I LOVE alcohol markers! They blend so well and there are so many colors. I used to use Spectrum Noir but was so annoyed that the ink colors and cap colors were often different. I wanted Copic but couldn't afford or justify the cost. My now favorite are the Ohuhu alcohol markers and now they have refills.
Sharpies are great for mixed media and come with so many different nibs (fine, sharp, bullet, etc.) and work on pretty much every surface. Can't live without my fine tip black Sharpie (I keep at least 2 boxes in my stash at all times).
For acrylic markers, I've started to used Posca pens more - especially after watching a YT video and learning I can use them for splattering too. I also like that they don't smell weird. And they dry quick.
I'm still on the hunt for good but affordable water-based markers. Right now I only have Tombow markers and they are...okay.
