I'm not sure if I already commented on this one but, WOW, it is stunning! The red, white & blue colors are awesome and the journalling is so touching! Very, VERY sorry for your loss! He is and always will be a hero!!!!!!!!!!
Heartwrenching! Beautiful lo...so sorry for your loss! I don't think there's an American alive who isn't proud of our soldiers, whether they believe in the war or not.
Sweetie, this is absolutely amazing...not only the LO but the sentiment behind it. Amazing journaling, dear! Um yeah, gotta go blow my nose now and wipe away the tears! I'm proud of her, too!
Wow. very touching. amazing tribute to both heros. Just wanted to say thanks for sharing and reminding us all that several have paid the ultimate scarafice.
aww thank you colie! I wouldnt go as far to call me a hero but I LOVE this LO...I like it the most because people dont really realize the effect that this has on the familys that are left behind...they see the man or woman on the news and think for the moment its up there i feel for the family but then thats the last time they think about it!(not everyone but some) and then you see the protesters out there sayin thank god for ied and all that makes me sick they need to realize the only reason why they have the right to say that is because of men who fought and died for there freedom of speach! but thats a story for a diffrent dat lol.... neways love it! nice job...i thank you more then word could ever describe! you are helpin me with my most important goal....making sure that he is never forgotten!
as eddy would say ITS..... SO SEXY
Wow, this is beautiful. Your sister and her husband must have had a very special bond to last that long. My heart goes out to your whole family for their loss.
What a wonderful woman your sister is, and it's so sweet for you to honor her and her late husband with this. The layout is very touching...you somehow found the right words to say. Thanks for sharing.
WOW! This is so awesome! It brings a tear to my eyes thinking about all those soldiers who want to be with family. You should be proud! Im proud of all of them too!
This is a layout of my sister and my brother in law that was KIA in OCT 04. I did this for the April Journaling Challenge and the Quote Challenge.
The journaling reads...
October 4, 2006 the world changed. My brother-in-law, Edward M. Garvin was killed in action in Anbar Provice, Iraq. At the age of 19. At 20 years old my sister Melissa lost her best friend, her soul mate, her husband. My sister & brother-in-law were life long friends, meeting in the 2nd grade and attached at the hip. My sister has such strength that amazes me and makes me so very (PROUD)! My brother-in-law made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, for our children, for our freedom. The families of these fallen Hero's know all too well that FREEDOM ISN'T FREE!
Most would think my sister sits home crying and that is so far from the truth! Since my brother-in-laws passing my sister has raised over 18,000 in which she auctioned off her wedding dress to raise money for the BOY SCOUTS, an organization Eddy was very involved in to send underprivileged boys to boy scout camp for the summer. We have marched in parades and Melissa has recently joined the Soldiers Angels to help families of fallen soldiers. I am so PROUD of her!
Quote under the circle reads
"And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm Free. and I won't forget the men who died and gave that right to me" Lee Greenwood. (the d is hidden behind the sticker because of the transparency. It was hard to journal because The circle and the quote were on the bazzill and I had to match up where the transparency had words or the stickers I put on it.
I used both of the twists for the Proud challenge. I used a transparency paper and I also used a hidden tag. Behind the tag with the star on it reads - Parris Island, SC Pictured my sister and brother-in-law at his Marine Corp boot camp graduation.
Creative maginations Strength transparency
My sister belongs to the SB.com family, swing by her place and show her some love! Melissaannegarvin
