Do you have trouble scanning 12X12? I know a fix

In the March issue of Creating Keepsakes there was an article on Easy scanning for 12X12 LOs. I have always photographed mine with my digital camera and I was never pleased with the end result (flash marks..etc.). The article recommended a program called Ulead Cool 360. You can scan one half of the page, then the other half and merge them! It has perfect blending. Two tips though: You need to make sure the setting is on JPG format rather than TIFF and disable the WARP feature. It was great! Thank you so much for the scanning help. I went to the site and downloaded the program you suggested. It made everything so easy, I have spent weeks trying to figure out how to scan my pages and thanks to your advice I just finished scanning all of my 2002 pages(all in one evening)! Thank you so much!

Wow! Thank you so much. I cant wait to try it, I have been trying this & having a very hard time blending the 2 halfs toghther. My hubby could not figure it out either. Thanks for the tip! Dawn

The program works great but I still cant get things small enough to post on here. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I think I am going to go crazy before I ever figure it out.....

You still may need to reduce the size (and or resolution) of the pic. Alot of times when you scan, the picture may be stored as an 8inch x10inch or larger. These files take up alot of memory. I would change the resolution to 72 and reduce the size to around 4 or 5 inches or about 460 pixels in width. I change the width of my page and then the program will change the height for me. I would also save it as a jpeg or a gif. Tiffs and Picts take up too much memory too.

Yes, your right, I do have to change the size. After I use the program to scan and merge the two sides, I open the file up in my Adobe photoshop 5 program and it has a choice under the HELP for resizing the image. I just use that to get it below 100k

hey Guys...
Thank you so much for all of your help. i think I will get this after all. We just got a new computer with XP & I am not used to the programs anymore. I feel like a idiot!! I must need another photo editing program, all I have to use is paint & I cant figure out how to change the size entirely, It only changes a small section. I have worked at it for hours. It is my new obsession to make it work. I will post here sometime soon even if I have to make hubby get me a new program..... Thanks again, you have helped me a great deal.

I did it!!!! I did it!!!! Thank you so much for all of your help!!!!! I got a new program last night & now it is so easy. I am going to go ahead & buy the 360 program too because it is so easy.
