colored pencils?

I have a question...

Is it safe to use regular colored pencils to color in one of my titles, or does it need to be a special acid free kind? Just wondering! Also, what about metalic paint pens? Mine just says "non-toxic"...don't see "acid free" on it anywhere

I have already used regular colored pencils to color something in on my LO's.

I have used colored pencils on my lo's I just put them on a seperate piece (not touching my pictures) just in case. not sure about the metallic pens...... but I would like to get some good ones to try.I know someone will have an answer for us so I will keep checking back=)

The metallic pens are not acid-free, but as long as they're not actually touching the photo it shouldn't be a problem. Sakura makes an incredible metallic pen (diamond dust or something like that, you can look on their website), I want them all!!

i use them, you can spray them with the zyron acid free spray if your really concerned about them

I think colored pencils are safe to use. I figure, if an artist can use them to create a picture that has lasted years upon years, they're most likely safe for our scrapbooks as well.

Yes, the Laurentien pencil crayons are acid free and recommended for scrapbookers. It was on their website.

Zyron acid free spray? Never knew they made such a thing! Cool! Is it expensive?

I use regular color pencils to color in my stamps. I'd love to try the watercolor pencils you can spritz or brusk with water...

There is 2 kinds,

one spray is $4.99 if you want to just make something acid free, so if you find some paper you like, but its not acid free or if your worried about the pencils.

$8.99 acid free and a sealant if you would like to seal in chalk or ink or digital photos. I use this if your worried about digitally printed photos, or if you chalk or ink will bleed or fade over time.

I usually get mine from AC Moore with a Coupon .
