I made this for my surrogate mom who lost her father 2 days ago. I had just been looking at Scrapperlicious blog on how to do masking for Valentine Day cards and thought it was a good idea.

I wanted it to be soft and a bit cloudy and blue which described the mood but added the yellow and teal as 'hope' to see the blue sky and sun amidst the sadness.

I used a punchout photo frame as the mask and the middle of the punchout for some of the solid square masking. I used Colorbox and Tim Holz Distressing inks as well as I Kan Dee chalks for the inside of the masked areas. I did some highlighting with a white paint pen to outline the masked shapes. I stamped the little flowers in the corners and traced them with a zig pen. Then added the ribbon, some PP on top, the flowers and then the rub ons.

The inside is also masked in the shape of a scroll (another Scrapperlicious lift) in the darker blue and I wrote my message inside the scroll (but forgot to take a pic before sending) TFL
