What do you use your xyron for?

I just got a great deal (I think) on shopathome.com for the xyron 500 as well as the 250. What can you put through them and what can't go through? Do you use it in place of glue?

I've used it in place of glue, especially for vellum. I put eCuts thru, but I've never had the nerve to try anything really thick. Paper *before* using my Sizzix to cut letters....

I use the little X for ribbon all the time, too!

I love it for vellum and letters. My boys use it for foam for posters for school. I have use it on ribbon here and there too. It does come in handy.

I mostly just use mine for letters-

The guy at the sizzix booth at the orlando expo last year asked why I didn't use my xyron for everything including photos and I told him it was too expensive- and his response was "you will use the best quality adhesive to attach letters, but a lesser quality for your important photos?" made me think for 1/2 a second (still to expensive and i know it was a sales pitch, but at least that kind of told me that if I were to ever get rich and not want to deal with cutting those blue tabs in 1/2 and stickin them in the 4 corners, that maybe I would run everything through the xyron)

I mainly use mine for Sizzlit letters, but I sometimes use it for ribbon and vellum, also.

You are now talking to a Xyron addict. I have the 250 and the 150. I use it for small photos, die cuts, paper, card stock, buttons, embellishments, ribbon and velum -- anything and everything. It actually makes the piece a sticker with very, very good adhesive which covers the entire area of the piece. You will love it. Get a scrap piece of card stock and run it through and you will be hooked too! Now I sound like the salesman, huh? But I like it!

I am a Xyron Addict too. I have a 150, a 250 and a 500. Little Diecuts and ribbon for my 150. Larger diecuts for the 250. My 500 gee Deco Squares, wide ribbon, journel boxes larger diecuts Letters in all three of them, Paper Slide mounts. Then I have my 2" and 4" Cheetahs and then I have almost all of the snap togethers. I think if Xyron came out with a tape runner I would buy that too

I have a 150 and a 250, and I use it for basically anything that fits and needs glue. For larger things I use Hermfix, with this is wonderful for smaller, hard to manage/handle items.

I have the Little X but I dont use it as much as I would like. I tend to buy things and not want to waste it, so I don't use it lol. I'm sure once I get to using it more, I will love it very much. I'm like that with paper too. I'll hoarde paper because its pretty and then I don't want to waste it. It took me awhile to use my Bazzil, I just touched it for the first little while, it's so yummy. Lol, you guys must think I'm weird.

I have been thinking about getting one of these. You got it on hsn? What would be a good deal on them? The LSS is always so expensive.

I got the 500 and the 250 along with 2 catridges for $45. The 500 alone is in Michael's for $44.

Thin magnets (long story)

If I had a bigger one, I'd use it for photos... too easy!

Everything that fits! I stick some of my Jolee's in there (the flatter ones), letters, punches etc. I make labels for my swap baggies, swap items, pens and my other sb equipment. I have a 250, so if it fits it's going through.

I can see how this would work well with the jolee by you since they aren't already sticky (as long as they weren't thick).

I use mine (the little x, I bought the starter set at a LSS for $15.00 on clearance) for punchies. Just a heads up... I have an adhesive runner by xyron, and it broke before I got to use it much (:() so I called xyron, and they sent me a new one with refills!! So nice!!

For SB'ing I mostly use it for vellum and for adhering relatively thin pieces of paper.

For non-SB'ing, I use the laminating cartridge. My DD has special needs and we use visual cues for some things. I laminate them so we get more use out of them.
