Backing on hinged photos?

When doing a hinged photo, should anything go on the back of the picture to keep it strong? Im thinking cardstock or chipboard, but want to know what everyone else does...thanks.

U usually back it with cardstock and then embeliish it with a little something or put some journaling there.

If the lo supports it, I go ahead and mat my photo and attach the hinges to the mat around the photo.
