Wishbalde rumor - doesn't cut from Word anymore?

Has anyone purchased the wishblade recently? I heard a rumor that Xyron put a new driver into the machine so it has disabled the ability to cut from Word or Illustrator??

Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Thank you for your recent purchase! Even before you plug in your Xyron Wishblade we want to let you know about some exciting enhancements to the Wishblade functionality that should be coming soon.

Many of our customers have requested that the Wishblade software be enhanced to allow the cutting of all True Type Fonts that they own and are stored on their computer. While you may have already heard this is possible, the Wishblade was not designed for this functionality and using it in this way could damage the unit and negate the warranty.

We now recognize the benefit of this feature and are in the process of developing a software upgrade including this enhancement that we will be sending to all Wishblade customers. You'll receive a second communication from us in the coming months with specific details as to when the upgrade will be available so stay tuned!

So, it seems that WB is trying to take care of it's customers by providing a way to do this in a controlled and safe way (meaning--the controller that you set your cut settings with, will be enabled, as it isn't automatically enabled in the "old" way).

Everyone is up in arms about this, understandably..but I think it's going to work out after all. No need to panic! lol!

I asked Santa for one. But Santa's wallet doesn't open that far lately. Plus when i looked at the website and saw that you have to have thier fonts, I had decided against it but if they are going to fix it. I might just start collecting my mad money again so I can get it.
