Is there a product that looks like grout?

I'm wanting to do a mosaic page, so what to use for the "grout"?

Dh say that most likely none of the hardware options are completely safe, so what are my options from a craft store? I would like to fill in the grout lines for a more 3D effect. Any suggestions?

There are embossing powders that are speckly but not sparkly. I have one that looks like cement.

Could you maybe use paper clay? You could roll it into a strip and kind of squish it down a little. When it dries, it will kind of have that grout look.

They have a product that is a 'texture paste' for paper. I know they sell it at walmart in the craft section. I am not sure of the exact name, but it comes in a tube like toothpaste. I think that is what you are looking for.

I've seen a demo at Micheals where they used a "putty" and pushed it through something like an embossing stencil and it was a/f. Looked something like grout when dried. Sorry I dont' know the name, but I'll bet it is with paint and stenciling items in the craft store. Best of luck!

I've used modeling pastes in classes that would work for your project. They dry with a 3D dimension. One is called Dreamweaver Translucent Embossing Paste and the other is Golden Molding Paste. Both work the same way. When dry, you could apply chalks, paints, etc. HTH!

Yes, I was going to suggest the modeling paste too. It comes in clear, white, etc.

There's also that new texture magic by delta. yoiu can get it at Walmart. comes in tubes, in the crafts section (mine were near the stencils). We played with it at CKU. It would probably work.
