Best cutting tools?

I'm absolutely brand new to scrapping and would like to start with some cutting tools. I'm trying to decide between the Creative Memories patterns, mat and cutter, the Fiskars tool with templates and the Coluzzle. I have NO CLUE what to get! I would really love to hear your thoughts on what you like or don't like about each type of cutting system.

I really like Coluzzle. Haven't tried the others though, so I can't really compare!

I started with the Fiskars set and ended up buying the CM cutting system - I LOVE IT! It is worth every penny! I think it's much easier to use than the Fiskars set. HTH

I really like the CM cutting set too. I bought the mat,cutters, and one set of patterns from a consultant and priced my other patterns on ebay and ended up with great bargins.

I have the fiskars cutting tool and i love it (though ive heard im in the minority on that), but what I have noticed it does not seem to have that big an assortment of templates. It saved me a lot of paper though because I cut out shapes from the back of my phot mats such as tag shapes which i can use for another project. Either way have fun.

I have had several brands of cutters. After much use I finally purchased the Dahle and, in my humble opinion thats the best one of all my "trials". There are alot on the market so if you have friends with different brans see if you can give them a try. However, I must add I did like my Fiskers for a long time UNTIL I met the Dahle.

I use the CM 12" straight/wavy/scallop cutter and mat, the fiskars for a personal (smaller) trimmer, and the Coluzzle for shapes (like circles, etc.). I've never heard anything bad about CM tools/cutters (except they are spendy!). The fiskars are good/bad...sometimes some people find it doesn't cut very straight. I've also heard good/bad things about the Coluzzle...I find it very easy to use, but some people don't.

I Love my CM cutting system. I prefer their new 12" wavy trimmer and straight trimmer to the older 12 Cutting system template, but i have friends that love their template and won't change to the new one, so it boils down to preference. If you are most comfortable using a pencil type cutter, then get a Coluzzle, the CM system is good if you are more comfortable with a push type cutter. The Fiskars system is god if you prefer a large area to grasp.

I love the CM cutting system, and like neshie, I like the redesigned 12" straight and decorative trimmers!

I love my Coluzzle, especially the nested shapes. I have a fiskers shape cutter that I've never been able to make work. I've never tried CM, but I understand it's much more expensive the Coluzzle.

I'm a Coluzzle fan too! It's relatively cheaper than other systems. And it's easy to use!

The straight 12" trimmer is $19.50 and decorative 12" trimmer is $24. The cutting mat and three blades are $24. The patterns (there are 5 sets) are each $14. If you purchased the entire set, it would be $137.50, which is not a bad deal considering how much you get with the tools.

I haven't priced other cutting tools, but I love CM tools. If you need any more info on the tools, or other CM products, just let me know.
