How do you haul stuff to crops?

Another option is to make page kits. I have a friend that is coming down from Europe and she's planning all her pages ahead-- and stuffing the "ingredients" of each page into a 2 gallon ziploc bag.

The only thing you'd have to worry about then are your tools.

i have both the old and new version of the joann's crop tote mentioned. (the one on sale for $29.99 this week). the old one is ok. good enough. serves its purpose.

the newer one is AWESOME! great little storage velcro-out zipper bags, tons of extra storage, a great divider. i love it! i too got it on sale (a few months back) and have jam packed it full to many outings.

if you can afford $30 GO FOR IT! i love mine

I haven't been yet, but when I had the extra money, I purchased a Create a Bag I hope I will put to good use. I also have a rolling crate I found at Kmart for $18.00. It was on clearance and came with a bunch of tools. It has the blue and yellow canvas covering and will hold tons of stuff. So always check at the tool section of those kind of stores, you never know what you'll run across.

DIY just had a great show on going to crop. They also suggested to bag the pages in advance, which is what I plan on doing. They had some good tips on that show.

re the JoAnns tote- I had the old version and the clasps on the top broke the very first time I used it. My CMC said it was NOT overloaded. The new one has some improvements so I would like to see how it holds up.
I have the CIS XXL which I am selling. My LSS is ordering me the MiMi tote. We bought an armoire to put my scrap stuff in (small $150.00 one at walmart, we still don;t have it set up! LOL), and I like that the MiMi is collapsable. Since I wont need the XXL for storage anymore!

mine is cleaned out. hopefully they or someone else will have something like that again. I'd really like to buy one to keep in my trunk, one for hubby's trunk and an extra for scrapping needs, LOL.

I have a collapsable rolling crate that I got at staples. I paid about $19 for it but it seems to heavier duty than the multi colored ones that I have seen elsewhere.

I have seen people put there stuff in clean pizza boxes and bring their stuff that way!

The rolling suit case sounds like a great idea too.

I'm attending my first crop in a couple of weeks. I am on a VERY tight budget, so I need some tips on how to haul all my stuff to the crop w/o investing in an expensive tote. Thanks!

Staples has a rolling, collapsible crate with a handle on sale this week for around $12. I already use one for my "dog stuff" for our adoption events, and think I'm gonna pick up another for crops....

I think the most convenient way of carting my stuff to crops is using a tool/fishing tackle box. It holds most of the stuff you need because you can get them in so many sizes to suit your personal needs and best of all they are cheap!

For my first one I just took a rolling suitcase! Had tons of pockets and enough space!

Great suggestions ladies. I love the Staples carrier...and it's AFFORDABLE! I have a tackle box from when I was an art student AND I have a suitcase. Looks like I'm going to be ok. <sigh of relief>

WOW! I wished I had asked this question before I spent a fortune on a tote that I grew out of in a matter of two weeks.

Mine don't get used much except when I go scrapbooking. Since I am done with college I don't use them much and I can put them to use. I have a rolling duffel bag that I typically use when traveling. My rolling suitcases are now starting to show their wear.

I bought one of the collapsible rolling carts from Big Lots about 3 weeks ago for only $8.88. They are the same colors as the Fiskars rolling craft keeper things. And you can just tie a carpenters apron around the handle or the crate part for some pockets. And those remote control pouches you can buy or make yourself to hang over the arm of your couch. can be hung over the sides and secured with velcro tabs to add pockets on the sides of the crate.

Joanns currently has thier version of the big rolling tote on sale for $29.99 (reg 59.99)> I may get this as an anniversary present if I can talk myself in to it. Trying to be good about spending the money though. But I will probably go pick it up.

I use a basket that my mom in love got me for christmas a few years ago. I also use my book bag, and a big tote that my dad doesn't use anymore. It was what he carried tile samples in.

I have the CM Tote Bag which I love but I got it with credits from a CM party that I had. I also have crates that I use. Use whatever works best for you.

You may want to check out the reviews on the product (at Joanns site) before you buy it. They didn't look to positive to me.

Ooh...thanks for the tip BibleKitty! I didn't think about that.

Upon reading the reviews I still think I will go ahead and pick one up. I will take a lesson from the people that have had problems with it and save my receipt. I think avoiding overloading will keep alot of problems at bay.

I have the older version of the joanns roll cart and love it. The only thing that happened was the clip broke. I think thats why they have a zipper version now I think.

I am no help... I have the big expensive Crop rolling bag thingy....
Although, I just got one of these jelly paper holders and now, instead of seperate baggies, I put my "kits" in there... I think it has 7 "pockets" . the paper holder thingy was only 5 bucks at Walmart.

I bought one too, for taking my paper to crop.s I had already decided to make a cover for it (in case of rain), but I never thought of adding pockets!! great idea.
