Best Sewing Machine for Scrapbooking

  • Jenny20
Can anyone recommend a user friendly beginner sewing machine for papercrafts (scrapbook layouts, mini albums & embellishments)?

I have this one and it does what I need it to.

Can you say a bit more about just what you'd like to sew? There are a few manufactures who produce sewing machines made for crafting. However, I have found that, it's much more about "how to" sew on paper rather than which sewing machine you choose to use. For example, a very sharp needle is necessary for clean paper piercing when sewing on paper. I have used several different machines (Brother, Singer, JC Penny's, etc.) to sew around layouts and card bases, all of which perform just fine so long as I use a sharp needle and periodically clean out the paper dust from the bobbin case. There are numerous YouTube video's on how to sew on paper, which offer tips and tricks for beginners. You may want to check a few of them out before you decide which sewing machine is best suited for your needs. I hope this helps. Wishing you the best.

I went with purchasing a Singer M1500. Thanks for the tip to use a sharp needle. I'm looking to use it for scrapbook layouts, stitch paper embellishments to add texture and card bases.
