WOW Joyce, this is SO beautiful! Thought i'd pop on over to your site and of course this one was the first one that caught my eye, being that I LOVE snow and all.... Although we got over 400 in. last Winter, it's SO beautiful but I feel bad for the people that have to get out in it every day! I live in Michigan's Upper Penninsula in a little town on Lake Superior called Ontonagon. My husband is an over the road Truck Driver and when we lived down state I use to go with him and I remember going to upstate New York and it was beautiful, I am a country girl at heart, I could never live in a big City. I was raised down state in a little town called Flushing, MI. Anyway this is where my parents were from and my mom moved up here when she retired and I followed her :) I just love your layout, it is SO BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you also for the warm welcome! This is all new to me. I am trying to learn how to make greeting cards. Youtube videos have taught me so much, so now I have ALL the cardstock, stamps, inks, punches and just got a new Spellbinders Grand Calibur so I can cut dies and a Slice Elite for words etc. Been having fun with them, almost got the newest Cricut but thought it would be too complicated to start out with, I will get one in the future though! Well you have a wonderful evening, didn't mean to write a book, I type fast, learned that on all my jobs so I get carried away..... :)
WOW!!!! WOW!!!! This is totally awesome... Love the two beautiful images and all those pretty trees.... Snowflakes are always one of my favorites!!!! Great job!!!
What a wonderful memory for your Mom...and for you to be able to share in this beautiful Scrap-Page..Love the look of all those snowflakes and those gorgeous sleigh images...VERY whimsical!! :)
Oh Joyce, I love this! Those little pictures are so sweet! I have that same tutorial and have been wanting to give it a try. I was actually going to make some for the layout I'm working on now but changed my mind. I didn't have enough room to do everything I wanted on it, but there will be others! Love your trees and snowflakes too!
I found these two winter sleigh scenes that reminded me of my own sledding fun and a sleigh ride mom recently remembered. When I was very young my mother, my two brothers and I lived in an upstairs one bedroom apartment. There was a small slope behind the house. Our grampa gave us a little sled and my brothers and I loved to slide down that little hill. Mom is almost 91 and very recently told me about her experience riding in a "one horse open sleigh". She and my Aunt Ruthie lived in the country, it was about 1930. In those years upstate had frigid winters. They were walking to school when their teacher came along. She stopped and gave them a ride the rest of the way. Mom says she and Ruthie were very cold, and remembers warming up under a heavy blanket in the sleigh. I printed and cut the plain black and white scenes, matted them, used my colored pencils and experimented for the first time with home made texture paste (thank you Gabrielle for your tutorial!) to use for a "snowy look". I did the trees on my cricut and used stickles to give everything a sparkly, snowy look.
