my office TV is just too old for these smart TV things. But surfing them at Best Buy, I was amazed that I can get the right size smart tv for $140. We might drive over there today.
I'm learning a new thing on PS called generative fill. Plus I needed to try and get DB & wife into another photo because walking down the aisle they both had their eyes closed when I took the photo. Seems I was the only one that did take a photo and with the cell phone. So I'm copying them from the family photo, flipping them horizontally, shrinking the size of them, and hopefully this all will result in a good photo.

Anna: are you going to watch the new T. Sheridan series tonight: Bass Reeves? I've also read that at least 2 more spinoffs are coming from Yellowstone. I haven't heard about that T-day dinner place. Cooking it for 4 people is a waste of time. Hours to get it done and 15 min to eat. Then hours to clean up. I hate the whole process now and there's no one to take it over. I'd rather go out to eat!
Cathe: I googled that color and it is a pretty color under the natural tones. I can see lots of colors going with it. When will you paint? I buy the kids too much too and always have. But now that they are older it sure doesn't get much for them. Back in 1998 when Aaron n Angelyn got married and I was working I spent $500 each for the 3 of them at Christmas. I bought her 3 sets of her China pattern and several other smaller items. She stunned me to no end by telling me that I could take back the garlic oven cooker ($8) but then never not once did she thank me for anything else. Unbelievably rude!
Cheryl: how are the kiddos feeling? Just wanted to tell you that next Oct the national dog event is going to be held in Paducah's surrounding areas. I don't know if it will be on private grounds or a reserve.
    Danielle: hi
Denise: Do the kids pick out there own stuff to sell? Toys as well as clothes?
Jane: I'd be worried about cataract surgery too as I hate the thought of someone messing with my eyes. But it has to be done right? Will Bob be gone next week?
Linda: did you get my email?

Take care n have a great Sunday!

  • Rockmom
Terry, with the help.of their mom, they choose outgrown toys to sell. Their mom.and I choose their outgrown clothes. Sometimes there is pushback but if it is too little for them there is no choice. They always get new bigger size clothes and even toys so they are happy.

Morning! Have a dr apt today and Steve is meeting with the tree guy to chop down 4 more trees. Plus our neighbor has 4 to do as well. One of the trees is about 80 ft tall, no branches, and is in the forest where there's evergreens all around it. This will be interesting to see.

Denise: When Aaron was between 5 and 11 he was addicted to Star Wars toys. Holy moly there were so many inc that enormous Milennium Falcon I got him for Christmas. Well, he wanted a bike so he decided to sell all the Star Wars stuff. Danny who was just getting into it went bonkers and wanted it all. So I ended up buying the stuff twice!!!! Moving up here shorty afterwards, there was an extra room that Danny grabbed as his "war room" and he had battles between star wars & GI Joes. Now I wish I had some of those original Star Wars figures & boxes as they are worth a ton of money!!! And years later, Aaron was working for Microsoft in the X-Box division as a producer with the Star Wars games. He's been to Skywalker Ranch, met Steven Spielberg, dressed up in a real storm troopers outfit for filming one of the promos, and met most of the orig cast. I cannot believe how fate played a part with $3 figurines!!!
Do you ever save a special toy or outfit???

    BBL.

Good afternoon, Monday the start of another week
Beautiful, we expect a warm week, right now it is 74 with lots of sunshine! It gets dark so quick now since we changed back the clocks, ugh, no evening for being outside after dinner. Weekend went by fast, not much going on, seemed just the same ole routine as usual. Today started a small amount of Christmas shopping, apparently everyone else was doing the same. Decided to scale back some this year, no one really needs much of anything. However, I am sure will buy plenty for Aria. She was feeling better for her party and had a good time. DS sent me a photo of what the house looked like in the area where the toys were (the kids were suppose to be mostly outside) on my goodness, someone just dumped everything on the floor so you had a mixture of items, Someone broke her dump truck. I think there are two little boys who are known to do things like this but they are always invited to the neighborhood parties. I do believe I would start thinking about having them over, I mean dang they have a parents or parents with them.
Terry wow on another tall tree to take down, it always amazes me how they do them. I kept all the Lego's from the boys, lots of metal toy trucks, etc. We had Star wars, not sure what happened to them, maybe garage sales. There were Transformers, lots of those little metal cars and accessories. Still have a big race track set that needs to go to one of their houses. Older son collected lots of NASCAR items, his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr. Think he ended up selling most of it with the exception of a couple of the cars. Chris wasn't that big into NASCAR but had a few Bill Elliott items. I do have a few outfits from when the boys were little, couple of stuffies, first shoes, couple of blankets, everything is in the hope chest. Did you get your new tv?
Denise did you sell lots of things at your sale? Use to love going to those sales when the boys were little, got lots of nice toys and clothes for good prices. Nice of you to make a nice meal for your neighbors!
Cathe are you back in your regular routine now? It always takes me a few days after traveling to get back to a normal day. Is it this Thursday that Rum has his eye done? I need to stop by my dr's office tomorrow and get the paperwork on all the procedures, ect. Have you been watching any of the new Hallmark movies, everything now is Christmas. Our internet/cable company is giving us the Great American Family network again, I guess for the Christmas season, so now 3 channels of movies, help...overload.
Anna I feel for your Mom getting her teeth out, is she getting implants also? How is your brother doing, that dang Covid is never going to go away it seems. I can see where you are so busy working and helping get your parents to their appointments, etc. Hope your week is a good one. Remember take care of yourself too!
Cheryl hi, hope your week goes well. Are the kids doing ok after being exposed to RSV?

    Hi Danielle, Judy and Linda.

Enjoy the rest of your day/evening.

  • Scrappin 2
Monday, I've had a rather busy Sunday and Monday.
Guess I'm back into the swing of things.

Jane- I did start watching Hallmark Christmas movies. I saw the one that was on Sunday night called Santa Summit. I applaud Hallmark for trying a different plot, but I felt it was weak.
Sure glad Aria felt better for her party. Tough spot to be in to invite or not to invite the neighbors. Soon tho she can just have a party with her girl friends from school. Are there girls her age in the neighborhood. I'd be mad if someone broke my child's toy on purpose or just not respecting his/her things.

Terry- Aaron's job sounds so interesting. Star Wars toys are hot. I have a book. LOL
You just don't know what toys to keep and what to get rid of.
I think Doug had a bike shield signed by Tommy Hawk. He wishes he still had that. Tommy Hawk is a BMX trick bike rider.
I bought the wall paint today. Now, I wanted the ceiling to be a very light color of the wall color. I looked it up online. They said to make it 80% and 20% the color. Well the young man at Home Depot looked at me like I had two heads. He said he never heard of that. So when I got home I called the other Home Depot and the young women in that paint dept. said they could do it. But that Home Depot is far from us......well 30 min. away. I'm calling the Home Depot near us tomorrow and see who is working in the paint dept.
It will be interesting what you get charged to take down that 80 ft tree!
Yes, Thursday Rum gets his cataract done.

Hi to all, catch you tomorrow.

  • Scrapperb2
Monday pm, finished eating steak, onions, pepper cheese sub. I don't know why I am so tired all of the time. Today I continued cleaning in the kitchen. I washed the big window the cats sit in with their nose all over it, the sill, the floor, etc. Rene surprised me by doing the inside of the fridge since there isn't a lot in it. Next the washer/dryer area. My BIL is holding his own, the dialysis has helped, and today they finally were able to get a feeding tube in. That was good news, he is on the 3rd week of being there. Tomorrow, I go see my Respiratory doctor. I need a new inhaler prescription sent to Canada. I cleaned off my scrap table, what a mess I make, but to be creative I need a mess.
I go to get my new prescription for eyeglasses in Dec. also I need to finish the drops all three bottles. I can't see with my glasses out of my left eye, the right not so bad and reading is terrible. Sometimes I use a magnification to see things.
Cathe--Do you have something special you need done to your eyes? How is Rum? It is nice to be back home and get back to normal.
Terry---I did get all of the addresses you sent, thank you very much. I am so glad your knee is doing well. Cutting down trees can get pricy. I'm glad we did that over the summer. As far as toys go, I did keep a lot of the best toys, I think because I am sentimental. I kept all of Kevins Star Wars Leggo sets, and he took them to his house, and my GS Allen collects them as well. I also have the collection of transformers including the Voltron. Carrie kept all of the Strawberry shortcake dolls and the house that went with it. She also has a collection of Cabbage Patch dolls. Kevin has his trumpet, Carrie had the flute and piccolo, but she has neither and they weren't cheap! I have a few things in my cedar chest along with my wedding gown.
Jany--oooo Christmas shopping, I remember those days of going nuts trying to figure what to get everyone. Now my list is so short, just money gifts and a few things I order and have it sent out West. So glad Aria was better for her BD party.
Cathe---yes my sister Trish is almost two years older than myself. Since she was mean to me, our relationship has not been the same. I don't call every day like I used to, but I try to "play nice" with her. Sometimes she is still snippy on the phone so I try to be careful with what I say. Good to be back in the swing of things.

Well I better scoot, my sleeping is not very good and I don't know why
  • Rockmom
Mostly we save special books and an occasional outfit or toy. Things that will hold up to time. I have the kitchen my grandfather made me and a metal table and chair set my parents got me or rather Santa got me at age 2. Sadie plays with that kitchen my grandfather made. He was a carpenter. We saved some barbies to pass down, they are on their last leg now after nearly 65 years. I had one with a set of three wigs that Sadie plays with. Also the original Skipper and Midge. Both are looking rag tag.

80 foot is a tall tree. Too bad it died.

We did drop off our things to the sale venue last night. Today the staff shop in the afternoon. Wednesday consignors get to shop then Thursday it opens to the public. We pick up any unsold stuff on Sunday evening.

We are thinking we need to put out Christmas decorations this weekend because we already have plans into December fir our weekends. It's too early but I don't know when we could do it unless it's now. Life gets busy this time of year.

I've gotten a head cold. I hate it. 😒 kids have it too.

It's past time for school to start so I must go attend to that. TTYL

  • Terry0773
Morning. Today's agenda is getting my nails done and working on that photo. Almost have it done. Got word this morning that my Uncle who is 12 yr older than me has bad cancer in his stomach and intestines. I don't think he will live thru this one. I do have fond memories of him when I was younger and I even lived with him & family for awhile. But he got weird and distant so I have to rely on old memories!

The arborist told Steve that the 80 ft dead tree was a Grand Fir. He said they don't last long compared to the other evergreens. They will be here Dec 8th I think Steve said. It's about $2500 for 3 trees and a big branch.

Cathe: So this paint store kid couldn't figure out how to mix 80% white with 20% color? Did we not teach math in his school?
Danielle: I imagine the inside stuff that needs done will be a good winter project. I'm looking at my space and I think I'm going to re-organize some items. I just bought 2 ink cube storage items since I have those little things laying all over.
Denise: You know I never had a Barbie. They came out about the time I was out of doll phase. I feel cheated!!! joy emoji I have a couple of bird houses dad built that have copper roofs on them and Mom painted them with tiny flowers. They have never been outside for the birds! Plus I do have many of her needlepoint or cross stitch canvases. She loved Bob Ross so I also have a mountain stream scene she oil painted. I treasure this stuff but I wonder what my kids will do with it all when I pass. Hope you end up selling everything. I can see why you need to get Christmas going. If I ran the calendar we would skip Thanksgiving all together. I give thanks every day so I don't require a special one. It means to me that I spend 6 hrs cooking for 4 people who eat in 15 min and then 3 of them leave me to clean up for another 4 hours. Yep .... I hate it.
Linda: I bang my head over the bay window and what a mess the 3 dogs do to it. I sure hope you get your glasses figured out. I have things too that I need a magnifier on. I did that cross stitch stocking for DGS fiancé last year and I definitely needed magnifier glasses to do it. It dawned on me that the problem with finding his vein might have been because it collapsed due to his kidney problems. I hope he continues to get better. Those Lego sets, no matter what they are, are beyond expensive. Outrageously expensive.

Time to dress and get moving!
  • OnlyJane
    Good Tuesday afternoon,
Another beautiful sunny afternoon, 78! We sure need rain, so many fires are going on up in the mountains, etc. Some were set on purpose. We do have a ban burn in place. At times you can smell the smoke. Just came back in after doing some watering. I stopped by the eye dr. office this morning but the girl was not in, no one else had any idea where my information packet was, I swear. Should have called first, will do when I try again.
Terry it is expensive to have trees cut down. Are there any structures near the trees? The people who moved in the house next to us with the problem trees said they would take care of it. It has been over a year, no action. I am going to leave instructions to the boys if we should die because the tree came thru our roof, sue, keep suing until you get what you want. Just so tired of people not taking responsibility for things. What color nails did you get this time?
Linda so sorry your having all that trouble with your eyes. Hopefully they will clear up soon and it is just taking longer. Glad to hear your bil is doing a little bit better.
Cathe did you get someone to mix the paint the way you wanted? It does not sound like a hard job, I would think they just have to adjust the machine. Still need to find the perfect outside color for new shutters outside, want something that "pops" but in a good way. It does seem that Hallmark has changed their typical format more now and at times some of the movies seem to drag on and on. Are you going to be home for Thanksgiving? I am sure we will be. Was at Kroger's today and it was packed, you would think it was going to snow or they were giving something away, plus people had their carts full to the top. I noticed lots of kids out with their parent, and then I remembered today is voting for some of the local elections and schools are closed.
Denise every year I want to have the inside decorations finished before Thanksgiving, has not happened yet, maybe this year?
Danielle you both got jury duty at the same time? I did not think they would do that. Glad your she shed is finished outside and not much to do for the inside.

Hi to those who are not mentioned this time.
Enjoy your rest of the day, stay safe!
  • Scrappin 2
Tuesday. I almost typed Monday. LOL 3:41

Jane- I did get a gal at the Home Depot up north to mix the paint. She was helpful and I thanked her profusely. Funny thing--A female customer was looking at the paint chips picking up colors that I considered. I told her what I chose and why and she bought a gallon of it. I told her ..."at least if you don't like it, you don't know where I lived"...we laughed.
Bummer on not being able to get the packet for surgery. Gee someone should have known where it would be.
My niece Callie (my sister's youngest DD) and her hubby are having Thanksgiving dinner.

I used to love Thanksgiving when there was a huge newspaper with ads. We women would sit around the table after dinner. We'd plan where we were going. Although we never got up really early, we still got up sort of early. It was so much fun. Now we don't even get a newspaper.

Danielle- I sure wouldn't like the stress of having to call about jury duty all week. We only have to call for the next day. If you have to go, I hope you both have to go. That way you'll have Jim to go with you.
I usually hate getting a new phone. But going from the 11 to the 15 wasn't bad at all. I know I don't use all the features it has, but that's how it goes.

Terry- sorry to hear about your uncle. Poor guy.
I guess no one showed this guy how to do 20% . I know he was at least 21 because he mentioned going out drinking with his dad. I don't know how we got on that subject but we did.
Taking down trees is so expensive. Our trees weren't nearly that tall.

Denise- Go ahead and put up the Christmas decorations. It has been in the 50's here and we should put up the outside lights.
Sorry to hear you and the kids have colds.

Linda- I don't have to do anything too special for my dry eyes. I have an over the counter gel to use at night.

  • Cdjohnson
WOW did not realize I had not been in since Friday. The evenings just fly by! The kids were here tonight. Zeke had a sniffly nose but other than that they are fine.

Cathe - Yes, Virgin River series on Netflix. I am so excited holiday episodes will be out November 30th. I thihk it will only be 2 shows. Not sure when the next season will be on. Glad you got your paint.

Jane - We have a burn ban in place during certain hours.

Terry - What color did you get for your nails? Since my nail tech moved, I have been attempting to do dip powder myself. I am getting better at it but it takes patience. You will have to tell me where you are next year and maybe we can arrange to meet.

Denise - That is a great way to get rid of things you no longer need for the children.

Linda - Good that your brother is holding his own and was able to get the feeding tube.

Danielle - Glad to hear that you she shed is finished!! What will be your first project to work on in it?

Anna - I totally understand about time! You will have to do like me and come in when you can. We all certainly understand.

Hello to anyone I didn't mention above.
  • Rockmom
That Barbie with the wigs came out in 1963. I was 7. It's well loved. Lol

I'm going to the sale in a bit. Looking for Christmas clothes. Hope I find some cute things.

Lol Cathe, that's funny. I bet she will like the color.

I did drag the Christmas boxes out of the attic. That's a start.

Tim had a Dr appointment today for his regular checkup. He got tested to see what this cold is we all have. Make sure not flu or covid. It's really is just sinus congestion/ with a cough. No fevers. No aches. Don't feel bad. I don't anticipate it being anything more.

Got school done for both kids so now I need to go feed them lunch. TTYL

Wednesday Nov 8, our 54th wedding anniversary. Guess we are compatible. LOL Our wedding day was a beautiful day- sunny but cool. Usually Nov 8 is a pretty day, but not today. It's drizzly. We are going out for dinner. I really don't feel like it, but I don't want to cook either.

Denise- Hope you and yours only have a cold, but still a stuffy head can make you miserable.
I don't remember Barbie with wigs. I may have said this before, but Barbie was manufactured after my time to play dolls. I had a Miss Revlon doll. I still have it. In 1963 I was a Freshman in high school.
Did the kids get excited when they saw the Christmas boxes? Or didn't they see them?

Cheryl-Sure hope Zeke's stuffy nose doesn't turn into anything other than that and he didn't share it with Izzy or Zoey.
I applaud you for learning how to do your nails. I don't know what the dip powder method is.

Today I went to Menard's (big box store like Lowe's) to get some spakling to fill holes. Then stopped at Walgreens for a prescription and to the grocery store. I was shocked I spent $98. I did get a few big buck items- paper towels, kleenex, coffee, oh and our favorite egg nog is available now. It is from a local dairy. I'm embarrassed what I paid for it. ($11.99 for 64oz) But we only get it at Christmas time. Usually I only get it in December- at Christmas. I am calling it our Anniversary present. LOL I didn't get any meat, nor canned goods. Seems like everything I picked up was three dollars or more.
Furnace guy was here to clean and check the furnace. That was $90. At least the furnace is good to go. ......well it has been going. LOL The man said to get a new one before 2028 as they are changing the standards and you can't get a 80 efficiency.

I have made a couple of Christmas cards. Yay me!

Hello all.... Had a frustrating morning in an odd way. Had my post op appointment and me, being clever, had it set for 9:50am. By that I was trying to avoid the obscene lateness this place has. Last time I saw him, he was 1 hr & 25 min late. Time before was again over an hour. The other 3 times prev were at least 30 min late. Today at 55 min late, I got up and walked out. It was post op so there wasnt a payment and I'm tired of it. I really like the dr as he's kind and quite knowledgeable and I trust his skills but this I cannot tolerate. I think he spends too much time with clients. So how can a dr be an hour late when he's only been to work for 2? They called me 15 min after I left and I didn't answer (I was in the bathroom)! I will have to see if I have a second post op appointment and I'll probably cancel it too. Nothing's wrong and as long as I do the exercises I'm fine.

Cathe: Happy Anniversary!! You have 4 more on me! I was at the grocery store too and hit $93 for 5 cans of soup, milk, grapes, & some toiletries. So sad they are so high priced. I don't think it will ever end since no one is willing to drop their prices first (suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, or stores). That is funny about the lady!
Cheryl: I doubt we will be at the event in Paducah since we aren't involved anymore. Not running or judging or running the event store. Too bad too as I would love to see your area. If it changes I sure will tell you. I had a weird nail apt this time. She kept asking me if I wanted a manicure. I kept saying yes not a pedicure. Then getting there she takes off the dip and starts working on my cuticles. She grabs the polish and I stopped her saying "what about the acrylic". No acrylic--just manicure was the reply. Now I'm confused. Finally straightened it out and they have new terminology with this solar powder that replaces acrylic powder. It's called sets now. Needless to say I ended up paying for both a manicure and "a set". Jeez. What I did tho was get a Caramel colored polish and on top of the 2 coats I had them buffed with pearlized chrome powder. So now it looks like rust with shine and opalescence. I applaud you for doing your own dip! Hoping Zeke gets better with his sniffles.
Denise: Sure hope your crowd isn't down with anything worse than what you think it is! I was 11 in 1963 and totally out of the age for Barbies. I have thought for years I was deprived of a special time in little girl's lives!!
Jane: the main tree coming down is about 30 yrds from the house. But they will cut it to fall into the forest and they also pick up and get rid of all the tree parts too. The 2 Alders are right next to the driveway and Korry's house is there. But again these guys are so good at aiming falling trunk parts nothing will get hurt. When they cut the 3 huge ones behind our house and pavillion, I was really worried but not a leaf hit any structure.

I got the photo fixed last night and everyone loves it. Now to work on some more. Did you all know that your Iphone camera will shoot in a form of RAW? I just found that out. And you can shoot a "burst" by holding down the sound button while pressing the shutter button. All news to me!

Oh yes, the kids helped get the boxes out of the attic and are super excited.

Happy anniversary Cathe! Enjoy the eggnog. Yeh, the cost of everyday items is insane. The TP I buy (Cottonelle) is now $25 for the large pack. It was $14.98 during covid.

Terry how frustrating. Dr must have been delayed by hospital rounds? It is frustrating for sure.

Hey Cheryl. You are doing your own nails? Good for you. Terry yours sound pretty. I'm not one to do mine. I just keep them trimmed short. I don't wear makeup up either. I did in high-school and college but it got so uncomfortable
(watery eyes, itching skin allergies) so I just stopped wearing it.

Time to get my day ramped up. Take care.

Slept in this morning which is really rare but did feel good. Need to get laundry & vacuuming done but that's all my chores today.
Next Monday night I have to take Danny in to have an MRI done on his shoulder under Valium. We are taking bets whether or not he'll fit into the machine because his shoulders are 51 in and the machine is 50 in supposedly.

Linda: I bet the baking really got the house fragrant!
Cheryl: I think doing a dip at home would be fun. I already have the light thing to cure the polish. I paid $10 for the nails to be polished with the chrome powder. My guess is that tiny container itself didn't cost $10. I think I'll look into it at Amazon, etc.
Cathe: how was the Eggnog? The only way I like that is with whiskey & nutmeg. Did you have a nice anniversary?
Denise: No, he was not on rounds as they do not schedule apts on those days. He just takes a lot of time with his patients and scheduling doesn't take that into consideration. I don't makeup like I used to either since I'm home all the time now.

HI Anna, Danielle, Jane ! Have a good day....

Thursday. Rum had his right cataract removed. The doctor was early! We were in and out of there in 45 minutes.

Thank you for the Anniversary wishes. Of course I love my husband and we are a good match. However there are some days that I'd like to give him away!!! That's just married life, don't you think?

Terry- It is so maddening when doctors run that late. Really maddening!!!
Yes, we had a nice anniversary meal. We went to Texas Roadhouse. It was so crowded and noisy. I would have liked someplace quieter. I chose the place. There aren't many restaurants around anymore that are more intimate. Our meal was delicious. We both had filets.
What's wrong with Danny's shoulder? Hope he fits into the machine. My SIL Lynette, had shoulder surgery on Monday. She had two tears.
I don't get my finger nails done, but do get pedicures. (only cuz I can't reach my toes to cut them)

Denise- I'm excited for the kiddos putting up the Christmas stuff. I'm itching to get my fall things put away.

I called Becky at the carpet store to get on the docket to get the carpet installed. I told her we are painting next week. She asked if I needed it by Thanksgiving and I said no. She hasn't gotten back to me yet. They hire independent carpet layers. I'm sure she has to check with their schedule. I want it in by Dec. 1 because I want to put up my Christmas tree and decorations the weekend of the 2-3.

I put away all my summer shoes. That means matching the shoes to the boxes and putting them on the shelf in the computer room.

Oh the egg nog is A +.
