Spellbinder Platinum 6 Handle Unscrews Itself as I use it

Yes this is an easy problem to fix, but the fix is temporary. The screw comes out with every 3rd to 5th pass. Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone improved the issue? How? I have written to Customer Service. Waiting to hear from them. I’m sure I will.

Hi @LindaH61Â I haven't had this issue with my Platinum, however a possible quick fix would be to add a thin "lock washer" between the handle and its screw hole. Lock washers have a "split" that is slightly offset which allows it to "grab hold" when you cinch the handle down. I hope you can get this issue fixed as I'm sure it's a nuisance to reattach the handle every few passes. Good luck to you.

I have had it come out before and just have to tighten it up again. If it is constant contact spellbinders

I have been having the same problem. Spellbinders hasn't been very helpful yet. They told me to buy a new screw, even though I knew that would not help the problem. I have done as they asked, though, and purchased an entirely new handle and screw set, but the screw is coming loose and the handle coming off more and more frequently. I've reached out to them again, and we'll see what they decide to do to make this right.

oh, yes, I had the same problem... wound up breaking the handle completely and broke down and
bought a Big Shot. I am glad to hear I am not the only one. I thought I had put it together wrong.

Did you ever get a successful resolution to your problem? So far I have just gotten stonewalled by Spellbinders for the same issue.

I've started having this issue with my Platinum 6 recently, bought it in 2020 and it's been fine until now. I'm considering using (removable) loctite on the screw to see if it helps.
