What on earth is Sizzix (sp?) I dont know if I got that right. Anyway; My local craft store has all the stuff for it but on the shelf is empty boxes. YOU have to go get someone to help you. Its worse than buying Pseudophedrine HCL.

SOO anyway what on earth do they do and what are they for? and are they so wonderful that people steal them that much????

Sizzix is a die cutting machine. It is used to cut out different shapes as well as alphabets...

Sizzix can also be used for embossing. You can punch out paper, foam, rubber etc. with it. There are tons of dies to go with it.
I was wondering if other brands of dies are compatible with a Sizzix machine.

BTW...my dh bought me one today!! I was dropping some hints and he used a 50% off coupon and a Michael's grand opening in my town. He's trying to keep it a surprise for our 2 year anniversary that is coming up in 2 weeks (but of couse I knew what he was doing). What a sweetie!

Sizzix is awesome! I'm fairly new to scrapping (4 months), but I already have a Sizzix and love it. (I used a 40% coupon to get it then used online auctions to get 3 sets of alphabet dies over the last two months). I don't use the computer for scrapping (except for browsing here *grin*), and Sizzix allows me to make detailed titles and labels fast and easy. No tedious cutting out letters by hand. And the alphabets are so cute.

I did get a giggle when I read your post. I remember being completely new to scrapping and utterly puzzled by the whole Sizzix thing. It looked so expensive, and I figured I would never buy one. *grin* I paid $48 for it, and have already saved myself several hundred dollars worth of frustration.

If you do get a Sizzix, then think about getting a little Xyron 150. It's an inexpensive sticker maker and makes it easy to adhere the letters to the page.

Wow thanks for the input. I dont know why they lock them up but every box that said sizzix was empty. Im guessing its the dies that pepole swipe?? who knows people can steal anything if they really want it.

Ill be looking into getting a coupon so I can get one.
