Bulletin boards for work

I would appreciate ideas from experience scrappers for upgrading our bulletin boards at work (in a hospital).

We have a number of boards throughout the building, and would like to keep them fairly simple (for upkeep purposes). We use the boards to display flyers of current events...employee picnic, community events, upcoming fundraisers, departmental announcements, etc. As the boards can easily fill with misc. flyers, all of non-matching color scheme or theme, I have only come up with displaying on a solid colorful background (like your typical gradeschool boards) and making a large "diecut" out of our logo and web address. Also, possibly making large diecuts of physician lab coats and placing all flyers inside a lab coat...to give it some pattern consistency. Any other ideas?

Have you thought about going to a teachers supply store? They sell tons of ready made things for bulletin boards.....boarders etc....just an idea

Actually, we have one employee who has started her own business of creating boards for the city school district...she has provided some ideas, but they are geared towards young school children and typical themes of snowmen, Halloween bats, etc. I need to create a sophisticated board that will be more universal, as viewed by patients and visitors. I was thinking of a teacher supply store (like what?) for the large rolls of colored background paper, and the scrolled edging boarder, but will likely need to customize my diecuts...you think??

Bulletin boards can sometimes be too busy, therefore they are overlooked. Keep it simple and use solid, inviting colors. Post a picture when you're finished. We'd love to see how it turns out. Good luck.

Well I do know that they have cut outs (large) for occupations etc....Dr.s, Nurses etc..and they use drawings of real people....Used them when I owned my Child care center and you can definately get the background paper and edging there....only other option would be to make one and for that you can google coloring pages and blow up the images to fit your boards on a copier then paper piece them.

I like the idea of displaying the flyers in he lab coats! Sounds cute. Also (as a teacher) keep it simple. I would search for things online too. Like "health bulletin board borders or trim" I think some stuff fromt eachers supply might be a little infantile, however, my classroom is across from the Allied Health Vocational program, and she has some nice decorations.

ohhhhh...wonder if you could do some type of activity with kids int he hospital to make the trim or some posters. Homemade always lures them in. You could do a monthly poster contest or something. hmmm.
