Question about all day crops.

I have been scraping but I have never been to a crop before and I would like to try it some time. I keep seeing different crops that last for 10 or so hours. When you go to them do you have to stay the whole time? or can you come and go when you want? I just don't think I could scrap for 10 hours.

You can come and go as you want...they don't handcuff you to the table or anything Sometimes places offer a half day price. I didn't think I could either...but time REALLY flies when you are at a crop!

I don't go to many...I don't like the idea of paying $30 to scrapbook and for snacks/food I may not even like. I can scrapbook at home...with my own music and my own snackies for free. That said...it IS fun to go and see what others are doing.....learn new tricks...and get out of the house.

Im one of those that looves going to crops I cant believe how time flies by sooooo quickly Alot of the crops that are all day things have about an hour break time for lunch or dinner .

Plus many of them have classes that you can take. I am going to an 8am to 2 am
crop in July and an all weekend crop in October. They usually have vendors also and you can get up and go out whenever you want to.

I love going to long all day crops. I try to get to two or three a year. Time does fly!! You won't even realize it and the day will be half over. The place that I go provides lunch, dinner, and snacks. They usually have a raffle and sometimes have vendors come in to do demonstrations. It is a ton of fun!!

I went to one in Januaury from 9am to midninght- usually I am one of the last to leave- most of us having to be "kicked out" so the doors can be locked. I was only able to stay until 10 that night and was so bummed, but i had strep throat and was just in too much pain, and too tired to make it the last 2 hours, but I tried my darnedest.

I do try to somewhat plan my layouts, only becuase all of my stuff isn't portable, I have a room that is full of stuff and it just wouldn't be possible to load it all.

another good thing about the all day crops ($30-40 is very reasonable-it usually barely covers the cost of renting the building and food for the person putting it on) is that a lot of times you can try new stuff out- the one I went to the lady putting it on had taken her sizzix and several alphabets and here sewing machine, and there were a few ladies that had brought other fonts that were more than willing to share. I have also shared my mm foam letters and magnetic stamps with total strangers as well. I have gone to both ones where I have known someone else, and ones where I didn't know anyone. I actually get a lot more done when I go, not knowing anyone- I still go around and check out other peples stuff and "visit" with the people sitting around me, but I don't get quite as involved in the conversations as if I had gone with a group of freinds.
