December Card Share

  • Njr007
Hello and welcome to the December card share.

Normally this is the Card Sketch Challenge Thread but I have hit a few bumps in the road and now Christmas is here so my little group graciously agreed to skip the challenge this month and do a card share instead.

So please, let's see what cards you are making this month.

    Norma
  • Kimberly Scraps
I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Norma, Take some time for yourself this month, I know you have a lot going on so be gentle with yourself (easier said than done I know).

Hoping to get a card or two done this month.
Busy time normality without bumps in the road.
Happy to share a card when it gets made!
  • Scrapperb2
This morning I mailed out everything, packages, cards etc.
Petra I did overseas mailing for you. I hopefully finished all my gift shop and more. Now to get our meal plan ready for the 20th. What was a small family get together is now a great gathering. To our surprise Cody, Maddy the boys are coming, girls bringing their boyfriend, so far 12 of us.

Norma step back and just breathe. Put candles, soft music in the bathroom, bath salts climb in RELAX. Please take care of yourself, big hugs. Linda

Norma, thanks so much for even doing this. You deserve some much needed "you time".

Looking forward to seeing all the new cards being created this month. And I hope no one mind that I share my sketches from Nov, I'm sorry that I didn't have time to get photos and post them, I'll also be sharing other cards this month (mostly Christmas) but I need a few new birthday cards too.

Linda, sounds like a wonderful family gathering. Hope it's a great time for everyone.
  • Debbie.K
Had a busy day today so I didn't get any scrapping done but hopefully tomorrow I can work on a card or two. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone shares this month.

  • Cdjohnson
I plan on making some cards this week. I need more birthday cards as I am getting low.
  • Sewflake
I have been getting my Christmas cards ready to mail so no new ones yet.
  • Kelly.R
I am mailing my Christmas cards tomorrow. They are actually the ones I made last year. Seems like I'm always a year ahead. I have some challenge cards I can post this month.

    Happy Tuesday Ladies,
I am (still) working on my Christmas cards for this year. I'm about 2/3 complete. I thought I would share one with you.
I've been doing quite a few gatefold cards this year.

Beautiful cards everyone. Nothing done here yet but I'm hoping to get into my happy space later today.
  • Kimberly Scraps
Debbie, I got your beautiful Christmas card last night, thank you so much! I see you wrote that you sent it out on the 26th...5 days from Ohio isn't bad! Yikes about your snow storm...I sure don't miss those! Stay safe and warm!
  • Scrapperb2
Debbie got your lovely card yesterday. Thanks.
Got up early after a sleepless night. So I made three banana breads, watching the birds feed and the squirrel, took a few photos. The snow is starting to pile up. Yeah!! Nothing gets cancelled up here, takes a lot to close Berlin down. This afternoon I hope to spend time in the craft room.
Debbie... I hope you are able to get into your happy space. That's helpful sometimes.
Tena... I'm going to use the November sketches and hopefully get some other cards completed.

Hello Kelly, Lis1914_469835...I don't know your name so I don't know if I have your address.
    Have a good day
  • Debbie.K
Linda and Kimberly, thanks for letting me know you received. I've been quite surprised about how fast the mail is this year compared to last.

We received 4 inches of snow during the night. Woke up to everything covered. Thankfully my son shoveled the driveway and walkway before heading out to work or my poor vet would have been traipsing through those 4 inches to get to my door. We need to up Moe's insulin shots but other than that he's doing really good. I received my collage books today so I'm going to see what I can do with them with hopes of getting a card or two in.

Debbie, I received your gorgeous Christmas card today and love it...thanks so much hug emoji

    Hi Everyone, Happy December!

Norma, Thank you for hosting this, I know you have a lot going on so please take extra care of your self this month. You are in my prayers.

It's definitely been a hard year. With work and health struggles for both myself and my husband, I am feeling a little like a wrung out towel. I love this time of year, Justin and I put up our tree and I just love seeing the pretty lights. It makes me happy.
I wish I could pause time a little bit so I can get some cards made. I am barely doing one or two a day right now, I am so tired after work. I think I am gonna hang out in my crafty space Saturday and get some done!

I can't wait to see what creations you all come up with this month. I really enjoy seeing your cards.

Ok, Back to decorating... My lobby is ALMOST done. *whew*
    have a great day everyone!

  • Kimberly Scraps
Wow ladies, I really don't know how you all decorate. I feel like the Grinch...I haven't decorated in 4 years! To be fair we do usually go to Florida this time of year but even this year I'm not. I got as far as having hubs pull the small Christmas tree out of the storage building but he gripped so much about it bc it's only him and Babe that will be here for Christmas when I go see my mom and sister and he seriously dislikes Christmas (not for the real meaning but everything else). Anyhoo he didn't even make it out of the building and I said just forget it! But in all fairness I just don't have the stamina to take it all out but it all up pack up what I would have to just to make the Christmas stuff fit in the house and then take it all down come January. My body just can't. I will be having some Christmas cheer and decorating at my moms and her big tree so I am looking forward to that since I will have my sister and mom helping.
Today was a rough day already. After breakfast my heart started raising and I couldn't get it under control and almost drove myself to the hospital. I cancelled my PM doc apt I had and took a Xanax and laid back down and it helped so I guess it was my anxieties...so glad I didn't go to the hospital I would have felt stupid for going for that. I had gone to a heart doc a few years back bc of this and he put a 24 hour heart monitor on me and said "you're fine" so anxieties it is!

Well I am up and trying to get a second wind to get some more crafting done. I hope everyone who is having snow is staying WARM and SAFE! We are getting rain and cold but that's it so I am so happy about that!
    Have an amazing day everyone!
  • Debbie.K
My new books came in today so I just had to play.

  • Sewflake
Debbie, I too received your card yesterday but didn't pick it up from the mailbox until today because of the rain. Always lovely!
  • Rolbricht
Kimberly, do be careful with your heart. Maybe you need to see a cardio again. Recently Ive started taking Metoprol and my heart is much calmer and there for my breathing is also better. Not that thats the answer for you but you could inquire about it.

My husband has never been involved with the festivities either. There were times if we had plenty of money, he did go Christmas shopping with me. He never really liked gatherings. Weve had many arguments over the holidays. Ive always tried to make it nice for our boys and they for me. But we no longer have the boys. Sometimes I decorate cuz I love the lights, etc but sometimes I dont bother cuz its a lot of work just for me.
    ((HUGS)) to you

    Norma,
I appreciate all you do for us here at the challenge. So glad you are taking a month to focus on your family and friends.

I know a few of you have dropped off the Friendship Exchange, but I included you when I mailed my cards.

I just want all of you here to know that I care about you, and that I thank you for all the encouragement you send with your comments.

    Happy holidays!
    Sara
  • Kelly.R
Kimberly, I haven't decorated or exchanged gifts since 1986. We usually do something together like travel. But we haven't done that in a couple of years. Take care of yourself and rest.

Deb, I received your Christmas card today. Thank you so much. I was glad to see the Maremi papers up close. Really beautiful. Sorry you got snow. It's been in the 30's this week. Brrrr!

Sara, what is the Friendship Exchange? I have a birthday list for several of you that I use also for Christmas cards. I would love to add more to the list.

I am mailing my cards out tomorrow. Then we are going to spend the day with my mom and help her do some errands and shopping.

Thanks Ro, I think I might see a DIFFERENT heart do after the holidays. LOL, your husband and mine sound so much alike, perhaps they are long lost brothers joy emoji

I am still in the addressing envelope stages so mine will be going out end of the week at the latest. I don't want to wait too long with the holiday mail and these snow storms already this year.
  • Sewflake
I am with Kelly and just have the “birthday list” addresses that Norma made earlier this year after I added my name. If there are more peeps then I would be happy to have more addresses.

I love the way Sara stated it, sending cards because I appreciate all of the encouragement and comments from everyone on this thread.

I have no expectations in return. Enjoy the fruits of my card making. It gives me joy to send them.
