When do I stop?

I've been doing a baby album for my son and originally thought I'd do the first year in this album and move on to a new album after that. But I've been adding pages like crazy and it's up to his first 15 or so months. I don't know when I should stop this album...it's getting kinda full. I'm thinking maybe the first 18 months and then a new album or should I just do the first 2 years? Anybody else have a situation like this? What did you decide to do? And then I think I'll have the same problem after a while with the next album--I'm thinking his toddler years until preschool or something. What do I do?!?!?! I'm afraid I'll never be able to stop and just have albums & albums & albums until he goes to college!

With all my boys I started at birth and just keep on going until I fill the album, then start a new one. All my boys are into their second "volume" as I scrap their life.

It's all about how you want to do it. It sounds like you have plenty to journal about to worry about filling too many pages. Just keep on going! He'll love it when he's older!

i've been scrapping my own life since the 5th grade (and i started then with 4th!). when one album is full, i get another. i think with kids this is the thing to do - if you like scrapbooking, why stop? keep it up as long as you're interested. children don't stop being memorable after a year, right?

Just keeping going till its full or Stop after two years.

For the baby album I would do birth to 2 yrs. Then do a toddler album from 2 until he starts kindergarten. Then I would do a school years album from kindergarten until graduation. This album might get really big! So you may have to do an elementary school album, a middle school album, and then a high school album.

It's great that you are starting this project now and can scrap as events happen. I am currently working on an album for my husband of his growing up years. He is 28 now and many pictures have been lost over the years. His mom was not the best organizer and I am sifting through boxes of mixed up, unorganized pics trying to find major events from each year and put them in order. His dad was the main photographer of the family and well he didn't do the best job. He liked to take pics of junk....fish, flowers, landscapes, etc. The lesson I have learned from this is when you go on a trip take pics of your people with the scenery not pics of the scenery only. Buy postcards or get brochures for those types of pics. Not only will the professional pics be better than anything you will take, they will also be LABELED as to what the picture is of! LOL

I started baby albums for all my kids when they were born and I intend to just keep em going until they are married! At which time I'll do a wedding album, then when they have kids I'll do baby albums for their kids....and it just keeps going and going and going.....LOL!!

Hmmmmmm, I guess I'm an odd duck. I have a whole album that is just my son's first week of life ....course, it was an adventurous week in the NICU.

It is totally your decision, but I like to scrap until the album is full, but I find a cutting off point, like Christmas or a new school year or another birthday. This makes it easy to label the spines - if you do that.

I do mine per year. Some of my albums are very small, but some are huge! But then I'm including all family pics chronologically, not just pics of my dd's. I do have separate scrapbooks for them, starting w/baby books, and then albums with things like class pics, report cards, souvenirs, etc.

What I was going to do before I lost all of my pictures to a house fire was a separate album for each year up to school age. Then a book strictly for school pictures. Then a book for elementary, middle school, high school, in these books would be report cards, certificates, fun things, sports, clubs, etc. Then a book strictly for vacations and pets.

The fire was 2 years ago but I am still doing the same thing but they just won't be as thick re school.
