CHRISTY!! This is just amazing for soooo many reasons... very different and I know that this was hard to do. Maybe you meant this or maybe not but it actually has the effect of a stained glass window in a church (did you guys get married in a church, lol?)... I won't lie, I'm usually not a fan of cropping pictures like this, but this has a dramatic impact and is very well done!! Props to you girlfriend!!
SHCG: I am in love with this idea. Such a creative way to use some of those extra photos. I never would have thought to do a mozaic. I have no suggestions here at all. Perfection!
SHCG - Wow Christy, this is absolutely DIVINE! I love the mosaic look you created here, it was well worth that time, especially for such an important subject matter. The colors are awesome for this, & you created the photo/paper tiles perfectly. I also love the varying qualities of the photos & that you used disposable camera shots for this - hey that is real life...I know why people recommend "just use the best pics" in sb'ing, but sometimes real life is captured in the fuzzy &/or dim pics & you show that here! I feel like I'm getting a special peek at your wedding (speaking of "special peek" - woohoo w/ the garter shot!). I do like the idea of matting the main photo, but I already adore this LO as is. Fabulous job, Christy!!
SHCG: WOW, what a great LO! Very cool idea to do the mossaic, it was worth all the time you put into it :) I agree with the other girls, I would have matted the photo.
SHCG: I just LUV this mossaic layout. It has a real stain glass feel (with a few hidden shapes thrown in). Your choice of pattern paper is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing...but "who is this couple?" Maybe just add your names (and the year) to the black mat in thin white pen.
SHCG: I think you did great job using all the photos! Love the mosaic and the photos that you cut like a heart! i think everything flows very well! Only one thing-mat the main photo!
i'm new to scrapin, but i love it! great idea to use small parts of the table camera pics, and i love that you put them all the way out to the edge of the paper - different and creative!
SHCG: I think this was an excellent idea as it captures your reception in one page. A story of your day is definately being told. The only thing I could think to add would be like others have said and to put a mat around your center picture. I think another black mat would be perfect. Again, wonderful idea!!
SHCG: I LOVE the mosaic look of these pictures! Awesome look, and a great way to use all of these photos. I was thinking there needs to be something else, looked down and I like brenda's idea of scooting it over a little, and putting a wedding/love quote next to the picture.
SHCG: What a great idea to use the blurry and dark photos in a mosaic on your lo! I've always wanted to try this technique. I like seeing that you're scrapping your wedding photos. I, too, think that your main photo needs a mat as Tiff suggested. In addition, I'd suggest the photo be set off-center leaving room for some kind of wedding phrase to appear in a column on one side of the photo, especially if the page ends up not containing any journaling.
SHCG: Christy, this is a fabulous way to use #1 a bunch of photos, #2 a bunch of photos with some little problems. You would never know it to look at them. It looks great. I can see why it was a bit of a pain, but the end result was certainly worth it. I can't help but comment on a couple of the pics. The one of you guys dancing that is blurry: I love that. For some reason, pictures that actually depict the motion always appeal to me. Secondly, the *ahem* garter picter *cough-cough*... absolutely priceless! I think that I'd like the middle picture matted either on black or the beautiful blue color of his vest. I know that this is going in a book, but I am so craving some journaling. Frankly, because I am nosey and I want to hear some juicy deets of the wedding. There! I have admitted it! Very cool layout, Christy!
OMG....I like the way you cut up all the pictures like that. I am gonna add this to my favorites.....hopefully I will one day be abe to make a cool cut up page. Great job!!
I do not have a title on this LO due to the fact that it is going in my wedding album. I had put disposable cameras on each table for our guests to take photos and a lot of the photos seemed to be shot from far away or the lighting was too dark, so instead of tossing the photos in the trash, I decided to take the small usable parts of the photos and make a mosaic.
The scan & sew on this is not good, it is linear in real life.
