I have two kids going to Prom this year and there are really some ugly embellishments out there. Some cute ones if your wearing a black dress and taking a limo. Anyone see any cute embellishments (pastel or bright colors)? DD has bright pink dress, sons girlfriend light purple and no limo.

I saw Karen Foster has a new Prom/Dance set out...havent seen it in any stores but I saw it in one of this months magazines..it was very nice
i'm not sure if it's the right color for your guys but it was really pretty!

I have 2 Prom and 2 Mid-Winter pages to do for me and my DH High School scrapbook. I like the idea of the metallic paper, thanks!!!!

I have prom pictures to scrap too and I'm considering going with the theme for the prom (An evening in Paris).....or something elegant for the "formal" prom pictures. It's a big night and lots of formality, so I think the pages should reflect that. I think the "non-formal" pictures (like the girls getting ready, after-prom, the more casual shots) can be more of a fun layout but still carry the same colors to coordinate with the other sb pages. I would also include any items from the prom, like the invitations, tickets, napkin, stuff like that.

What paper for a picture?

depends on the picture

elegant - go with florals (anna grifin maybe?)
fun - sparkly papers. maybe just a metallic cardstock or somesuch.

could you post the photo so we could see what you're working with ?

For my two formal dance pages, I used the theme of the dance...one of them was "A Night in Paris" so I used this great black city diecut on the bottom of a dark blue page with glitter. Found both of them at my local scrapbooking store. I put the "bid" (invitation) on that page and the professional picture and then the rest of the pages were more fun, but I still used the same color scheme.

Our HS goes all out for Prom. The dad's are even the valets! and the decorations are massive!!.....even a water fountain, real shrubs, flowers, plants, mulch, etc....The majority of junior class parents take on the responsibility of everything, and work non-stop getting everything ready. Also, the parent chaperones get just as dressed up in formal wear as the kids. It's THE event of the year.

Aw...I am sad. I am homeschooled, and boyfriend-less so no prom for me! Oh well. It probably isn't too bad that i don't get one.

Im glad my prom wasnt that way. Im glad my parents werent at my prom.

They were only allowed in the middle of the prom when they annouced who came with who and we would walk in together.

I would have died if my parents were at my prom... not really where I want them! LOL
My mom was cool, she drove us to the after party and picked up some cases of beer for us.. kinda funny since she doesn't drink at all!!!
