New Layouts and Cards for March/ April

  • Scrappin 2

Welcome to the New Layouts and Cards for the months of March and April . We would also love to see any other project, photo or imported images you'd like to share with the group.

The rules for this thread are simple: Post a newly uploaded layout, card or project, get comments and give comments on everyone's pages. No "drop and runs" please. If you get love be kind enough to give love back. Since there are several people here, try not to flood the post with too many LOs or cards. Maybe 5-7 in any post and no daily limit. Follow SB.com instructions for downloading and linking your projects.

Come by and join the fun! This thread has gained a fairly regular following. We enjoy seeing new people come by to share their work and join in the fun! You can join in at any time. Just remember that it is more fun if you give love and get love too!

While this is a laid-back community of artists and crafts people sharing their work and support, it's not a place to just drop off work and not visit the galleries of others in the thread. We encourage you to enjoy all the marvelous talent and leave comments! Should you encounter a problem with another poster in this thread, please PM them directly to ask your question or resolve your issue. The hostesses are not referees and can't step in the middle for you.

This is a collaborative effort. We are rotating the job of hosting the thread. Included in the opening post is the schedule of hostesses over the next couple months. Please volunteer as it is the easiest job you will ever have!

Hi Girlfriends! Guess I still remember how to move the thread!
Thank you Cheryl for reminding me.

Anna- Thank you so much for taking us into the new year.

We need someone to sign up to do May/June, July/August etc....or at least a couple of months.

I plan on doing some housework, laundry and then scrap.
  • Southernlady2
    hello and good morning

well thanks you ann for doing jan/feb and cathe for doing march/april.

hope everyone has a nice sat
  • Cdjohnson
Cathe - Thanks for hosting these two months. You can put me down for May/June.

Anna - Thanks for hosting the last two months
  • OnlyJane
Thanks Anna for doing January/February and Cathe for you doing March/April.

You can put me down for July/August if that is open.
  • Scrappin 2
Should i change the title of the thread so March/ April is first?

I ran to JA today as i thought things were 40% off….it was the way the add read. Anyway it was only 20% off. I bought a box of Park Lane cardstock. It has browns, black, cream. Tan etc. the line to check out was really long, but it only took 15 min.

    I finished a layout.
  • Cdjohnson
Cathe - I don't think you need to change the title. I put the link the previous thread in case anyone couldn't find us.
  • Cdjohnson
  • Terry0773
    Morning....
Thank you Cathe & Anna for hosting!~ (and Cheryl for the link!)

I had volunteered to do May/June but that's ok just put me down for Sept/Oct. The title is fine. In fact better I think as it doesn't blend into all the other March title and threads.
Because I didn't sleep last night until 3AM, and Steve saw it which he usually does, I got a lecture this morning on taking something to make me sleep because (and now I get to see a bogus website news place) stating that there is a 29% higher risk of stroke. Oh brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course I didn't let it go and I should have so an argument ensued. I'm upstairs and it quiet and I like it.

We'll work on put up the bar cabinets today plus laundry and I want to strip our bed, wash the linens, and get under it so see what pictures are there. I have 2 great big copies of oil paintings of dogs and then some prints of Fed Duck Stamps. I have an arrangement in my head for them. Plus I need to Missy proof the bed---she darts under it when she doesn't want to be caught etc. Lots to do!

    bbl

  • Scrappin 2
Cheryl thanks for the link. I didn't forget to do it, I just didn't. Cute card.

I spent all afternoon making birthday cards. By the end of March they will be all gone.

Terry- I know they keep saying how important sleep is, but wonder if you just can't????? I've tired meletonin and magnesium. I will talk to my new female doctor about it once again. She initiated the sleep aphnea test. The guy - doctor- said test showed mild sleep aphnea, so no mask. Which was great I didn't want one.

I washed all our bedding today. Rum has a dental procedure tomorrow. They always want you to sleep on clean sheets the night before. It was time to wash up the blankets and this other thing from Ikea that I have on the bed.
  • OnlyJane
    Good evening, Sunday
    Cooler today but sunny
Did a load of wash today, so exciting, tomorrow is strip the bed and wash the sheets, blankets, ugh especially since it is a king size bed. Not sure what is on tap for this week. Looks like we may get some rain.
Cathe glad you got to make some cards today. So far generally I do sleep good. Once in awhile I toss and turn, but by the next night seem to sleep extra good.
Terry even though Bob has problems with memory he still finds things that I do that annoys him. The latest is when bringing the car in the garage, he has 2x4's on the floor so you know how far to pull in, he claims I put the tires into the wood which is bad for the tires, good grief, and I hear about this day after day. With all the things Baxter has gotten into, he never has gone under the beds to get away, thank goodness. Hope everything goes well while working on your bar cabinets, etc.
Cheryl glad you had a nice day yesterday with Izzy.
    Anna thinking of you, hugs!
Judy and Linda hope your both doing well.
Denise and Danielle hope you both had a good weekend.

    Good night ladies night_with_stars emoji

Thank you for the new thread and for the last thread too!

Yep! I did it last Monday! Gave my notice to the boss that I was not returning and filed for my SS same day. Went back to the office on Thursday and cleaned out my desk and had lunch with the girls I worked with. My doctor took me out of work again until mid April. So I decided to give it up. I'm still waiting for the injection appointment.

Bucky has had more labs and scans and nothing has showed up. He is passing blood; lots of it and you don't need a microscope to see it. Our local doctor is very concerned about that dreaded "C" word. And we have been very concerned too. We meet with our local doctor today for a referral appointment to a specialist. I hope it doesn't take as long to get in as it did for me to get in with neurologist. We haven't discussed any of this with family yet; waiting until we know for sure what is going on.

I've been following along but just not been very talkative.

Hope you all have a great day!
  • OnlyJane
    Good afternoon, Monday March 3rd
So far, a quiet day, changed the bedding, now waiting for the blanket to dry. Now finished paying a few bills, ugh! I swear if the cable goes up anymore, I will need to find out how much just the basic cable runs, we have just the middle offerings which do not include any movie channels.

Anna congrats on retiring. I can imagine this was a hard decision for you, but with so much going on with you, Bucky, your parents, this will work out better in the long run, reduce some stress. Once you get your pain, etc., contained, find out what is happening with Bucky's health issues you will feel so much better and will actually enjoy not having to go to work. Big hugs to you!!!! Oh and I certainly hope Bucky gets an appointment with a specialist quickly.

Will try and get back here when more post.
    Have a nice day ladies!!
  • OnlyJane
Oh, Terry if it works out better for you to put the May/June thread up go ahead and do it. I can do another set of months, really does not matter which ones.
  • Scrappin 2
    Monday

Oh Anna- I will be praying for Bucky. I'm glad you got to retire. It will be one thing off your plate.

Jane- I washed our bedding yesterday....think I said that yesterday. When remaking the bed I thought "Gee I'm glad this is a queen bed and not a king" First married we had a double. A queen sized seemed like heaven. LOL We've never wanted a king. Don't know why

Rum had his gum surgery at 3:00. The doctor called in an antibiotic to Walgreens. The gal said it was called in 20 min. ago. I called Walgreen's to see when it would be ready, they did answer the phone and she said 30 min. We live 20 min South of Walgreens. I didn't want to get home and turn around and have to go back.( I was already there around noon ordering pictures). So we sat in the parking lot. Rum slept. I went in and of course I was told it wasn't ready. It would be 45 min. UGG so we came home. I will have to go back and get it.-in the dark. Rum said he doesn't need it, get it tomorrow. I beg to differ
  • Rockmom
Congratulations, Anna. I'm praying for Bucky.

Cathe, sorry they took so long with the meds. That isn't right. Ugh

Jane, my bedding needs done too. I just got through telling Katie I hoped to get it done tomorrow. She said hers needs it too.
  • Southernlady2
    hello and good morning

well yesterday it rain here little bit and then had little flurry of snow but didn't stick. today the windy here and cold. did the same old stuff take Bella for her walk and then go to the gym and work out. my bottom still is sora little bit.

Congratulations, Anna. I'm praying for Bucky.

Cathe, sorry they took so long with the meds. That isn't right. Ugh i hear you on the meds that like jim they tell it ready then when i get there they say it not and i have to wait little bit.

hope everyone has a nice tuesday
  • Rockmom
Afternoon. We had rain overnight and this morning. It was very windy, blew over the patio chairs!
  • OnlyJane
    Good afternoon, Tuesday
Mostly sunny, 65 with wind and storms expected late night into early morning.
Quiet day, Bob has been working in the garage getting rid of odds and ends, so much useless things. I should not talk though as in the house, full of items that need to go.
Denise, I saw on the news about all the bad weather in Texas, especially the winds. We have been having more high wind gusts lately, right now there is a ban on burning in our area. Apparently, the Carolina's are having some bad fires breaking out.
Danielle sorry you still have some pain from your fall.
Cathe jeepers what a run around you got when trying to pick up Rum's medicine. Did you go back out to get it when it was dark? How is he doing after the gum surgery?

Not many on here again, but everyone is busy or dealing with health issues, so will check back to see who may post.
    Take care everyone, be safe!!!!
  • Terry0773
Hi Ladies. I cannot begin to tell you what is going on outside. It's 63 deg now after this morning's deluge of water (1 1/2 in an hour), lightning, thunder, and tornado warnings left & right. And for about 3 hrs it was sunny and nice except for the 45 MPH winds, which OBTW are sustaining with wind gusts up to 55. But the weirdest part is that the sky is the color of beach sand or for us crafters, light Kraft paper. There is a warning out right now for driving especially trucks and high vehicles. So glad I went shopping yesterday.

    • Anna: Congrats on Retirement!!! It will make your worries less and your stress level go down. Like someone said, with Bucky & your parents plus your own pain, this can only be a good thing for you. Is Bucky taking Eloquis or Cumadin? That's what caused Steve to almost bleed out from a hemmy. I hope you get the answers you need soon too. I need to see an Endocrinologist (diabetes) and finally got a referral call back from one office with a time frame of September for the apt. That is unacceptable and I figure its their way of saying no more patients with Medicare. Anyway if his bleeding gets any worse or more often please call an ambulance right away!
    • Cathe: (and Jane) Put me down for Sept/Oct as it doesn't matter which month I do. I absolutely hate Walgreens and for just that reason. All during Covid it was like that and then they started wanting you to come into the store to pickup as they only had 1 gal to work the window. I had a whole go round with them and wrote a scathing letter to my ins company. Of course Walgreen's denied it all so I walked into the pharmacy and told them in a rather loud voice, how I detested their attitudes and work ethic and they would never ever see another penny of my money or whatever insurance I had. And I walked out to the applause of the 5 people waiting for prescriptions!!! I do hope Rum is feeling better and you got his meds at some point!
    • Cheryl: How are the littles doing?
    • Danielle: is the bottom still sore? I would love to have snow over the tornado warning we had. That scares me!
    • Denise: I was going to ask if you got that heavy rain too because it came from the west.
    • Jane: You keep the May/June months and I'll go later! I'm learning not to voice any comment or suggestion no matter what its on. I just let him run and life is simpler. He's talking about going up to Dallas in April to a convention of submariners which his brother told him about. He was going on and on about this BBQ dinner, etc and I said that I thought he would have a ball doing it. Holy crap....I didn't know I was supposed to accompany him! Boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has always dragged me to stuff like that and then leaves me alone to go mingle. I'm not a mingler so I sit by myself the whole time. I hate those things. At the one in Orlando, we were with about 500 people that I didn't know a soul, Steve left, we were at some air field in the hangers, so after about 3 hours, I went and sat in the bus we came on. He didn't even look for me. Point is I don't want to go! Did our linens too but I still need to do the guest bedroom. hope you had a good day today.

Time to run. Making chicken parm and winter spaghetti for supper.

  • Scrappin 2
    Tuesday
It is cold day. Carole and i met up because she can't the rest of the week. We are leaving Sunday for FL. But we are watching the weather to see what will be going on along the way. With driving we can leave Saturday or Monday. It didn't start raining till Carole and I were done. At that it wasn't a hard rain.
I have a slab of granite on hold. Fastest I've ever chosen anything for the house. LOL The granite is a remnant. I took a vanity drawer with me so I could choose something. There were only two remnants I liked. When I had the gal have the workers pull out the one to see it better I didn't care for it. This will replace the black granite on the 48 " vanity in bathroom off our bedroom. I could have gone to several other places to look for a stone. I usually have to exhaust all possibilities. I just told myself not to do that this time.

Danielle- I think this time of the year is so boring. I think we all feel like we are doing the same ol' thing. Sorry it is taking your rear end to heal up.

Terry- I am so afraid of tornadoes. I worry so about Casey. She doesn't have an interior bathroom to go into.
Love your comparing the color of the sky to scrapping paper. LOL WE get that!

Jane- I went and got Rum's prescription. It really only takes me 11 min. to get to Walgreen's. Guess I was thinking it took longer.
He is fine. I'd be moaning and groaning. The worst thing is he has to swish his mouth with stuff. Of course he has to have soft foods for awhile. That is a problem.

Denise that has got to be some wind to know over the chairs.

  • Cdjohnson
Anna - So happy that you got to retire. I am sorry to hear that they are throwing the "C" word around for Bucky. Understandable that you are not very talkative right now. Prayers for you both!

Cathe - I never heard that you need to sleep on clean sheets the night before. Hope Rum is doing ok now. I detest dental anything!!

Terry - All of my grandkids are doing well.

I have planned a trip to Myrtle Beach for my sister and I the first part of May. I can't wait!!
  • Scrappin 2
Wednesday- a cold day, snow mixed with rain. Wish we were in Florida. We could have gone this week. I forget why we didn't.

I washed up a few things. Then I scrapped.
I got so sleepy about 3:00. Rum had just gotten off his computer and moved to his chair. He turned on a House Hunters Lake bargain. We both fell asleep, but awoke to see the reveal. I've seen that episode a dozen times....well not a dozen, but at least three.

Cheryl- Around here the instructions before surgery suggest clean sheets.
Oh Myrtle Beach will be fun. Is this instead of a cruise?

Rum watches some of the Weather Station in the morning. They reported wind took off part of a High School roof in Plano. Rum texted Casey to ask if it was Kian's HS, but it wasn't. They have branches down at their lake house but it was ok.

  • Cdjohnson
Cathe - Yes, Myrtle Beach instead of a cruise for this year.
  • OnlyJane
    Good Wednesday evening,
A super windy day with rain off and on. Tomorrow will have sunshine but cooler. Today was one of those days that nothing really was accomplished. Just could not get going with anything, so slacked off I guess.
Cheryl how fun to have a trip to Myrtle Beach with your sister.
Terry when going to Boston for conventions with Bob, I disliked attending with him as he would get with his buds and there never was anyone else to mingle with so sometimes I would get something to eat and drink, maybe sit in the lobby or go back to the room (this would be at night so did not want to want to walk outside. Is your best friend going to be able to visit you soon? That would be nice for you. We need to go somewhere. Not sure how things will go with some memory issues, but can't sit in the house forever. Did you get a chance to order some embossing folders?
Cathe what part of Florida are you going to? Will you be seeing Nev while there? I am sure you will enjoy getting away. Glad Casey had no damage from their bad weather. We have lots of branches down in the backyard to pickup due to the high winds too, maybe tomorrow that will get done

    Hi to everyone
    Enjoy your evening

  • Anna C
May be an image of 2 people, people smiling and text that says 'Happiness is not measured in the amount of money you have. It is the people in your life that create wonderful memories!'

    Good morning!

We have snow and wind this morning and it is 25 with wind chills of 13.
The wind has been terrible. Wind took our chairs off the back deck and the grill was also blown off the deck.

Thank you all for the retirement wishes! My stress level has already gone down so much.

Would you believe that July is the earliest we can get in to see our first choice of urologist! We asked to go back to the medical facility where Bucky had his open heart surgery and that is the earliest appointment they have. We left the nurse with our second and third choice of names and numbers. She is trying to get us in sooner somewhere else. We told the nurse if our other choices were not any sooner then we would go to whoever could see us sooner. Haven't heard back from her yet so who knows when Bucky will be seen.

Cheryl, hope you have a wonderful trip to Myrtle Beach. We used to go there a lot but haven't been in many years. Are you staying in Main Myrtle or North Myrtle? We usually stayed in North Myrtle when we went. I have been following the fires there in Myrtle Beach. A lot of damage but so far no loss of life (as of last night). Sadly, the fire was human caused. Just heard on the news while I am typing this that over 2000 acres have burned and is only 45% contained.

Cathe, I hope you have a wonderful trip to Florida. I've never been there. What part are you going to? Where Nev is? Have you adjusted to your new glasses? Loved your latest cards. Like Cheryl, I had never heard of sleeping on clean sheets before going to the dentist for a dental procedure. I had to go see the dentist Tuesday. I was eating some Bit of Honey and pulled out a crown. Thankfully, I didn't do any damage to the crown and it was able to be put back on.

Danielle, I hope the bum is feeling better. Sometimes it can take a while for the area to heal after a fall. Great job on all of your latest cards!

Denise, I'm assuming the winds you all experienced are what we are dealing with now. It's been rough. We've have not lost power but quite a few have.

Jane, I hope you and Bob can take a trip. Mom likes to go for a ride and will ride for an hour or so and then is ready to go back home. Your weather calmed down any?

    Judy, how are you doing?

Linda, how are things up your way? Still snowy and cold. Loved your card!

Terry, your weather sounds awful too. I am fearful of tornadoes too. Bucky is on Plavix and the doctor does not think it has anything to do with the issue. Bucky used to smoke (quit after his first heart attack) and nicotine is so bad for kidneys and bladder.

I hope everyone has a great day. Don't forget to spring forward this weekend!
  • Southernlady2
    hello and good morning

hope everyone has a great thrusday

Hi! Yesterday was so upsetting because I was on the phone with Amazon and then with Capital One all day. Amazon is so hard to find a contact number but I finally got to one lady who was super helpful and informative. Here's what I didn't know. In your Amazon account there are tabs across the top and one says Amazon Pay. Ever heard of it? Apparently what my hackers did was use this area to go off Amazon's site and directly to the merchant's site to buy all $19,449 worth of jewelry. Then because they are an Amzn seller and the hacker had my card from my acct at Amzn, they used Pay to put all the charges on my card. So Pay acts similar to PayPal as a money link. Back to the gal who is helping me. She sent all the information to the investigators who contacted me today saying that they know the acct was definitely hacked, etc. I called again today thru a link they sent and all said & done, Amzn is contacting the CC co to tell them to reverse the charges and this lady today shut done all the merchant's these hackers were buying from including long term subscriptions I didn't even know about. The bad thing that happened yesterday was that Capital One cc said they believed I made those charges and they were not going to reverse it. So I finally asked what did they need to prove my innocence and this manager told me that they needed a police report with a suspect's name on it. What????? On an internet hacked theft? Now with Amzn on board those cc charges should be reversed and removed. Cross your fingers, pray if you do, and I will ask my guardian angel to guide their way to right this.
So at the heart doc apt, his nurse said my BP was 160 and all I said was I'm under extreme stress the last few days. If she only knew!!!! I did have a good apt but I am having to go get a carotid sonogram and a CT heart scan done. He said he heard on the stethoscope good rythym and clear arteries but I was due for those tests.
And today is my sister's birthday and even tho its late, I'm going to make her a card!!! I need the "happy place" I go to when playing with paper.

    • Anna: I'm so sorry that you can't get into the Urologist until July. That's just wrong! Is this a dr Bucky has seen before or are you new patients? I'm playing with that new patient thing with Endocrinology too. I sure hope something good happens for you. I love the sentiment and the photo today. I need a vacation bad!
    • Cathe: I went thru Plano the other day on my trek into Dallas. Hit it right at 9AM and traffic was unreal. I found a lawyer's group if I need to contact them and they sit in the middle of Plano! The weather people suspect there were about 5 small one hit tornados on Tuesday. One it the town 25 mi from us too. Where and when are you headed to FL? How fun!
    • Cheryl: what a great trip you and your sister will have! Bet you are excited.
    • Danielle: spring & summer will be here soon.
    • Denise: Did you not say that the kiddos only have 10 more school days?
    • Jane: I did get 10 embossing folders ordered up and delivered. I know I had way more than that but I just needed a few to start with. I haven't planned anything with Pam yet just the broad "come see me" request. It's the start of the dog events and I know her hubby is dragging her clear down to so CA right now so I'm trying to be patient. I think you need to go on a trip too. Maybe even a Sunday drive somewhere.
    • Hi Linda & Judy....

    Written a book again....sorry
  • Scrappin 2
    Thursday
Busy day here. We had three men here for different things. First was the Pella window rep. He was really nice. I liked that he didn't push to replace our big front window nor the big one in the family room. We had a quote on ten windows......It was either $17.000 or $18000. It depends on financing or not. (or for how long) Pella is running different promotions right now.
Then Fireplace guy bought the log. Come to find out, the starter partially melted. We have to a new control starter. That is not under warranty although the log is. Then guy about where the shed is going. I was napping and heard none of that conversation.

We are going to The Villiages in Florida...where all the retirees live....old people. LOL The Villages are west of Orlando about 1 1/2 hours (I think).
We will not get to see Nev as she is much much further South. She will be home next month.

Anna- They really want Bucky to wait until July??? If it is cancer shouldn't he be seen immediately? Did anyone suggest going to the ER?
    Maybe Cheryl can weigh in.
Sure glad the crown wasn't damaged. Glad to hear your stress level has come down with the decision to retire.

Cheryl- you must be really busy as we haven't heard much from you.

Jane- yes get away even if it is a day or two.

Danielle We are all looking forward to winter weather ending.

  • Scrappin 2
Terry- your post came up as mine did.
OH MY GOSH what an ordeal. Keep that # number for Amazon to get a real person. We all might need it at some point. I will say a prayer you get those charges taken off.
We leave next Sunday for Florida. ..The Villages. We are driving. It will take two full days. We will return on the 17th. I did not want to be on the road on my birthday. That happened in 2020 when Covid shut downs were starting. We could only get a frozen pizza at a gas station for dinner.
  • Cdjohnson
Cathe - Yes, my boss in on vacation and so I am on call 24/7 and this is my weekend for call as well. I also have had a cold for the past two days and by the time I get home I am exhausted. Somehow everything just goes nuts when she is on vacation.

Anna - I assume main Myrtle Beach since it is only a few miles to the Boardwalk and Piers. It is little over 2 hours to drive to Charleston. Some people have suggested we go there and see the plantations.

Terry - Yes, I am excited and ready for a vacation!

    Happy Friday Ladies!

Cathe, you might find you a winter home while you're in Florida! My sister's inlaws were snowbirds and went to Florida every winter before they became unable to. They loved it. Yes, we have considered the ER. However, we feel like they will tell him to follow up with his local dr for a referral.

Cheryl, I've been to Charleston several times. It is a beautiful city so full of history. I know you will have a wonderful time at the beach. I'd like to be taking a walk along the Boardwalk away from this snow and cold! When are you going?

Terry, oh do save that number that got you thru to a human! Like Cathe said, we might need it too! Very glad to hear they were willing to help you. I hope Capital One will stand behind you. Yes, Bucky will be a new patient and I'm sure that is part of the issue. A referral is required from our doctor's office and they are working on getting him in anywhere they can within a two hour driving range. His records have been sent to three different doctors and now we are waiting to hear from them. They are to call us with an appointment. Whenever each calls, I am booking an appointment and will take the earliest one.

Danielle, are you still getting cold and snowy weather? I saw on the news that we are going to be in the 60s next week and could hit 70! I hope they aren't lying!

Hello to everyone else and have a wonderful Friday!

    Friday

Cheryl- we Grams really missed your morning GIF. Sorry to hear you are under the weather.
We were in Charleston one summer. It was so hot I thought I'd die. I loved walking around and seeing the homes. Of course Rum wouldn't pay to go in any of them. We went out to Ft. Sumpter, but if you get motion sickness you might not like the boat ride to get there. The graveyard was cool.

Anna that is a beautiful GIF or whatever they are called.
Gee hope some doctor will take Bucky on as a patient. AND i hope and pray that doctor is a good one.
    70* next week! Nice!
I could see us renting a condo or apt for a month in Florida to try it out. I wouldn't want a second home. It would be really nice to be in the Villages by Rick and Lynette, yet I'd like to be on the beach.

We will leave Sunday. We will have to wake up to an alarm and get going. We will have to travel 9 hours each day. That is a lot for us.
Of course next week the weather here is going to be delightful...in the middle 60's. It snowed today. .....just really wet.

Friday, cloudy all day, windy in afternoon
Once again a quiet day, did seem long. Hopefully tomorrow we will have some sunshine. Bob did go out in the backyard and pick up all the branches that fell from the high winds this week.
Anna, great gif you put on here today. So sorry it is taken so long for Bucky to find a doctor, just not right. Finding good medical care is getting harder and harder. These big doctor groups are run by corporations whose bottom line is to make money above all. All in doctors have to follow the rules, they have only so much time to spend with each patient, time frame for certain tests, etc. Also insurance companies play a big part in what doctors can do. It is a mess and we all get caught in it. No way should Bucky have to wait for treatment.
Cathe enjoy your vacation to Florida, have a safe trip and hope the weather is perfect.
Terry sure hope you get the final fraud charges reversed. What a mess! Way too many bad people out there these days, Enjoy working on some art projects again. Glad you got some new embossing folders.
    Cheryl hope your feeling better.

Hi to all not mentioned, Danielle, Denise, Judy and Linda

Good night, enjoy the weekend and stay safe

Saturday - I am feeling better. Izzy is here today. We took a short nap. I am staying for supper at Priscilla's house to see Zeke and Zoey. We are going to order pizza.

Cathe - There is a lot involved when my boss is gone because I have to look at all the reports we received over night and run morning huddle at 8:00. Of course, I am the only one to call for issues which came up frequently this week. I went in at 6:30 and three days didn't leave until 5 or later. It has been exhausting!! I don't know if there was a full moon or what.

    Saturday
My sister came over this afternoon. We chatted a long time. With her still working (she is almost 64) it is hard to get together. Plus she goes to her son and DIL's on Tuesdays. She likes to help with the 11mos. old. But it's about an hour or so to their house, so it is an all day thing.

We are all packed. Since we drive I can take whatever I want. I always over-pack. Not sure how much I will be able to check in here over the week. So I hope everyone stays well and those not well get well!! Praying someone gets Bucky into the doctor.

My crock pot dinner isn't done. The potatoes and carrots are still hard. It has been on low for 5 hours. I turned it up to high about an hour ago. I'm hungry.

Jane- Glad Bob got the branches and sticks picked up.

Cheryl- Glad you are feeling a bit better. I bet Zoey and Zeke are happy to see you.

Oh interesting store is opening in downtown Rockford. It's a resale shop for scrapbookers!! I will have to check it out when I get home. I'm not sure where it is. Parking could be an issue.

    Stay safe, stay well.

    Cathe - Enjoy your trip!

Anna - My sister and I are going to Myrtle Beach May 3-10.

    Good morning, Sunday
Hope everyone changed their clocks, spring forward!
    Have a great day!!

Hi....Didn't do a lot yesterday mainly just watching Emma's games and started a birthday card for my sister. Pam, BFF, called and we she's coming out to see us! So I did spend time figuring out hotels and things to do. She bought us (me & her) tickets to see Mama Mia play in Dallas. So the two of us will stay in Dallas on the day after she gets here to see the play and to go to the Dallas World Aquarium and whatever shopping we can squeeze in. Then the next day we move over to Ft Worth and pretty much discover the Stockyards and watch the longhorns parade. Also some shopping there if she wants. Then we come here to the house for 3 days and I take her back. I may have to hog tie her to stay! I'm excited!!!
Steve threw a really quick but bad temper trantrum last night --I won't bore you with the details or the name calling. This morning I called him on it and he did apologize. I honestly don't think he remembered it much....

Anna: any luck yet on a dr for Bucky?
Cathe: have a safe trip and a fun one too! Sorry I didn't get in to send you off...
Cheryl: boy that sure does sound like a hectic week. Are you sure you want that job as I'm remembering you applied for it. Glad you got to spend time with the grands. Do you see Mattie much anymore?
Danielle: is your snow melted? We had ferocious thunder/lightning and rain storms all day yesterday. Plus the high temp was 43 deg. Is your bum healing?
Denise: did you get to go to a mineral show this weekend? I saw some FB postings....
Jane: Luckily we don't have the big trees yet in the yards but there's some evergreen looking ones on the other side of the fence. Those 50 mph winds we had recently had those trees bending for dear life. I only want shrubs for the yard plants and to get rid of the 2 small trees in the front yard. Both are some kind of oak and the yard isn't big enough for those type of trees. I need to get a plan of some kind of landscaping together so we can start working on that.
Funny you should talk about the spring forward. Steve received an area rug today for his office and while he lifted the desk I was to put about 2 inches of rug under the feet of the desk. Well, my center of gravity gave way and over I rolled. Old ladies should not be doing this stuff!
    Hi Judy n Linda.

Tomorrow is finally the day that I have scheduled to get my TX drivers license. It took 3 months to get that apt!!! No testing or driving but they want every document you can imagine including the title to your car. Odd! Then Tues Steve gets his and Willow (his lab pup) goes to the vet. Wed my last pc of office furn comes and Cricket and Missy go to the vet while on Thurs they both go to the groomer. Busy week ahead!.
  • Cdjohnson
Terry - I love my job but when it is crazy it is time consuming!! Most weeks are not like this week. I am sure there was a full moon. I did not check. I do not see a lot of Maddie. She is 16 and has her permit and hangs out with her friends. We text each other occasionally.

    Good afternoon, Monday
Cloudy - 52, no rain expected until Thursday
Start of another week, time seems to be flying by these days. So far today it has been quiet, without much going on, just doing normal household chores.
Tomorrow hope to get out and about. Still have not gone to J's to see what they have. Need to go to HL to see what they have for Easter, not that I need anything, but need to find a few items for Aria. Easter is late this year so there still is time to look. Next week is our school system's spring break along with UT's break.
Cheryl your latest card is so cheerful looking. Hope this week is not a crazy one for you at work.
Terry oh how fun Pam is coming for a visit, you both will enjoy the time so much, just what you need. What you have planned sounds fantastic. When you mentioned about putting the rug under part of Steve's desk it reminded me the other day Bob asked if I could help him get the trash buggy to the curb as it was so heavy, what, anyway I pushed it down for him, did not think it was that heavy. Oh my, guess I am considered the movers of all things these days. Glad you weren't hurt from falling.
Anna how did your weekend go?
Denise hope everything is ok with you and family.
    Danielle how was your weekend?
Cathe hope your trip down to Fla. is going well.
Judy and Linda hi to you both

Have a good rest of the day and evening!!

Monday - I started trying to start my run/walking today. 1.5 miles completed. It was 70 today and a beautiful afternoon when I got home.

Jane - Today was busy trying to catch Cindy up on all the things that happened while she was gone.

    Good morning!

Did you all take a nap yesterday??? I really wanted to but didn't. I prefer this time change over the other but it does take a few days to adjust.

Bucky does have an appointment! Doctor's office called late Friday, and they were able to get him on Monday the 17th. So thankful our doctor was able to get Bucky in so soon. And I got the call yesterday for my injection on May 9.

Cathe, hope you are having a wonderful time in Florida.

Cheryl, I'm sure after last week you are counting down until your beach trip. I haven't made it outside to walk yet.

Danielle, how are things out your way?

Denise, hope all is well with you and yours.

Jane, we had a good weekend. Hope you enjoy your time out and about today.

Judy, hope you are doing well.

Linda, what's your weather like? Hope you are done with the snow.

Terry, sounds like you have a wonderful itinerary planned for Pam's visit. So glad she gets to visit. Get your Texas DL?

Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!

  • Terry0773
Morning. Got Willow to the vet this morning along with Steve helping. She needed all her 1st year shots and yes I dropped a couple of hundred for all that. Texas is an area that does have heart worm so we got that started too. Tomorrow I take Missy & Cricket in for the same thing. It's just that time of year. I do not vaccinate Kip as she's almost 10 and there just isn't any reason to.
Steve goes for his DL today too. I did mine yesterday and after filling out forms plus bringing in everything that proves I'm who I say I am, they hand me an 8 x 10 pc of paper and said my actual lic will come in 3 wks. I'm not allowed to cut it up and laminate it either. Didn't have to take a written or drivers test so that's good.
Making chili for supper using the left over pot roast and hamburger. And I do add 1 can beans to the whole pot. Apparently here there is a great debate whether or not beans go into chili. That cracks me up!

Anna: so very glad you both got your dr apts, especially that Bucky's is very soon. Your gif today is very meaningful!
    Cathe: having a good trip?
Cheryl: I bet it did take quite some time to tell your boss all that went on.
Danielle: when is it your mom is coming out? May?
Denise: How is school going? Are you almost done?
Jane: I read a story yesterday about how a liquidator bought out JoAnn's and that's why the sales aren't much right now. Several instances of them putting on a much higher price tag and then "discounting" that price to reflect a "sale". Cheats! I won't go back. I hated JoAnn's fabrics anyway and their threads were almost gone as was anything to do with the Cricut. I did buy 1 carrier sheet for it but that's all. Why can't they just be honest and put up a real 40% off. Like I said the TX DL will come in 3 wks so I folded the paper one. There's no other way to carry the thing. It is a funny thing with hubbies. You let them know you can do one thing and then they have several ways to get you to do that all the time. Ours was mowing the lawn. For 30 years I mowed it and hauled the clippings into the forest. Only because he didn't have time between work & running or training dogs. Hey, I worked, cleaned, paid bills, ran errands. That didn't count. So when he retired I flat told him it was his turn now and the first thing he did was go out and hire Emma to do it! then he bought her a brand new super duper lawn tractor. I must have been chopped liver for 30 years!!! Next week when the trash needs moved, I'd have a "boo boo" that won't allow it.
    Judy: how are you feeling?
Linda: are you working on a junk journal?

    Ok...off to finish a card.

    Good afternoon, Tuesday
Sunshine galore, mid 60's for the temperature, may make 70
Well did not get out, once again slept in late and that throws my day off so need to stop that now. Will try for tomorrow. Bob is working on taxes, oh boy he has papers spread all over the kitchen counters and table. He cannot do them downstairs as it is too cold, well he could turn on the gas logs, just saying. So he is in my way big time, am in the computer room for now hiding out.
Terry glad you just have to wait for your license to arrive now. Vet visits, they sure have gone up in price just like everything else. Baxter is good until November. He does go to the groomer near the end of this month though. I have had chili both ways, with beans and w/o, seem to like it better w/o the beans. It will be interesting to see if I will be asked to roll the trash buggy down to the street again, I swear just never know anymore what request will be made next, keeps life interesting, not!!!!
Anna so glad you got the dr. appointments for both of you!! Really like your gif today, so true!! Did Bucky fully retire? I know he was thinking about it, or just working part time. No nap yesterday, so far have not taken up on a nap per day.
Cheryl glad you were able to start your walking/running routine.

Have a great day and evening, tonight is FBI night.

I haven't read back yet, but right away I see Jane has sunshine galore and a nice temp. Well, in not-so-sunny San Diego, we have rain and a temp of 56 and repeat, repeat, repeat throughout the week.

I never do anything worth mentioning. I guess about three weeks ago while I was at a doctor's appointment, a couple of people came in and managed to turn my craft table completely around and pull it to the opposite side of the room. I don't know if they turned it so I could continue to use it, but it's not close to the bed where I toss things I'm not going to be using and all of my rolling carts are everywhere around the room, so no, I'm not crafting. I thought it would all be put back quickly. A nice guy came and fixed the watered-down ceiling and was waiting for the repair to dry so it could be painted. The next week was nice and sunny, but I heard that the crew was working on the other house that the director has. Nice. Maybe finish one before starting on the other, but it might have been a rush job, with falling-down ceilings. I don't know. What I do know is that my completely dry ceiling sat here for a week, then what? Yep, it rained. I woke up with a towel and a bucket on the floor near my head, to the tune of drip, drip, drip. So now I have a bigger area that needs fixing than there was before. And now it's supposed to rain for most of March, I think. So much for the cute Easter papers and embellishments that I bought for card making.

I had OT this morning and we talked about all kinds of things. As he was leaving, I reminded him that I have a rheumatology appointment next Tuesday, so don't put me on the Tuesday list. He said, "Oh, you're done. You've graduated out of OT." I'm not sure how much change there has been, but maybe it's all I can do. Although my goal was to be able to put my own hair up in back and I'm not there yet. I guess I flunked.

When I was at my pulmonary doctor, the two doctors asked me if I had ever considered losing weight. Well, yeah, who hasn't at some point in their life? They said they thought I would do good with one of the injection meds. They said even a little bit of weight loss would help get rid of fat around the lungs and heart that are making it hard for me to breathe. I talked it over with my primary and he wrote a prescription for Ozempic. At first CVS didn't have it. Amazon said they don't have it at all, so sounds like they just don't carry it. My granddaughter-in-law gets hers at Costco and suggested it. If I can mess things up I will. I don't have a Costco membership, so I went online to their mail order pharmacy. I got it ordered, but had put a note that if there was a way to have it close-by pharmacy fill it, them my granddaughters were wanting to pick it up for me. Of course they didn't understand my weird note, so called and I said sent to a local store, that would be great. Just about then I got a text from CVS that my Ozempic was ready to be delivered. Wait! Stop! You said you didn't have it. Anyway, my granddaughter and wife picked it up at their local Costco yesterday and brought it up to me. They said they had been talking about visiting me more. They stopped at Carl's Jr. (Hardees). Bought me an avocado double burger, fries, and Coke. I've never had a double burger in my life and here I am starting a weight-loss program. sweat_smile emoji I have a bit over a half left for tonight. It was really good and it was so much fun to visit with them. 2-1/2 year old Lucas is my great grandson and is just so cute and full of energy. I told Christina that he definitely isn't a terrible 2, but he IS 2. lol

So, I think that's about all that is going on around here. Hope you're all having sunny, dry weather.~Judy
  • Mrsdriver5
Cathe, I'll be happy to be the hostess for Nov/Dec as long as you remind me and someone tells me what I need to do. I'm old, but still pretty trainable. lol

I went back to the beginning of the March/April postings and am now caught up for the month.

Anna, glad that the appointments for you both came through. It will be good to get some good answers for Bucky. I've been there and know how agonizing the worrying is.

Terry, you need to show a car registration to get your DL? What if you don't own a car? Jini's MIL has a granny apt. attached to their house. She doesn't own a car, but she does drive one of theirs quite often for appointments and shopping.

I know y'all wrote lots of things going on, but my brain is blank.
