wow I was just watching Judging Amy and there was a girl that had a baby at 14, and then I jump on the website and see this first.. What a shock..

I don't use page protectors- but I am thinking that it just might be better-and i think my future albums will have protection...

I gave dh a mini album w/o protectors.

When I first started scrapbooking and up until about 3 years ago, I used wire-bound albums and glued everything right to the page.

Now I'm in love with post bound albums and always use protection.

I always use protection. For years I've got my photos developed and if I show them to my mum straight from the packet she ALWAYS gets finger prints all over them ... so I started putting photos in photo album straight away many years ago. So, there's no way I'd let people near my layouts without plastic between them and the photos!

I voted YES. But, I have a clariffication. I haven't found an album that I like yet so my 12 x 12s are not in one yet. When I get one, it will have the page protectors in it and that will hopefully cut down on the smudges and fingerprints. The 8x8 book I am doing for my mom for Red Hats came with the protectors and it makes it easy. Just finish the lo and put it in the plastic.

When I make the little accordian books, I DO NOT use any page protectors.

I always use page protectors. I'm also wondering...those of you who don't...what kind of album do you use and why do you prefer not to use page protectors? I guess I never considered not using them.

Of course I am talking about page protecters!!!! I have always used them but lately have been seeing more and more people not. So I was just wondering what everyones take on this was!

I don't like them and have never used them. I don't like the look it gives the page. Granted I have to be more careful about what I put in my book (things that could scrape a photo on the opposite page have to be moved or not included). So for the most part I do not use any metal. But I am happy with my restrictions.

Yes, some of that stuff is just too expensive to risk it being ruined.

Yep, I use page protectors for pretty much every single layout I do for every album. It gets costly but I'd rather have my pages protected than worry about them getting ruined.
