Hi There! Heres another great upcycled paper insert made from a window envelope and book page. This insert wraps around the side of a page and holds 5 handmade tags. Heres how I made it.
Fold an envelope with a large window in half. Line the inside of the window with pattern paper leaving the top edge open, so you can pour beads and sequence into the shaker window section. After adding the shaker elements close the top section of the liner. Note the liner is attached to the back of the window section, so the pocket formed by the envelope can have a tag inserted.
I used washi tape to cover the envelope around the window, but you can use book page or scrapbook paper. Apply book page to the rest of the envelopes exterior.
To make the pockets on the right fold a piece of book page on the diagonal, then glue in place on two sides. I decided to repeat the process and add a second diagonal pocket, then finished it off with a strip of paper and a sticker.
I turned the flipside of the envelope into journal space by adding some lined paper.
Finally, I made tags for each of the four pockets the two formed by the envelope and the two diagonal book page pockets. The fifth tag is a piece of cardstock cut to size, then embossed with an embossing folder.
A decorated paperclip holds the shaker envelope pocket in place along with the large embossed tag. Its a fun addition to my Little Mermaid junk journal or any mini album.
I have lots more removable inserts that I made for this journal, so remember to stop back to see the next one.
