Altering?

Altering is just another craft addiction for me. I love taking something and changing it to something else. Alot of altered things can be used on scrapbook pages such as cds, puzzle pieces, matchbooks, etc. I am always looking at something I can alter

Also, altered clipboards are popular..great for teacher's gifts.

I'll have to agree. With some, me included, it is all about being creative with anything! Great way to put a little personalization into your work!

Altering is a great way to express yourself creatively. Myself, I love altered books and in scrapbooking love the collaged, altered look the best. I think it's just a matter of taste. My sil who is an avid scrapbooker is not drawn to that look at all but loves a simpler look in her scrapbooks and in her home. My home has lots of faux finishes and textured walls and my scrapbooks have the same 'feel'.

Not to be rude.... but can someone please explain to me what is up with the altering of everything? I don't get it, what is the purpose of it?
I would appreciate any insight into this.
Am I missing out on something big here?

Do you mean altering things like Altoid tins or do you mean using antiquing techniques in your LOs???

As far as altering items, I am an all around crafter at heart.....not just a scrapbooker. I see it as just another craft. The thrill and satisfaction of creating and being creative.

BTW......you should see what I've done to my bedroom suit and my walls.....talk about altering.

Thanks for asking, and thanks for answering. I have used altered puzzle pieces on lo's, but the paint cans, etc., I was also a bit perplexed. Creativity is Great!
