Bought a Sizzix...Now WHAT?

I bid for it on ebay and actually won!

Please tell me what dies are MUST HAVES??? I just bought the doll figure at half off at Jo-ann's. A friend uses these for some really great ideas.

Other than that, I am lost.

Of all the dies I have, I probably use the tags the most.

I love the circles and squares. I don't have another tool to cut circles, so that works out great!!

The Girls Are Wierd is a great Alphabet to start with... When we take ours to crops it seems to be the most popular with everybody...

have lots of fun! I have 2 regular sets of alpha, 3 sizz;ets, 1 ransom, and many regular dies, and sizzlets! they are so much fun to do on LO's!

The tags for sure and then I use the flowers the big daisies and the little daisies the most..I also use the christmas dies alot..the tree and the presents

As everyone else has said, tags are a must. I also have the Funky Brush alphabet, and I hope to get a few more of the alphabets eventually.

I use my alpha bars alot!! Love those - the squares are great too. I want to get a tag template next. I have a bunch of different shapes that I purchased for occassions - turkey and other holidy themes.

Love my sizzix.

The two sets of Alpha's I have are bounce, which I like but they aren't my fav and script which I think is a must. Girls are wierd is certainly my next buy. I love them. If that helps. They look cool on the box but if you can see them in person it helps you decide a lot easier, at least for me.

hiiiii i'm putting up a lot of about 13 red dies on ebay (all different) for about $60cad in the next couple days if you're interested!

i use my aphabets the most. I have lollipop and shadowbox. I also have a lot of the dies, but I use the alpha the most.

the tags, circles, squares and the film strips are my fav. I also have the script alpha and shadowbox which I also like.

alphabets! I have tons of shape dies or decorative dies as Sizzix calls them and I hardly ever use them! But my alphabets, I use them ALL the time! I have original alphabets, sizzlits and alphabars.

I would spend some time cruising around their website. Maybe print a catalog and spend time getting to know their product. Product knowledge will be very important as you make decisions to spend money!

My favorites are:

Alphabet - the Fruit Smoothie Sizzlits. Don't forget the converter when you buy the Sizzlits, I didn't realize it and couldn't use my alphabet until I bought the converter too. I have also been looking at the Rat-A-Tat set, but have to wait for a good sale. I saw on the Sizzix site today they have a 40% coupon!! I just may have to buy the Rat-A-Tat now.

Dies - the Sizzlits Tag Set, again, I had to wait for my converter.

So, the Sizzlits actually work with the big Sizzix machine? I just have to buy the converter thingie?

Yep. They work pretty well!

The only time I've had a problem is when I was using an older pad - it was a bit battered. I wasn't getting clean cuts. New pad, problem vanished!

I love the sizzlit alphas. I have Girls are Wierd (and use it all the time - my pages are going to all start looking alike!!) and I want Script and Rat-a-tat. I also have the tags, and I use them all the time too. Once I get another 40% off coupon (looks like I'm going to have to write a letter to the newspaper since we NEVER get one) I'm going to get some of the basic shapes, because they are so versatile. I have the camping set, and even though I do a lot of camping pages, I can't seem to figure out a way to make them work. I have not yet mastered the art of paper piecing.

Yeah, I have a thing for dragonflies. I can't explain it.
