homemade stencils

Hi everyone! I was planning on making my own stencils from fonts I've found through the computer and online. I could make them on cardstock but i was hoping someone could tell me where i might be able to find sheets of plastic that would work. im trying to be crafty and save money. please help! thanks!!!

Go to any fabric store that carries quilt supplies, and ask them for some template plastic........

You can also find stencil plastic with the stencils at your local craft store!

I even heard someone say you could cut up milk jugs and use the plastic from those.

If you want to print them from fonts, try inkjet or laserjet transparencies, depending on your printer. Office Max, Staples, etc., any larger office supply store.

you can also buy sheets of blank stencil plastic at walmart....its not very thick....its made out of the same material that a stencil used for painting is made out of.....actually if you look for it with the stencils that where you will find it....and then you just use an x acto knife to cut them out
