Welcome to the New Layouts and Cards for the months of November and December. We would also love to see any other project, photo or imported images you'd like to share with the group.

The rules for this thread are simple: Post a newly uploaded layout, card or project, get comments and give comments on everyone's pages. No "drop and runs" please. If you get love be kind enough to give love back. Since there are several people here, try not to flood the post with too many LOs or cards. Maybe 5-7 in any post and no daily limit. Follow SB.com instructions for downloading and linking your projects.

Come by and join the fun! This thread has gained a fairly regular following. We enjoy seeing new people come by to share their work and join in the fun! You can join in at any time. Just remember that it is more fun if you give love and get love too!

While this is a laid-back community of artists and crafts people sharing their work and support, it's not a place to just drop off work and not visit the galleries of others in the thread. We encourage you to enjoy all the marvelous talent and leave comments! Should you encounter a problem with another poster in this thread, please PM them directly to ask your question or resolve your issue. The hostesses are not referees and can't step in the middle for you.

This is a collaborative effort. We are rotating the job of hosting the thread. Included in the opening post is the schedule of hostesses over the next couple months. Please volunteer as it is the easiest job you will ever have!

    Good morning ladies!
So sorry I was late getting the thread up. I was thinking I had Jan/Feb and didn't realize it was my turn until Cheryl mentioned it. Thanks for the reminder Cheryl.

Cathe, so your school was open for voting but school was not dismissed? Schools here close for election day but schools are no longer used as polling places anymore. Fire houses and community centers are primarily used here now. Plus our county allows us to vote early too. You can go to the county office and they have an area set up just like at the actual polls. You can vote early starting in mid September. We always take advantage of early voting.

Terry, hope you have had a wonderful time with your friends!!

Denise, so Cooper does not have an actual diagnosis for ADHD? Is your mother still getting up and about?

Linda, how are you and Rene doing?

    Danielle, how are you?

Jane, hope you and Bob are doing well. Looks like both our teams lost over the weekend.

Had my ablation yesterday. My neck and shoulder are still very sore so can't tell how much it helped. I was sedated this time and I slept most of the way home. Our weather has been in the low 30s and maybe making it to 50 but they say we will see some 60s this week before the next cold front moves in. When it gets here our highs will be in the 30s and could see some snow!
  • Rockmom
    Hello.

Thanks for the new thread Anna. I'm hoping the procedure helps your pain!

No diagnosis for Cooper. His parents don't want to use medicine as we have so many allergies in our family. We are all deadly allergic to penicillin and several others. Just about all antibiotics.

  • Scrappin 2
Thank you Terry for hosting the last two months. Anna thanks for taking over.

Anna- not problem being a day or two late. Heck I know each time it's my turn Cheryl has to remind me. LOL
Hope the shot really, really helps you!
Want to keep me down for March/April to move the thread? Maybe I will remember since Mar is my birthday month. LOL

Jane- Do you type on a phone? I like to use my computer to come into the thread. My chair is comfy. The screen is large and I rarely loosed a post.

Denise- With all those allergies in the family, I sure understand why Cooper's parents don't want the risk of trying a drug.

Carole and I met up today. We went to Target and Bath and Body. We chose to eat at the mall and walk thru Macy's. I need a thinner black sock to wear over the compression sock....otherwise my foot slips in my shoes. They had SO few. We decide to look at Kohl's next trip out. We could have gone to Penney's but by then I had walked an awfully lot.
  • Terry0773
Hi all I'm back and it was hectic today with groceries, bills, voting, etc. I haven't really even unpacked yet as everything will be washed and I wasn't home to accomplish that. We voted at a church just down the road and all schools were in attendance today.
We had such a great time! Got to see friends from GA, KS, TX, OR, WA, CA, and just about every state on the eastern sea board. Our buddies from OR are still playing and the dogs are doing fantastic. We never left the test sites so I didn't get to go see the museum. What's funny is we stayed in Bastrop and it was 30 mi one way to the 1st test, 30 mi one way to LaGrange where Pam was staying, and 45 mi to the test site for #2 & #3 tests (ne of Giddings). The first 3 days we put on 260 mi just going from one test to another to see our friends. But it is always good to get home and resettled.

    • Anna: I forgot about switching hostesses too. Thanks for taking it on. Good to hear you are doing well after the ablation was done! Hope it helps.
    • Cathe: You wear socks over the compression socks? I have 3 pr of knee hi compression socks that are like a 1970 neon pattern. I'd die of embarrassment wearing those out. Can't wait to see the wedding LOs. Poor Oakley! It's so hard to see kids struggle in school.
    • Cheryl: With all the time Izzy spends with you I wouldn't have guessed spending the night would upset her. How is work?
    • Danielle: you okay?
    • Denise: Yep, growing up in CO we learned right off that Colorado means "color red" and the state was named such for the red rocks there including Red Rocks Amphitheater. Interesting info tho on the TX river named Colorado! I'm going to print that out for Steve as it really perplexed him. We all were having troubles with Google Maps and Garmins down there for some reason. Even coming home I wanted to go 35W North but the first part of the trip Google had me on 95/21 going thru all these tiny towns. It was definitely dubbed "see TX route". I'm so sorry that Cooper struggles too. How frustrating for everyone.
    • Jane: You should try Anna's way of typing it all up in Word and then pasting it here. Hoping all is well.
    • Linda: is all ok with you and Renee now?

I'm sorry I'm hurrying here but its time to start supper. And of course with the time change I'm starving! (i could live off the "fat of the land" for a few days!)
  • Cdjohnson
Anna - You can put me down for January/February. Thanks for the new thread. I only knew it was your turn because I was looking to see if I was supposed to be doing it.

Terry - I was surprised that she woke up saying she missed them too! Work is crazy busy. There is a meeting middle of November to decide if they are promoting me or not. They may as well as I am doing all the work. The girl that is supposed to help me "part time" really only helps "occasionally" which is not her fault as she has a full time job!!

Cathe - Glad you and Carole are getting out. Have you started Christmas shopping? I have bought things for Zoey, Izzy and Zeke. Other than my parents and sister and brother-in-law everyone else just wants cash. Not fun!!

Denise - Sorry about no diagnosis for Cooper. Izzy gets tested next week for ADHD.

    Hello to everyone else!
  • OnlyJane
    Good Tuesday evening,
Today was sunny and warmer 62, so nice to see the sunshine.
Anna thank you for putting up the last thread for this year!! This year is just going by so fast. Terry thank you for the September/October thread.
Yesterday went out, returned my demo hearing The dr. was nice and she did not try to sell me anything. I asked her what the price was for the ones I was trying and she said 7,000.00. I thought to myself good thing I did not know they were that expensive or I would not have wanted to wear them. Anyway now will look for something less expensive, Costco here I come. After that, headed for Michael's to see what was new, they were putting out Christmas items. They did have some new small Christmas pads, but they had less pages in them. Their self check outs were down so a cashier had to do the checking out. She was so unfriendly, did not even say thanks for shopping here or have a good day. I swear no one wants to work anymore. From there went into our new Barnes and Noble, oh my what a nice store, had so many books, magazines, gift ideas, Christmas items, etc., the cashier was super friendly, helpful, etc., I will be going there plenty of times. Final stop Kroger's, same old, same old. We had a good time Sunday celebrating Aria's 7th birthday. She sure is growing up, very polite, helpful. She is doing good in school, her teacher for speech told my dil she is almost finished with the special class, just needs a little work of her r's and that is it!
Anna glad you had your procedure on your neck. Sorry your sore, take it easy! Yes our Vol's lost to the Sooners. Our weather is suppose to be nice all this week, no rain chances until Friday. The trees are getting really colorful now.
Denise those costumes the grands had for Halloween sound so cute. Sorry Cooper struggles with school work, so glad you figure using music with some of his learning. Sorry you had allergy problems while shopping. I don't blame you and your family not wanting to take much different medicines due to everyone's allergies. How is your Mom doing, still getting up and wanting to eat?
Cathe glad your getting out, but also trying not to overdo with lots of walking. You reminded me that I need to go to Bath and Beauty, need some bubble bath. Hard to find any but in that store. I do like to type on my desk top, plus I have a large monitor. My laptop seems to have a sensitive keyboard but I am comfortable in my recliner, the phone is so small and takes me longer to type on.
Cheryl it sounds like Izzy is really happy with being with her mommy and daddy. I think if Aria stayed overnight right now she would want to go back home in the middle of the night. How are Zoey and Zeke doing, do they spend the weekend with their dad? I do have a few gifts for Christmas for our boys and dil's but nothing yet for Aria. I want to get Christmas things all done early this year but I say this every year and seem doing everything at the last minute.
Terry glad your back and glad you had a great time with meeting up with many friends from other years. I agree it is always good to be home after traveling. Baxter got groomed and looks so good. Now to make his appointment for his yearly checkup.
Linda how are you and Rene doing?

For those of you who do Facebook have you seen Danielle on there? I know once in awhile she disappears but it is usually some problem with her computer or internet.

Think I finally got caught up. Have a good evening!
    Good night
  • Scrapperb2
1:00 am, Wednesday already. I've been up with Rene as he is in so much pain it's terrible. He had an MRI and stress test Monday, Tuesday was his physician today I need to check. Last Friday was a 2 hour drive to Concord orthopedic for his knee replacement. We spent some time shopping at Michaels, I bought two more Lemax pieces for the Christmas display they were 40 percent off. They have nothing for scrapbook paper etc We ate at Olive Garden, it was just okay for me.
I'm stressed about all the things I have to do. Rene does less and less therefore I have pick up the slack. Holidays are coming and thankfully Carrie is doing Thanksgiving . I'm only buying toys for AJ and Scotty, Maegen gets birthday money and two weeks later it's Christmas money. I give gift cards to others. I don't know if we will put up a tree this year.
Jane....hearing aids are very expensive. Rene is hard of hearing and bought the "deal" and he won't wear them! I love Barnes and Nobles, I have an account there and buy books for my tablet, but I love to feel the paper and turn pages. My great grandsons are starting a nice library of books even though they are little.
Anna ...I hope your neck is doing better since you had the procedure.
Denise....I think it is so difficult to see a child strain school. My daughter was born with eye disabilities and fell behind in early education. She had both eyes operated on and lots of eye therapy before fitting her with glasses in second grade. Thankfully with my help she caught up nicely. Rene has terrible allergies especially penicillin and golden rod. When we were in FL Kevin came down with a bad cold. We got home and the dr. Put him on it and it almost killed him, the ER we went.
Terry...glad you are back home. You sure are busy these days. Any more dog shows coming up?
Cathie ...glad you are getting around better. I think so many stores are closing because the young generation orders everything on line. It's sad to see empty malls, even movie theaters are closing.
    Hello Cheryl and Danielle

    Good morning ladies!

Cheryl, I have you down for Jan/Feb, and Cathe I have you down for Mar/Apr. I will take Nov/Dec again '26.

Linda, so sorry Rene is feeling so bad. I hope he can get some relief soon. Hugs!

Jane, I enjoy going into Barnes and Noble too but I rarely buy a book anymore. I prefer to download them on my Kindle. We paid over $6,000 for Bucky's hearing aids. Ouch!!! I hated to dish out that much but he really needed them. My parents have hearing aides and won't wear them and it is a screaming match when we visit them so I wasn't about to let that happen to us!

Cheryl, I hope you officially get the promotion.

Terry, sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your friends. Does the soul good doesn't it?

I can honestly say that the ablation has made a huge difference. Yesterday I was still pretty sore but today my neck and arm are feeling so much better today. This process only took 11 months to the day! And it should last for about a year and will probably have to have it done again.

Hope everyone has a great day. Gotta get dinner in the crock pot, laundry, and put up my Halloween decor.
  • OnlyJane
    Good afternoon, Wednesday
Nice and sunny today, and it is also windy
Not much going on, trying now to get bills paid, making a few phone calls for appointments, etc.
Anna love the image today! You can put me down for May/June. So glad your neck/arm are feeling so much better. My hearing loss is normal for aging, so will try a cheaper aid, if my hearing should get worse will definitely look for a better aid. What is bothersome to me is how long they may last, 3 to 7 years does not sound good especially for the expensive ones, oh well it is what it is. I need to put up Halloween items also. Think though will keep the glass pumpkins thru Thanksgiving, unless I decide to put up the Christmas tree early this year.
Linda so sorry Rene is in so much pain. Hope today will be better for him. Just do what you can, try not to fret about what you can't. I know, it is hard to abide by those words.

Not many on yet, so will close and try to finish up with phone calls and bill paying.
    Have a good day everyone!!!!
  • Rockmom
    Sweet image, Anna!

Ah, I'm sorry Rene is si much pain.

Anna, happy to hear your neck feels better!

    Jane, you're busy too

I'm waiting for mom's nurse to come and the kids ride to church too.

Vacuumed the main rooms up and down stairs. Taught school. Washed dishes. Made lunch. Worked on Christmas cards. I finally found a design I like. It's a whole lot of weeding on the cuts. It too 10 minuets to cut 2 of the same image. It's intricate.
  • Scrappin 2
    Wednesday

I scrapped. I will have to put some in my gallery. I haven't been doing them in order and it kind of drives me nuts. I did some 'after the ceremony' before the ceremony. But that is on my desk top.

Cheryl- They had better promote you after all your had work, or I'm comin' down there!!!!
I was so surprised Izzy wanted to go home.

Jane- Casey went to speech to correct her r's. She did not like getting pulled out of class.
It is so nice that Aria is polite and helpful.

Linda- sorry Rene is in so much pain. Is it his knee? When is surgery? or did that happen? Follow Jane's advice. Just do what you can and ask for help.

Denise- pick a different design! ten min. to cut two images is too much trouble. But I bet they are pretty.

Anna- so glad the ablation is working. Thank heavens!

Terry- Glad you got to see so many of your dog trial peeps.

Danielle- come back in!! we miss you. Garden all cleared out? I watch the squirrels bury nuts in the neighbor's tomato bed. They are so cute.

Rum and I ran out to a meat market on the other side of town. They are a very interesting place. It's in an old neighborhood.

  • Southernlady2
i just came in to say hello. sorry i haven't been on here. hope everyone have a nice Wednesday
  • Rockmom
    Hi Danielle!!

Cathe, the silhouette is doing the cutting. I did the weeding. I have that all finished.
  • Terry0773
Morning! I didn't even get up to my office yesterday as I was unpacking, doing all that laundry, searching for a new chicken recipe and I got hooked on watching Dark Wind on Netflix. Zahn McClaron is a fantastic actor and the stories were written by Tony Hillerman. I so rarely just sit and binge watch TV shows.
The dog event is still going and out of the 7 dogs run by 3 of our friends, one dog was dropped yesterday. Apparently she wanted to go somewhere that Michael didn't want her to go and she "flipped" him off. It's all in the game! I sometimes think a dog gets tired and knows if it disobeys the handler then the dog doesn't play anymore.
Steve is down at the hospital right now getting some pre-surgery tests done. Then on the 11th he's scheduled to have 3 of those boil type things removed.

    • Anna: Love the gif! Put me in for hosting May/June. Being with friends really does lift your spirits! I even had a text from DGD Emma yesterday so we chatted for awhile. And DS Aaron emailed me links to the wonderful photos he took when he went to Spain & parts of Italy the first 2 wks in Oct. So now that I've touched base with them and our friends I feel refreshed!!! And Steve's been good too... How is Bucky doing? And your Mom? One of our TX friends was telling me about her poor mom who is now in mid-Alzeheimer's state. My heart just breaks for people who endure that.
    • Cathe: Well, I will say I totally agree with you on doing LOs in chronological order. I started skipping around when I was doing LOs for Aaron & Danny. I found photos I wanted to do after I found a LO theme or idea. Like the football ones were way before the 7 yrs old ones. And now that I have all my cards done I want to get back to doing LOs soon. Still have to address & stamp cards and then I'm done. I also had trouble with r sounds but we didn't have speech therapy back then. Mom talked to my 1st grade teacher and I had to repeat this phrase every day: Rosy the riveter ran with racing rhinos. That was one I remembered because I could never quite picture racing rhinos!!!
    • Cheryl: I should say they better give you that job along with the title and the pay!!!
    • Danielle: come back in and let us know what's up.
    • Denise: A couple of years back I made Steve a set of dolphins ---the submariner's symbol. They have patches for their uniforms with this but I found an SVG file on Etsy and made these from vinyl for the back window of his pickup. I swear I had to weed hundreds of small parts. But they look fantastic and have lasted for over 4 years. Even with dies sometimes weeding takes forever. I'm sure the design will be awesome. Is your mom still feeling ok?
    • Jane: Those dang hearing aids! They didn't tell us years ago that the $12,000 ones for both of us would be outdated within 5 years. Or so they claim. One sure way of making sure there is income, right? Then he gets this wild idea that the Audien Pro for $600 would be great as you program them from an App. Yea ok but they still don't fix my hearing loss but they do make it easier to hear people in the car. Did Aria like her birthday gifts you got her?
    • Linda: Very sorry that Rene isn't doing well. I know what you mean about picking up the slack that our hubby's can't or won't do anymore. It's hard on us sometimes too as we don't have the strength to get some of that accomplished. Don't hurt yourself and ask for help if you need it. I wish someone would cook Thanksgiving dinner for me!!!

Gina K has some special super surprise she's revealing at noon today. Gotta make sure to watch as I may want it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Southernlady2
    hello and good morning

well i be taken my silhouette cameo with me when i go to California and see if me and my mom can get it to work. • Rockmom
Danielle. Hope your mom can help you with the silhouette.

  • Scrappin 2
    Thursday

Terry so happy you're home safe and sound. Nice you caught up with Emma.
Some dogs are really smart. so it doesn't surprise me that they would goof upon purpose.

Danielle so glad to hear from you. Do you mind being home alone?
Is your mom good at fixing things?
Men are so hard to buy for.

I haven't started my xmas cards! But the SU bundle came and that is what I am using.

  • Anna C
    Good morning!

Danielle, good to see you check in. Enjoy your alone time!

Jane, they told Bucky he'd get 8 years out of his hearing aids. Sure hope so!

Terry, May/June has been claimed. How about July/Aug or Sept/Oct?

Hello to all not mentioned. Got a busy day ahead and having lunch with some friends too!

  • Terry0773
    Morning---
Anna: Do July/August as I'm hoping to be on a cruise in Oct. Thanks!
Cathe: Are you talking about the snowflake set you mentioned earlier? Gina K Designs big surprise is a huge box with 12 envelopes that are to be opened one a day like an Advent Calendar. And during those 12 days, she'll be online showing what to do with that surprise product. However, I didn't get it because it was $130 and I like to know I want something before buying!! A mistake? Maybe.... Are you headed out today?
Danielle: I hope your mom can fix it. Have you talked to someone at Silhouette in case its a software problem?
Denise: I just absolutely cracked up over that Texas video. Sooo true and sooo funny. The funniest part to me was his description of Buc-ees! For those of you on here that don't know or have never been to a Buc-ees it is an experience unlike any other. Here's how the guy described it: You head out to get gas and end up at Buc-ees with 79 gas pumps, bigger than most airports, a man who carves brisket like he was a surgeon, and you leave with an armload of Buc-ee merchandise, a grill, (and I forgot the last one). So true!!!
Jane: have plans today? I'm making "starbuck's cups" to hold gift cards. I always give everyone a Starbucks card as an extra gift. Then if I finish them the next thing is addressing envelops and signing cards. Maybe then I can start some LOs.

    Hi Linda & Cheryl...

  • Terry0773
PS....I'm curious....Has anyone tried Ka'chava or Ryze or VI? I'm getting tons of ads to them and while they sound good for health, etc I'm be cautious this time.
  • Rockmom
Terry, was it a brisket sandwich and a pound of fudge? They didn't mention the beaver nuggets, a super, super, extremely sweet puffed corn product. So sweet! Too sweet. Lol
  • Terry0773
I do now remember something about the fudge, which BTW is outstanding! The only part of the "brisket" is cutting it like a surgeon. I do so love Buc-ees!!!!!
  • Scrappin 2
    Friday

Anna glad you got out with some friends. So important.

Terry I too wouldn't like spending $130 not knowing what i was getting.
I have not heard of the the stuff you asked about.

I'm sure glad I have gotten to experience Bucees. It's quite the place. Nice bathrooms.

I didn't feel like eating supper last night. So weird for me. This afternoon my stomach hurt.i don't know what's going on. We have reservations to go out to eat tomorrow evening. It's our 56 th wedding anniversary. Sure hope i feel like going.

  • Rockmom
Hope you feel better for your anniversary dinner. Happy anniversary.
  • Just G
hi All! Just got back from a cruise and have 150 photos to scrap! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
  • Cdjohnson
Friday evening! I have been paying bills and watching Netflix. I am really tired because I have gone in early and stayed late almost every day this week. Of course, I will have Izzy tomorrow. Time is different as Priscilla has to work 11a-7p. I will pick her up at 10:30 and drop her off at 7:30. I will give her a bath at my house to help Priscilla out.

Terry - I love the Brisket sandwich and fudge from Buc-ees! Ryze coffee is a mushroom coffee. My co-worker brought some to work. I did not care for it to earthy tasting for me.

Jane - Yes, Zoey and Zeke go to their dad's house from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.

Welcome Just G! My name is Cheryl. I live in Calvert City, Kentucky. I am a widow. I have 2 children and 7 grandchildren. Where did you go on your cruise? I look forward to seeing your scrapbook pages.

Cathe - Happy Anniversary! I hope you are able to enjoy your dinner.

    Hello to everyone else!
  • Just G
Hi Cheryl; I used to live in Louisville. I moved to Akron OH because My daughter goes to Kent State University.

I've tried Mushroom Coffee and it didn't do much for me. Tasted like the old general foods international coffee.

I haven't been able to check out a Buc-ees yet. Is it as magical as people say?

    Happy 56th anniversary Cathe
  • Rockmom
I'm not a coffee drinker so I've not tried them.

Buc-ees is huge and often very crowded. There are a ton of gas pumps which is nice and the restrooms are always stocked and clean. The restrooms are why I stop there.

Hiya Just G, Denise here. I live near Houston in a 4 generation home with my mom, hubby, daughter, Son I law and 2 grandkids. Welcome to the group. I'd love to see your layouts!
  • Scrapperb2
Saturday morning already. Time escapes me as I'm always working from behind. I've been going to the doctor's office for the osteoarthritis/ rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and fingers. I'm getting compression gloves that covers the wrist and fingers. He said it will improve fine motor skills and ease pain along with morning exercises.
Rene is doing better with the two pain meds he is taking. He complained about how they make him feel, but it takes the body time to get used to them. Both my granddaughters were texting me yesterday, a nice surprise. Kevin is talking about us flying into Cedar City for Allen's graduation in the spring. I told him a lot can happen between now and then. Allen has applied to different law schools and He has a perfect 4.0 average for four years.
Denise .. I didn't know the house was a four generation home. That is a lot of people living there but must be nice. I always wished my mom lived much longer to see all her grandchildren and just have her around.
Hello just "G"...my name is Linda and I live deep in the Mt Washington valley of no N.H. interesting place as we have some hot humid summers beautiful fall and can be harsh snowy winters. One Christmas Day it was -50 degrees, nothing moved!
Cathe...happy Anniversary, 56 years is quite an accomplishment, we are just behind you, 53.
Terry ...where do you plan on going on a cruise? I like them, it was 3-4 of them, so fun and relaxing. I had a dog many years ago, Tuffy, a scrappy looking girl but a very sweet dog. Since then the world of cats. I've always gotten rescued cats, although Rene mentioned yesterday he would like a small dog...ah I said absolutely no. My cats sleep most of the day play at night, don't eat much, just a litter box, and regular care with shots, claw clipping, brushing etc. they all were spayed and neutered.

Hello all have a good day

Morning! I'm a bit upset at hubby because he decided to run out 30 miles to Jim's place and check on the cows. But I've been waiting a year for him to hang my tapestry and the whole thing just irritates me. Glucose is high and that's a sure sign I'm going to be angry. His solution is to tell me I needed to go with him and get out of the house. Nough---

Anna: Hope you weekend is going well. Have the leaves started falling yet?
Cathe: Sorry you are having tummy issues. No fun! Happy Anniversary too....!
Cheryl: Those are long hours and you need some resting time! Any fun plans to do with Izzy this weekend?
Danielle: Does it bother you when Jim travels for work? I never minded it but my sister absolutely hated it.
Denise: Those restrooms are the cleanest I've ever seen! I think they are about to break ground here for the new HEB being built. That's another big plus for Texas! How goes the weeding of the christmas project?
Jane: How are ya? Have a football game today to watch? I watched the Broncos/Raiders game on Thursday night. It's great to see the Broncos doing well again.
Just G: Hi, I'm Terry, 73 y.o., married with 2 grown sons, 4 grandkids, and 3 step grandsons from Thailand. Youngest son (43yo) moved to norther TX last year and we followed him 2 mo later. Love it here. Came from SW WA state where its gorgeous but not friendly in other ways. I'm retired from contracting work and spend hours in my office playing with paper. We all here are a great group and encourage you to join us.
Linda: I'm sorry you are going thru arthritis pain. I bought a pair of compression gloves to help my "trigger" finger and I will swear they did. It's totally gone now and while I wore them my hand and that finger felt great. I hope they work for you too. Steve has always wanted a Maine Coon cat but I absolutely refuse because he wouldn't be the one doing the litter box and I'm not going there!

    back to Starbuck's holders!!!

  • Scrappin 2
Saturday- Gray, rainy and cold. We are headed out to eat in an hour or so. It will take 30 min at least to get to the restaurant.

Thanks for the Anniversary wishes. The tummy is ok. ..I think it's ok anyway.

Cheryl- nice you are flexible and can help Priscilla. You have been working a lot!! Maybe you don't want this job?

Welcome Just G, I take it you will tell us your name? I'm Cathe, 77, married, two children a boy and a girl. Well really a man and a woman. LOL Our son lives 15 min. away. He is married and has two children, a boy and a girl. His DD got married in Aug, so he now has a son in law. Our DD is in Tx and is married and has three children. I wouldn't say Bucees is magical. If you need a stuffed animal of a beaver it is the place to go. LOL (or gas or a bathroom)

Danielle hope you can get the silhouette to work. Try emailing them again. I did get a response from them the second time I emailed over something

Terry- Who is Jim? a new friend?

Linda- how the compression gloves helps a lot!! I heard they do. I should look into one for my thumbs.
    Your Allen is quite smart!

Hi Denise and Anna. Hope you are having a nice day.
  • Rockmom
Linda, my mom wears those compression gloves sometimes. She says they help.

    Cathe, have a great dinner!

Love HEB, we have one just across from our neighborhood...very handy!

Anyone use a glass desktop cutting, gluing mat? I'm thinking about asking for one for christmas. I'm tired of scrubbing trying to get the sticky glue and paint off my other cutting mat.

Terry, yes I got the cuts weeded, all the colorizing and texturing done. Everything is glued in place. The envelopes are addressed all I need to do is to write my personal messages on the inside and stamps which I have.

I do need to create another design for my family. I started off making 2 designs a year. I dont really know why! Crazy. I guess y'all are just special!

I have Thanksgiving menu planned and a grocery list made. The napkins are ironed - Tim did that for me today. Dishes are washed and in the China cabinet next to the table. Center pieces are ready. I just need to know my final count as to who is coming. We asked Mackenzie's family but I've not heard from them yet. Katie invited a new co-worker and husband as they have no family here. They are coming. So we could be 17 or 22.

Hi, here it is Saturday all ready. Not much going on. DS, dil, and Aria left for Nashville after school yesterday. They were staying overnight and today they will do Gaylord's Ice show. This year the theme is Charlie Brown. All the characters are made from ice, plus you have a slide of ice that you can go down. This will be the 4th year of doing this. They have other things you can do, decorate gingerbread cookies, etc.
Cathe Happy Anniversary! Enjoy your meal. Our anniversary this year will also for 56 years in June.
Cheryl glad you can help your daughter with taking Izzy at different times. You are busy at work. No doubt the day goes by fast.
Linda glad Rene is feeling a little better. Hope the gloves help your hands.
Danielle I am sure you will do fine when Jim is away for the boat show. Hope you can get an answer about your cutting machine.
Denise so you like Buc-ees! So far I have not been to one. When Bob was working at Johnson city he would stop at one on the way. He brought me a hot/cold drink tumbler.
Terry why in the world do men act like they do? Now Bob repeats the same stuff over and over, plus talks all day long, thru the tv shows. I know he can not help it, but still. No UT game this week, they are off. Only 3 games left. Did u get all your Starbuck's holders finished?
Anna how has your weekend been going? Are you expecting some really cold weather this coming week?
Hi G, I am Jane, live in the Farragut area of Knoxville, TN. Love it here, enjoy all 4 seasons, came from Florida. Married, 2 sons, 2 dil's and 1 adorable 7 year old granddaughter Aria.

Saturday evening. Izzy and I worked on some of her sight words, a worksheet and disguised a turkey as McDonald's fries. We went and played at the school playground for an hour. I took her to Arby's for supper and then stopped by Dairy Queen for ice cream. She took a bath here as she loves to do that and play with her barbie dolls. I am going to watch some tv and go to bed. I cleaned up my scrap room this morning before going to get Izzy. I plan to work on some cards tomorrow afternoon.
  • Terry0773
Morning! Back in my office---gluing is the next thing for the card holders. I also need to run to Starbucks to get the gift cards before I can finish these things. That's a whopping $140....oh well, it is only money.

Denise: I have a glass magnetic mat that is 22 x 16 and then slight borders. I love it! With water or alcohol or even windex the gluing spots come right off as does ink or anything. The only thing I would suggest is do not cut on it with an Xacto knife. It will put scratches into the glass that will be there forever. I got mine here: https://www.glassboardstudio.com/ They also have the magnets, rulers, and now ink holders. All of these are magnetic. If that link doesn't come thru the site is: glassboardstudio.com I do several designs based off 1 theme like with my grands and my 2 kids get another design but different, and on and on. Lordy, I'm up to making 53 cards every year. flushed emoji
    Cheryl: how fun for Izzy!
Danielle: I do hope you get that crazy machine to finally work!
Cathe: How was your dinner? I love Bucee's just because its so fun to look around and their food is great too.
Glenda: Have fun scrapping and don't forget to post in here so we can all see it! We love new stuff!

Steve's back home and I just had a 90 min phone call from BFF Pam who is on the way home!

Is Izzy your daughter or granddaghter?

    Sunday
Our Anniversary dinner was great. Rum had an 8 0z filet, I had a 6 oz filet, garlic mashed potatoes, lobster bisque soup, bread. The soup was really good, but I only ate half. I usually get salad and finish it when my dinner comes. I should have done that. Rum finished the soup for me. I didn't get a salad because I call it the weed salad...all that healthy lettuce. I wanted to ask if I order a salad if they could throw in some iceberg. LOL
It poured rain on the way to the restaurant. It was dark and wet and the drive made me nervous. Coming home the precipitation was a mix of rain and snow. Weirdly it was easier to see. Temp outside was 35* so the roads weren't slippery. This morning the ground was covered with snow. Rum said we got 1 1/2" unofficially.

Glenda- My husband's nickname is Rum. It is the first three letters of our last name. His buddies started calling him that in college.
Did you get to have a scrappy day today as planned? Did your DD graduate with a theater degree?
What part of the US do you reside in?

Terry- 53 homemade xmas cards!! You are the Queen of making Christmas cards!!

Cheryl- your weather must have been a whole lot nicer than ours if you took Izzy to the playground!

We were invited to our friend's house today to watch the Bear game. Another couple came from Chicago area. We all went to college together. Ricci always has such nice snack foods. She got pizza from Cosco since where she wanted to get it from didn't open until 4:00. It was nice and I got so show Ricci and Donna pictures of Nev's wedding. This morning it was so cold, Rum said he wished we could just stay home. It sure was cold coming home too until the car warmed up.

Denise- thanks for typing up the names for Glenda.

    Catch you all tomorrow.
  • Rockmom
    Cathe..
Snow, ick! We are still warm but it's falling to the 30s tonight. Then warming back up into the 80s this week. Glad you enjoyed the dinner.

    Terry..
How do you use the magnetic property?
My desk from high school had a tempered glass top. It is still upstairs at mom's. It's an antique with a slatted top and very narrow knee hole.

  • Just G
Cathe; that dinner sounds AMAZING! I am originally from Long Island NY but currently live in Akron OH. My DD graduates in May with a degree in Theatre and Environmental Science. I got all my photos/papers in page planners and am scrapping now! I'll upload later tonight!

Denise: It's scheduled to snow here for the first time tomorrow as well. I haven't had a chance to get up any of the leaves my 100 year old tree out back dropped because it's been rainy. Oh well. Maybe next year LOL

Cheryl; Is Izzy your daughter or grand daughter/?

  • Cdjohnson
Sunday Evening - I watched the new Lee Ann Morgan comedy show and now making cards until time for Sunday night football.

Glenda - Izzy is my 5-year-old granddaughter. I keep her on Saturdays while her mom and dad are at work. You will see me post about her a lot.

Denise - I have the Tim Holtz glass mat. I LOVE it!

Cathe - The weather was nice until late last night. It was around 70 degrees when I took Izzy to the playground. It is chilly here today with the high in the 50s and wind chill in the 30s. It is supposed to be wind chills of 20 in the morning. Ugh!! Your dinner sounded wonderful.

Terry - I can't wait to see your card holders.
  • Cdjohnson

I am sending these to some ladies from our church that are in the nursing home.
  • OnlyJane
    Good Sunday evening,
The temperatures are dropping, it may be 29 degrees when getting up tomorrow morning, plus the high only being 33. Time to get out the heavy sweaters and coats. We may have snow showers also. Today spent some time trying to fix Bob's iPhone, on the top of screen it says SOS, no sims. He has wifi, but no calls can be made and no calls come in, goes to voice mail. DS says it is a network problem, Verizon and do this and that. I am not techy that is for sure.
Cathe, glad you and Rum had yummy meals. Oh and I don't care for the lettuce you mentioned, just give me iceberg. I saw where you may be getting lots of snow along with cold temperatures. Stay safe!! Oh, I saw an ad for J Jill for their clothing. We have a store close by, never been in the store, need to check it out, bet they are expensive.
Denise, your old high school desk sounds so nice. People use to put glass on desk tops a lot, but not as much now a days. Stay warm as your temperatures fall too! Glad you got all your cutting finished. I found at least 3 designs for Christmas cards that I just may be able to do, they look simple, just what I need. Now to decide which one to go with.
Terry, 53 cards, holy cow, but your so good in doing them. Glad you got to talk with your bestie. When do you get to see her again? It sure does add up when purchasing gift cards doesn't it. Around our area, coffee shops are becoming the thing again. First it was Starbucks all over, now it has started again with places called Scooters, Dutch Brothers, the list goes on. Several of them are drive throughs only. For awhile we had several cupcake places, they all disappeared, now we have cookies like Crumbl, and a few more. Not sure what will be next.
Cheryl glad you and Izzy had a fun time together. Your going to also have some cold weather, stay warm. Now we will start getting higher heating bills, we have gas, but it still costs more each year. Have a good week at work.
Glenda bet your glad your daughter is almost finished with college. Does she have any jobs lined up yet? We have 2 boys who both went to the University of Tennessee, one graduated with an Industrial engineering degree and works for Siemen's Medical division here in Knoxville, the other one graduated with a degree in Forestry and works for the County's Sheriff office locally so both stayed in the area so it is nice to have them live close by.
Hi to Anna, Danielle, and Linda
    Good night everyone

  • Just G
Jane; No jobs lined up yet. I'm taking her to NY to meet with some friends that are in the tv industry and she's going to be looking at environmental jobs involving water supplies. Right now with her schedule it's only part time work at a vet's office.
  • OnlyJane
    Good afternoon, Monday
We just had some SNOW showers, wow and it is still cold at 27 degrees at the moment, 1:20pm. Have not gone anywhere today, have on my heavy sweats, socks, slippers.
Glenda nice that you know some people in NY that could help your daughter with her interests in theater/tv industry. Did you get some scrapping done on your cruises?
Anna thinking of you and Bucky as you get closer to his surgery date.

How is everyone's day been so far? This month already seems to be flying by and I need to get going on Christmas shopping, not waiting until the last minute. Need to make a few phone calls and I should be caught up with that.

Have a nice day and evening, stay warm!!!!
