Welcome to the New Layouts and Cards for the months of May and June . We would also love to see any other project, photo or imported images you'd like to share with the group.

The rules for this thread are simple: Post a newly uploaded layout, card or project, get comments and give comments on everyone's pages. No "drop and runs" please. If you get love be kind enough to give love back. Since there are several people here, try not to flood the post with too many LOs or cards. Maybe 5-7 in any post and no daily limit. Follow SB.com instructions for downloading and linking your projects.

Come by and join the fun! This thread has gained a fairly regular following. We enjoy seeing new people come by to share their work and join in the fun! You can join in at any time. Just remember that it is more fun if you give love and get love too!

While this is a laid-back community of artists and crafts people sharing their work and support, it's not a place to just drop off work and not visit the galleries of others in the thread. We encourage you to enjoy all the marvelous talent and leave comments! Should you encounter a problem with another poster in this thread, please PM them directly to ask your question or resolve your issue. The hostesses are not referees and can't step in the middle for you.

This is a collaborative effort. We are rotating the job of hosting the thread. Included in the opening post is the schedule of hostesses over the next couple months. Please volunteer as it is the easiest job you will ever have!

Well here we are in May! Hopes of continuous warm weather and May flowers!

Today the mail lady put a package addressed to me on the porch. I opened it and it was Routine Shampoo and Conditioner regular sized and two travel sizes. My immediate reaction was I did NOT order this. Hubby hovering...are you sure...blah, blah, blah. I do use their product but did not order. I e mailed them explaining. WELL......about ten minutes ago Casey texts "I sent you a Mother's Day gift. Keep an open mind" I called her and asked "Did you send Routine shampoo and conditioner?" She said yes!! I told the story and we laughed and laughed. So then I emailed Routine and told them to dismiss my first email and that it was a gift. She didn't know I used Routine. Thing is I still have a half a bottle of both Shampoo and Conditioner left. I didn't tell her that.
This is a different scent. It will probably last my whole life!

Glad I got two more votes for the silver outfit. I returned the Chico outfit today. ....and bought a t-shirt with turquoise in it to go with my new bermudas from Belk.

Terry- I LOVE the top you ordered. I could use a dressy top. One like that would be nice for the bridal shower for Nev. I tried on a blouse at Chico's I thought might look nice for the shower, but didn't like it. It was nothing like the style you showed us.

I have all my June cards made and in envelopes that are all made out. I don't have Oakley's, Van's or Casey's. I might purchase those.

    hello and good morning

Denise- no we have not plant anything yet because we usually Waite until after mother's day and if the weather nice. i have the strawberries for awhile back ago and they are in my garden box green house and we have some plants that i start from seeds. the olny thing that grow are the carrots. this week we are going to shovel all the dirt in the garden box .

well nothing much going on here. hope the lawn people come to turn on the water for the sprinklers. i been water the grass with the hose. Are next door neighbor her grass is bad and she got alot of dandles and they come on are grass when the wind blows. Been walking bella and working out.

hope everyone has a nice Thursday
  • OnlyJane
    Good evening, Thursday
Had some rain in the morning, windy all day, sun came out late afternoon
Goodness, am behind once again, not much going on here, just routine items. Yesterday went out, got the decal for this year's tag for the Yukon, next stop Home Sense where I found a pretty wreath for the front of house, along with flowers for the containers by the front door, final stop grocery store. Today got hair done, stopped at Hallmark to see all the pretty things our local store has, another stop at grocery for several items that I forgot from yesterday.
Cathe my favorite outfit is the silver one, good choice!!! That is funny about your package turned out to be from Casey for Mother's Day. Thanks for doing another 2 months of May/June for our thread.
Terry the blouse you picked out is beautiful for the wedding. Are you going to wear a skirt with it or pants? So sorry about failing your stress test. Hope it turns out to be nothing. Bob's cousin just had an incident heart related, two weeks prior she went to a cardiologist for a routine checkup. All was well. She is big on working out. She credits her apple watch for saving her life as she uses it when at the gym, her heart rate all of a sudden was over 200, dr. told her to come in right away, she did, he checked her and told her to check in the hospital where she stayed overnight and they had a hard time lowering her heart rate, they finally got it back to normal, have no idea what caused it, not A-fib, they put her on a blood thinner, her labs showed something strange in one of the blood tests and now has an appointment with a blood type doctor. I know the doctors won't admit it but I can't help be suspicious of those Covid shots.
That is nice that Danny can fly out and see Emma play her last games!
Denise having documentation for all your lesson plans is a good idea. Glad you got to spend time with your mineral friends. Nice that your Mom had a good day.
Anna we may have some t-storms, heavy rain over the weekend. DS is going to mow tomorrow if it does not rain. If it does hopefully it will be in the late afternoon. How is Bucky feeling?
Danielle when is your friend suppose to come for a visit?
    Hi to Judy, Linda, Cheryl

Have a good rest of your evening. Oh and ds is feeling much better and only coughs a little.

Thursday - Today is Dylan's birthday and Priscilla's is Monday. Since I am going to be gone for her birthday, I took them all to Olive Garden to eat.

    Hi Ladies:
Thanks Cathe for stepping in to help Cheryl with the thread.
Just got back from another trip to the DFW airport. Pretty easy, no traffic really but coming home ran into a bugger of a rain storm. So hard I couldn't see out the front window even with the wipers full tilt. Then saw a huge wreck southbound and I'm sure it was the rain that caused that one.
The electrician came yesterday and finished up except he didn't run the wire to the outlet box. The inspector just left too and we failed. Wasn't the wiring but he wants a 8" x 8" post on either end in the middle because the span is too long. Our contractor is not going to be happy!

    Anna: How are you doing?
Cathe: The blouse I bought is from Amazon for $30. It's mesh with a liner for the body and the sleeves are open with no lining. They had several styles etc. I had to go with something that would allow me to be cool as I do not tolerate heat. That is funny about the shampoo etc. Do you like that brand?
Cheryl: Nice that you took them to dinner. Enjoy your trip!
Danielle: We did the same thing with planting stuff in WA. Always wait until after Mother's Day.
Denise: I think your documenting the year in studies is a terrific idea! Do you use Excel for it? You never know when or who might want to check up on it.
Jane: I plan on wearing pants but not sure if I want white ones or the dark blue that I have already. I also have a pair of Alegria sandals that tie like Roman sandals do. The print is really cute and in blue & black. So I'll have very comfy shoes on too. I just wish I could lose weight before then. Glad your one son is feeling better and the other has plans to mow. I think we've come to a consensus now on tearing out the 7 little bushes and 2 trees in the front yard. Instead of rock or concrete, we are going to lay down pavers and seal it with that concrete powder. The area isn't big so we can accomplish that. Steve just wants to hire someone to pull out the plants. Sorry to hear about Bob's cousin. That really sounds scary! I shocked this dr when he asked if I had any knowledge of what an angioplasty is. I said yes because my grandma had one but they touched her heart wall and it killed her with a massive coronary. His eyes big and he leaned forward and said "I promise you things have changed and I will not do that"! I almost laughed.

Almost finished with the 2 grad cards so that's my goal today. Take care...

    Friday
I planned on staying home and scrapping, but that didn't happen. Carole called and said she put a necklace and earrings of hers in her car. She asked if she could stop after her hair cut. I said sure. When she got here we decided to go out and look for shoes for me for the wedding. So we did, Shoe Carnival, Kohl's, Marshall's, DSW. I now have two pair at home. Neither are real comfortable. I bought a glitzy purse for $24 at Shoe Carnival. The same purse at DSW was $34.49

Danielle - sounds like you have a busy Spring with all the planting you want to do.

Cheryl- nice of you to take Dylan and Priscilla out to dinner. Were all the kids with you or just Izzy? Enjoy your trip!

Terry- what is the name of the company on Amazon where you bought your blouse? I bought a blouse at Marshall's without trying it on. Not sure I like it now that I tried it on. But it was only $16.99 I will try it on with white pants to get a better idea if I like it or not.
Glad to hear the doc assured you that your Grandma's surgery won't happen to you. How long ago was it that your Grandma died?
I am scared to have hip surgery.
Yes, i like the Routine brand of shampoo and conditioner very much.

Jane- I think I shopped at a Home Sense in TX. Your purchases sound like fun. We have a screen door and the steel door on the front of the house. There isn't much room between the two doors. I did have a flowered wreath down the basement that I thought would work. So far Rum hasn't complained that it would put the screen out. But it's been so chilly the glass has been down over the screen.

Hello to all who didn't post yet.

Cathe: I emailed you the amazon link because it wouldn't take it here. The brand is SeSe Code. I just happened to have comfy shoes but I may be getting new pants. What I need is a slimmer body!!! I'm trying.... Anyway, glad you had fun with Carole!
    Linda: adorable.
  • Scrappin 2
Linda- congratulations to all! He is darling!

It was a busy day. I made lasagna, did wash. That took all day!

    Morning ladies!

Linda, congratulations on the new great grandson! He is so handsome and I love his name!

Cathe, love the grayish outfit! It looks so good on you too!

Terry, love the top that you picked out! Praying all goes well with your procedure and you don't need any surgery. I'm doing much better. Thanks. Hope Danny has a great visit with Emma.

Jane, we've had rain on and off all weekend. Been in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Today is quite chilly so far but the sun is shining. Hope your son is feeling much better. Bucky has been back to ER. Spent all day Friday in there with him. He came home from work early Thursday with a terrible headache and very dizzy. They don't seem to think it was vertigo this time so they are sending him to neurologist. Probably be weeks before he can get in.

Cheryl, looks like you are enjoying the beach! Have fun! I'd love to be at any beach about right now!

Danielle, sounds like you are gonna be busy planting your garden soon.

Denise, how are you and Tim? Is he doing better now? And your Mom?

Judy, hope you are doing well.

    Have a good day ladies!
  • Terry0773
Ah, Monday morning with loads of calls to make and then off to get Danny around 3PM. He had a great time but there was a bad thing happening with Emma's team and it affected their play so they lost all 4 games. But this other team is ranked very high too. Their coach, Paige, has her hubby as an asst coach. Now I don't know if the school pays him or if he's just jumped on a bandwagon where he doesn't belong. The issue was that after the first loss which was well fought and a 3 run in the last inning lost the game. He tells the girls in front of Paige " I knew you girls were really good at losing" and of course now the girls are upset and mad. They tried to have a meeting with Paige and she wouldn't do it. So after the last game every girl agreed that if he's there next year they won't play. Emma and Maggie are headed to the university's athletic director to discuss this and let them know too. This guy is a jerk and know it all and why Paige doesn't assert her authority over him on the field is beyond me. Sad for the team!

Anna: That's so sad Bucky had to go to the ER. I hope he's gets his apt sooner rather than later.
Cathe: Did you cook Sunday dinner for anyone? I assume you got my email.
Cheryl: Have a good time at the beach and think about all of us that want to be there too
Danielle: Get the garden all ready for planting?
Denise: How is Tim doing? Do the kiddos go to summer school or camps at all?
Jane: What did you do this weekend? I did do a little bit of online shopping.
Linda: When will you get to see that new baby?

Off to get things done. One thing we did find out is that our contractor cannot back bill us for the fixes so the inspector will ok the construction. I just want this patio to be done and it is ridiculous to me that this is all happening.

    BBL...
  • Rockmom
    Hey all.
Anna, goodness sorry Bucky felt so bad. Hope he is feeling better and it won't be an insane time to see the doc.

Tim hasn't had any more falls. He is taking the cane with him everywhere.

Mom is the same. Most days she is only up for 8 hours or less. Some days she eats. Some days she doesn't eat much. Some days she swallows her meds some days she spits them out. Some days she remembers things others she doesn't. Most days her hearing is bad.

Spent Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon cleaning, rearranging and updating Sadie's room and half the playroom. We brought her new wall art and took out the stuff from her nursery. We bought a fringed flower wall hanging, some wood wall art and a affirmation wall art. I wanted to put her barbie dream house in her bedroom from the playroom and make her room feel new and inviting so she'd play in there. She has taken a liking to reading books by herself so we moved a whole shelf of books into her room onto her bookshelf by her bed. We also set up her American girl/my generation dolls and all their stuff up. Took out a ton of outgrown toys and clothes and shoes. Took out the dress up cabinet and the kitchen. Hung the dress up clothes that still fit her in her regular closet. This added so much space to play. Then we moved her school desk and created a library where her school desk used to be. I'll have the boys for summer too so I'm requiring reading and spelling and math fact review all summer along with playing in the pool.

I still need to go through her art desk in the playroom, toss bits and pieces and all the dry paint and crusty paintbrushes. Then I need to tackle Cooper's desk area and school shelves and create a science experiment supply storage as he will be in sixth grade I'm I'm going to have him start doing many more of the experiments. Then it's on to his room and then my room and closet. I've already done my craft shelves and desk.

Then I need to tackle that messy garage but that will require some help as I'm not as strong as I used to be. I've also done the shed already.

Somewhere in all that I need to pull weeds too.

This coming weekend we put up the pool 7 ft x 14 ft and the shade curtains as my very pale grandkids sunburn so fast and do not tolerate sunscreen everyday. Sadie also has a Defense Combine Tae Kwon Do tournament on Saturday at 1 pm. Right in the middle of the day.

I've got three weeks to finish before Mandy comes to visit and the boys are finished with school.

As far as camps go the boys and Sadie will have some Tae Kwon Do day camps. Cooper and Emmett will have a 4 day sleep away church camp. Those are all I know of. Cooper will be doing eye therapy every Tuesday. His hip hop class is off for summer after the 26th. Tae Kwon Do continues all summer.

    Monday...had to stop and think
Rum golfed today. It was weird with him being gone. I was home alone with no noise.
I made a card and scrapbooked. That's all.

Denise- I should be following your lead and going thru stuff.
I bet Sadie's room looks nice and more grown up. It is so nice she likes to read by herself.
I know it gets too hot in TX to be out in the sun. Casey said the boys only swim at night.
Sorry to hear you mom's overall well being is slipping. Rum's mom was like that. She slept a lot, & didn't want to eat. Gosh tho her mind was sharp. That probably made it harder knowing that she was declining.
Glad Tim is using his cane.

Anna- oh upsetting to hear about Bucky's dizziness. Sure glad he didn't fall. Hope he can get an appointment soon.

Terry- I hope the university athletic director sided with the girls. Did her husband just decide to step in as a coach?? At the university level? The young women had an amazing season. He sure must not have had any training in coaching.
Yes I got your email, thank you. I haven't had time to go look on Amazon. But i bought two shirts at Talbott's yesterday. Either can be worn to the bridal shower depending on the weather.
Yes I had Sunday dinner. I made lasagna. Rob was here from Florida visiting Nev for the weekend. He is such a nice young man. Charity was gone, but Rose was back. Hard to keep track of everyone. LOL

Van had an interview today up at the lake. It was for a position at a new restaurant up there. I might know more tomorrow.
  • OnlyJane
    Good Monday evening,
Today it felt like another Fall day, no sunshine, light rain in the morning and only 59 for a high, and this is May?
Not much going on, just routine. Any plans for Mother's day? Have heard nothing yet from the kids if they are planning anything. They always wait until the last minute.
Cathe glad you had some quiet time. I do miss mine. Is Van looking for a summer job? I bet he would be good working at an eatery. Are you still looking for shoes to wear at Nev's wedding?
Denise goodness you are busy again but as usual you are organized. Sadie's room sounds really nice. It must be big with all it has in it. Aria's room is small and full. She has way too many toys, stuffies, etc. I need to do some of what your doing and purge things from every room. So sorry your Mom is slowing down and sleeps more. So hard to watch, big hugs to you. Glad Tim has his cane with him all the time now and has not fell.
Anna so sorry Bucky felt so dizzy, hope he is feeling better. Hope he can get an appointment quickly with another dr. recommendation. How are you doing?
Terry hope you got all your phone calls made. I need to make a few calls myself. That is sad that Emma's team did not win their games. Good for her going to the top of the University sports department with her concerns. Sounds like the coach's husband needs to back off with his comments. etc. Hope your patio gets finished quickly with the changes the inspector wanted. Need to do some online shopping myself. Only problem the goodies ordered would arrive and guess who would answer the door, not good if it was scrappy stuff (lol).

    Hi to everyone else.

    Have a good night!
  • Rockmom
Terry, that coach's husband made a bad, uncalled for comment. It ruins the whole dynamic for those young ladies!

    Happy Tuesday ladies!

Cathe, I love my quiet time at home. I do what I want when I want.

Terry, wow if that coach's husband is not an official coach, he certainly overstepped with that comment...imho. Good for Emma. I hope it produced some results.

Jane, our weather is in the low 60s and quite chilly. Not gonna warmer up much either. Had to cut the heat back on this a m.

Denise, you accomplished so much! Glad your mom is doing ok and Tim is using his cane.

The referring er doctor's office called yesterday. Getting in with a neurologist is near impossible; earliest they have found so far is late August. It took several months for me to get an appointment so who knows how long Bucky will have to wait. On top of that, I was supposed to have my first injection on Friday. They called yesterday and said my appointment was not scheduled properly. I am supposed to have a consult first then a separate appointment for the injection. So now this week I have a consult instead of the injection. Not sure when I will get the injection. The health care system is really in chaos.
  • Scrappin 2
Tuesday. Feels like a Thursday or Friday. I had errands after my noon hair cut and color. I usually don't run errands on a Tuesday, thus why it felt like a Thursday. Yet Carole wasn't with me.
I did stop at JA one more time. I got a box of Parkland cardstock for half price...so around $10. I got two sheets of paper that weren't on the regular racks. I got two that had a denim look at the top...about half the page. I didn't care for the flowers at the bottom, but I can cut that off. I always need denim. They were still .40

Jane- I think I have shoes for the wedding. I took back a pair I got from DWS as they really didn't stay on my foot. I have a pair to take back to Kohl's. Carole gave me hers that she wore at her DD's wedding. Because they have an adjustable strap, they work really well and the comfort is ok. I also got a different pair at Shoe Carnival. They are comfortable. The clerk helping people suggested them.
I have three packages coming. Hope one comes tomorrow when Rum is golfing. LOL He doesn't say anything anymore about what I buy.

Anna- I don't understand what happened to all our doctors. I do know big corporations have taken over the local practices. I personally know a doctor that quit. But truth be told I think something happened. Anyway so sorry about the delay for your injection. Is this for your hip or knee? (sorry I've forgotten)
Sorry Bucky can't get in sooner. Did you ask them to call if they got an earlier opening?
I have an 8:00am appointment with my gastro doc. It was the only thing available until August.

It was a gorgeous day. Hi of 75*. That's perfect for me. It's going to be nice all week. I will send it your way Jane and Anna when I'm done with it.
  • Rockmom
I 💯 agree that it is getting totally ridiculous trying to get into any Dr. God forbid someone gets something that can't wait for 3 months. That has been the length of time each new Dr I've been to has taken, too.

Cathe, you had a busy day out and about.

It's been raining here for 2 days. Lots of thunder too. It's rumbling as I write this.
  • Scrapperb2
OMG.....I got up early to take out the trash, and looked out the large kitchen window and OMG 😳 BEAR ATTACK..... I forgot to take the bird feeders down and boom....the bear got them. One he bit and smashed it the other survived. Teach me doesn't it. Now to take out the trash and take hubby to the hospital.
  • OnlyJane
    Good afternoon, Wednesday
Let's try this again, earlier had post almost completed and hit something and the post was gone!
Anyway, rain today, dreary, but we still need the rain, yesterday was beautiful, sunny and warm
Had to work on getting the information needed for the IRS who once again returned our tax 2024 forms. Funny thing is I questioned Bob about one entry that did not look right, and he argued with me, so I walked away. Yep, that is the line they did not understand his number. It is the line where you put your standard deduction that your allowed. Oh well, way it goes.
Linda, oh my on the bear breaking your bird feeders! Hope all goes well with Rene's surgery. Will he have to stay in the hospital overnight?
Denise, do not get me started on health care these days, so hard to get appointments, etc. How's your weather, still raining?
Anna, so sorry you were unable to get the injection you need. Glad you're enjoying your quiet time. I did enjoy mine, wish I still had it, oh well. Nice images again, keep them coming.
Cathe, how nice you can use a pair of Carole's dressy shoes for the wedding and sure is nice of her to offer them to you. I think Bob only has a problem with packages that have the word Scrapbooking on them due to the fact I have so much stuff already, paper, dies, stickers, glue, page protectors, stamps. My fault for not using them up instead of collecting everything.
Terry, how is your day going? I was trying to look for some beige or brown long pants for myself. They seem to be hard to find at least locally. Started looking online but get interrupted so much. Guess I will look tonight when things tend to quiet down. Around here on the college level our football team is having lots of problems with the portal and players leaving, etc., never did pay much attention but apparently this paying like the quarterbacks is causing all sorts of problems. To me, why is there a need to pay players at the college level, seems like you go to also learn. Guess I am official old school (lol).
Cheryl, hope you are having a wonderful vacation time!
    Judy, how are you?
Danielle, hope your week is going good for you.

Have a good, rest of your day everyone!
  • Terry0773
Hi there! We had a day full of lightning, thunder, and some much rain yesterday. Early on the lightning struck a tower and we lost the internet and just got it back on today. Then it struck a house and set that on fire. I was out doing errands but had to run home for a delivery and as I stepped out of the car, it hit really close as the sky lit up and the thunder was immediate and loud and long! I fell back into the car! Steve was 25mi east in the middle of a field training dogs. That didn't last long!
Our contractor just texted Steve and he's waiting to hear back from some lady he knows in the inspector's office but he wants Steve to call them. Uh...no! It's getting stupid and my patience is at the end of the line. Just put up the support beams and be done with it.

    • Anna: not only do we have to deal with the sicknesses and conditions of our loved ones but now we deal with long waits for doctors too. It's obscene! I'm sorry you have to go thru it with both you & Bucky. That consult apt is strictly for more money. I've had those and its nothing more that hi how are ya and see you soon for the shot. Dumb! Loved the gif!
    • Cathe: glad you found some shirts for the shower and shoes for the wedding. The white pants I've seen so far are either jeans or capris or pallazzo pants. None that I wanted! And I too was thrilled Steve was leaving the house and I could have some quiet like it was when he worked.
    • Cheryl: hope you are enjoying the beach!
    • Danielle: will you talk to your mom this weekend?
    • Denise: you sure are busy! I bet Sadie loves her re-do in her bedroom. Sounds like the kids will be super busy this summer which is better than sitting in front of a TV all day. I wanted to tell you about this new product. RHO nutrition which makes liquid vitamins of all types and they are highly acclaimed. I take Berberine and their version of CoQ10 and I love them. Anyway what the newest product is called Quercetin which is for allergies. Google up Rho and see if you are interested. Sorry about your mom too. That has to be hard to endure day to day and watch the downfall. Hugs....
    • Jane: Since we've been here, Steve has deemed it his job to get all mail and packages. Luckily he doesn't say anything and he better not considering how often he shops for useless items. We still have the new light bar he bought for the bathroom back in Nov sitting in the garage. One thing I've learned over the last 6 mos is not to get excited when he starts in about building wall shelves for items or he wants some wall decorated with stuff. It will never get done. And that's ok because I didn't want it anyway! I don't think our storms from yesterday are headed your way but MS is getting hammered! I can't imagine what is going to happen here for Mother's day. I really want that back door put up and since Danny's here that would be nice. But as for dinner? Don't look to me to cook! It's my day off....
    • Linda: good luck to Rene - hope things went well. Bear huh?

    time to trot....
  • Terry0773
Here are the 2 grad cards I just finished: TFL
  • Scrappin 2
I read everything earlier and then had to watch supper so it didn't burn.

Linda- I bet that bear surprised you! Naughty, naughty bear.

Jane- Too bad Bob didn't listen to you about the one line on the taxes.
I wore the shoes I bought yesterday for two hours. I think they are more comfortable than Carole's. I will put hers on again tomorrow. I haven't given them the two hour test. The ones I got at Shoe carnival were only $29. I probably won't wear them ever again. So Carole's would be free to wear for the day/night. But I'm going for comfort.

Terry-Each year I tell the group I'm not cooking on Mother's Day. ...and I don't. I take it Doug and Family will be here for dinner. They will probably do brunch with Charity's mom. However i need to check with them.

We will celebrate Van's birthday on Mother's Day. I had better buy a card or make one. I don't think they save things at their house so I might just make one that can be tossed. He will be most interested in his birthday money.

I scrapped today. It took all day to get the two pager done. I've worked on it for 2 whole days and then some. But of course today was the only day I worked all day on it.
  • Rockmom
Linda. Gosh a bear attacked the bird feeder? Hope all went well at hospital.

It was a blue sky day today. That was nice.

I worked on making lists of science and project materials to gather for the school year today. Cooper's list is long. I've not finished Sadie's yet.

  • Rockmom
Terry I'll look into those products. Right now i..adding magnesium to my list of daily vitamins. 250 am 250 an hour before bed. Sick of not sleeping.
  • Rockmom
    Hello, Good morning.
  • Scrapperb2
Thanks for the well wishes for Rene. This surgery went far better than the last one. Today the pain is starting and I went down to Walgreens for the prescription, it only cost .70. He was uncomfortable last night and I think he will sleep in the recliner, the pressure will be less than in bed.
Rain for the past week, so far this month is 4.63 inches, no drought in our state, for now. Starting Mother's day the sun will be out for the week, so I will be planting everything. I will have to get someone to mow the lawn, again, it is so plush and green, grows way to quick.
I don't have much to say tonight, I'm so tired, need to shower and go to bed early as soon as I get Rene settled for the night.
Thanks for the cards Sara and Kim

    Wednesday

I didn't accomplish what I set out to do today. That was to take a wood cleaner and clean the hand scraped wood floor in the entry and dining room. One nice thing about the dining room is that most of it is cover with a rug.
I did clean out my sock drawer. I was looking for the tips that go on my hearing aids. I am sure I have a little bag of them, but I didn't come across any.
I got my summer shoes out of the top shelf in the office. I need to put away my winter shoes. They go back in their boxes on the top shelf of my closet organizer.

Linda- hope Renee isn't in too much pain. Good thing recliners were invented. Rum slept in his after his knee surgery - and ankle surgery.

    Hello to all.
  • Rockmom
Linda. Glad it was better..recliners are great to sleep in after surgery.

Cathe, I didn't get my list done either. Oh well.
  • Terry0773
Yesterday, I finished up 2 cards, dusted, did about 8 loads of laundry, and went with Steve to throw ducks for Willow. He brought home the ducks from training and yes they were deceased and yes that is how you train a retriever to play in the games we do. I've never killed one in 30 yrs but I've handled over 100s of them. They are not wild ducks but raised by professions just for this.
I vacuumed and mopped all the floors this morning while he's back out training with his new found friends. And that's ok by me! I'm also home to because a city inspector is coming here again to look at the framing work. The first one said no passing because we needed 2 more post beams. Now this one gets to come out and for what I have no idea. But I was told repeatedly that I wasn't to talk to him and then call hubby with his report of pass or no pass. Something fishy is going on because the contractor kept saying in his text to Steve it was fixed in the office. Did he pay off a clerk to falsify the report? Is this new inspector being bribed? I certainly am not going to get yelled at but I would love to know why this guy is coming out after a report is already filed.

That's it for me. I totally agree that recliners are the bomb for sleeping in after knee or foot surgery. I spent 6 weeks doing that on just the foot surgery. You sure are organized Cathe with putting away winter shoes into boxes! I need to contact a landscape co to come pull out those trees. There goes more $$$$
  • Terry0773
Here's the cards I finished plus the one I did in Mid-March. TFL

  • Scrappin 2
    Friday

Terry- It sure feels like you are getting the run around with inspectors. ...and not supposed to talk to him? ....yet I sort of remember being told not to talk to some inspector. I dunno.
Your cards are gorgeous!!! I would love to spend the day with you. You could show me how to do the poly glaze. Does that corn flower stamp have a coordinating die? I couldn't seem to find it. I love, love, love the water coloring. You're a pro.

It was a great day to be alive. Perfect weather-blue skies, Perfect temperature (for me).
I had four packages arrive. One was the necklace I ordered for Charity for Mother's day. I usually get her a little something, but this is a rather big something-as in spent more. But I sent Casey money and I try really hard to keep things even. I got a Talbott's long sleeved top in pkg #2. It is navy blue with white flowers, a bold pattern. Bag#3 JJill jeans, but they don't fit as nicely as the pair I love so they are going back. I will have to go in towards Chicago to return. Lastly I got a pair of silver shoes that I ordered for the wedding. But even tho they are Cloud Steppers I think the pair I got at Shoe Carnival is more comfortable.
Rum and I went to the meat market together. We got steaks and baking potatoes for Sunday. I also got a pizza, fish, and a cherry pie. -all frozen. Will have the pie on Sunday.

I need to make Van a Birthday card or buy one!!!! He was born on Mother's Day. So we always celebrate his birthday jointly with Mother's Day.
  • Rockmom
I took the day off. I watched a Netflix movie it was so so. ...and then I watched Matilda and Migration with Sadie.

Terry's, very strange about the inspection.
  • Terry0773
Good Morning! So far today, I'm thinking of buying a new desk chair as I feel I need a booster chair with my current one. I did try a chair pillow and all that happened is I kept sliding off it. I'll tell Steve the chair will be my birthday present. Speaking of him, he's out at the grocery store to buy me a last minute Mom's Day card. Happens every year for all the holidays.

Cathe: thank you! I think it would be so much fun to get together and make cards or LOs. I try new techniques & products to challenge myself because that was something my mom taught me long ago. She really did do wonderful crafty type stuff but what totally amazed me was one day she started watching Bob Ross and decided she had to try to oil paint. OMG the paintings she did and then she took that even farther and started painting on old milk cans. Dad found them and cleaned them up for her. Each one of the 4 of us got a can with something we loved on it. Mine was a landscape of Mt St Helen's and the mountains around it. My sister Pam had little girls skating in christmas coats. She just bowled me over with this love. And she did famous paintings in needlepoint. I mean the list goes on and on. Anyway it would be fun to try this stuff together. I just looked it up and the stamp & die set for the Colossal Coneflower is on Gina K Designs website. I can send you the stamped and die cut images if you want.

Denise: It is very strange about that inspector coming but then again he never showed up. so I don't know if he realized he would be doing a 2nd inspection of the framing without any work being done or if something else went wrong. It's back in Steve's court because he is dealing with the contractor not me and this is his project.

I wish everyone of you special ladies a wonderful Mother's Day filled with family and love. You are all very special to me!!!

    Good afternoon, Saturday.
    Sun trying to stay out.
We had an earthquake at 9am this morning, 4.1, felt the house shake, no damage.
Woke up to a big surprise, Baxter had a massive poop attack during the night, ugh, we just got back from the vet, no food for today, he got 2 shots, meds, special canned dog food, plus $194 bill, yikes.
Terry your cards are gorgeous. Glad Steve has found some friends to keep him busy.
Denise glad you took the day off. You deserve it.
Cathe goodness I need some of your energy, you have been busy. Shoes can be so hard to decide on.
Hi to everyone not mentioned this time.
Have a wonderful Mother's day tomorrow!!
  • Scrappin 2
Happy Mother's Day to those of us who are mothers.
Enjoy your day, even if you have to do something for yourself. (or buy something)

Jane- an earthquake? That's scary. I didn't know Tenn. was on a fault line. We are believe it or not. Glad you didn't have damage.
Poor Baxter---and your poor bank account!!!
Anyone ever call about Mother's Day get together?

Terry- At least Steve takes the time to get you a card. I got cards before we were married, but I don't think Rum has ever gotten me a card since. Oh well I bought myself several things lately and I'm happy. I got myself a glue press as one of my Mother's Day gifts.
Sure if you want to send me some of those Gina K coneflowers , that would be great. But you are so busy right now, so no hurry. I did find I have a coneflower in one of my SU stamps. But you know how that is, you want THE one you saw.-not the one you own. LOL I almost bought a set on SU called called mixed floral....something or other, but I held off.
Glad this is Steve's project and you don't have to handle it.

So hello to all and enjoy your Sunday. Hope your weather is great.

  • Rockmom
Jane, Wow, earthquake and Doggie issues. Never fun. Sorry about the vet bill too.

Our garden is overrun by weeds. Spent a lot of time and still didn't get it all weeded. Ugh.

I put my heel too close to rhe edge of the stair carrying some boxes downstairs and fell forward as my heel.slipped off the step. My ankle burns and my back is achy but I'm not hurt otherwise. Who said getting old stinks? Yeh.

I'm tired so I'm heading off to bed. Night y'all.

This morning early my oldest called me and as we were talking I noticed this humongous bird on a branch 2 houses over. Got out the binoculars and it was some species of an owl. Really regal looking. I sure do miss that kid! Danny is coming over around 2 to help Steve install the storm door in the back which pleases me to no end. I can open the door now for air without the flies! Why they stopped putting screens doors on is beyond me.
The other thing that happened yesterday was I realized I cannot find my Zig brush markers. I had almost a full set of them too so I wonder if I tossed them somehow or what!

Jane: holy cow an earthquake in TN? Glad nothing was damaged! Hope you have a fun time planned for today.
Anna: Give your mom a hug from me today. I sure do miss mine but I have her photo in my office and her watch on my desk!
Cathe: I'll get those into the mail tomorrow when I'm out and about. No problem as I'm playing around today anyway. Should we bonk our hubbies on the head for being inconsiderate? I sent Steve a photo of 5 different windchimes I would like and he had to chose 1 to buy. OMG, he threw such a fit going on and on about whatever. As of now, he hasn't even said he bought one or not. grrr....
Denise: You give your precious mom a hug from me too. And take the day off!!! Have a happy one!
Cheryl: I assume you are on the way home today. Loved your FB photos!
    Danielle: Happy doggie mommy Day!
Judy & Linda: hope you both have a wonderful Mother's day.

Hope everyone had a nice day today. Was going to go to ds's house, but he has been sick all week, one dr. said Covid, one said flu. Suzanne was concerned that it may have been Covid so she and Aria got tested, they are fine. So Mother's day will be rescheduled. Other son had to work, but had the Cheesecake Factory deliver slices of cheesecake, yummy. This sure has been a crazy weekend, hopefully the week will be more organized, it does appear we may have rain every day.
Will catch up tomorrow. Enjoy your evening

Happy mothers day my friends and to our mothers before us and to our friends who want to mother's. Y'all are the best.

CI and DO this latest card. I have a dr apt in an hour---BBL. and TFL ( how did we get to the point of talking in abbreviations?)
  • OnlyJane
    Good afternoon, Monday
Raining so far, all day with a heavy downpour during a thunderstorm.
Nothing going on, just been busy with bill paying today, insurance on cars due soon, etc., boring job. Baxter seems better today but still on the sleepy side. Suzanne and Aria will be stopping by late this afternoon with something for me for Mother's Day. Need to check with son to see how he is feeling today.
Terry that is such a gorgeous card, wow on the butterfly and the colors of the background. Did you get your storm door put up?
Denise how is your ankle after your fall? Did you have a quiet Mother's Day?
Cathe how did your Mother's Day go? By any chance have you heard anything on how Judy is doing? It has been some time since she posted.
Danielle did you get to talk with your mother yesterday?
Anna how are things going for you?
Cheryl how was your trip? I would imagine your super busy after being away from work for a week.
Linda how is Rene doing, home now?

Well, think I am caught up for now so, everyone enjoy the rest of your day and evening.

  • Southernlady2

Jane we had Mackenzie's family over and grilled burgers and had air fries fries, and brownies. Easy day. Ankle is fine.

Cooper and I have been cleaning his room. We have to do under the bed and his bookcase tomorrow then it will be clean.
  • Scrappin 2
Jane- Sorry to hear your son was sick. Nice your DIL and Aria were stopping over. That doesn't happen much does it?
Judy is doing ok. I think she has several groups that she "talks" to. She's probably forgotten how long it has been that she's come in here.
You seem to have a lot of storms.

Danielle- It is nice your parents are planning on visiting you.

Terry- your butterfly card is so pretty.
Hope your doctor's appointment went well.

Denise- glad your ankle is ok now. Nice to hear you are accomplishing something. I sure didn't today.

I had a podiatrist appointment. You know how a nail looks when it tears? The nail on my big toe looked like that. It didn't hurt. That was the toe he took off the ingrown toenail. Well he trimmed it. Talked about neuropathy and my skin peeling on the big toe.....so exciting.

It is pretty hot outside. We kept the house shut up an that kept it cool. The cat from next door is finally outside. She jumped into the car as I was trying to get a few grocery bags into the house. silly cat.

Monday, May 12th 69° at 3:30 in semi-cloudy San Diego

Sorry I've been AWOL for so long. I have been so tired ever since I was in the hospital at the beginning of February. I sleep well, then wake up around 4 a.m. and can't go back to sleep, until time to get up. I usually try to sleep and have the staff get other people up and moving, but I sleep for maybe 15 minutes, then finally get up. Once at the desk I can't keep my eyes open. I wake up pretty good in mid-afternoon. It's just hard to get anything done.

I had a ceiling leak. I guess several rooms had even worse leaks. Finally, the director, Michelle, decided to pay the $60,000 to get a whole new roof. To fix the leak, my craft table was moved to the other side of the room. Now that the roof is done and the stain and mess from the leak has been fixed and painted, my table has been moved back, but everything was taken off, then put back on willy-nilly. I look at it and don't have a clue where to begin to get anything done. I keep buying crafty items, and they just join the pile. Cathe, I bought one of those glue stands last Fall, but it's still in its box. I wanted it to help the wear and tear on my hand.

Just got off the phone with a very long-time BFF who lives in the Denver area. We have so many memories.

I started on Ozempic on March 11th. I've lost at least 24 pounds and have gone from diabetic range down to almost the normal range, so that's good.

I've done lots of reading. Last month I read 15 books. It's one way to stay awake during the day. But now while I'm half-way awake, I'm going to do some scanning/saving/shredding paperwork. There always seems to be paperwork.

I'll try to do better on keeping in touch. Have a good day, ladies~Judy
