I just LOVE the Tim Holtz-items and these distress ink pads are awesome! They come in so many colors (I haven't had time or money to collect them all, but I buy one or two every once in a while) and are more versatile than I expected.
You can use them to ink the edges of paper for an older look, or you can use it with the blending tool to spread over a paper (I just ordered the blending tool and look forward to getting it, so far I've only seen it on Youtube. lol) and then spray some water over it and it will spread across your paper. There's just so much you can do with these!

You gotta own one of these black ink pads. Maybe have a few spares. But make sure that you order the matching Black Soot Re-inker bottle to juice it up when it starts to dry out. Tim Holtz & Ranger are the greatest to have whatever color ink pad and a matching Re-inker bottle. Just try this if you haven't. You won't be disappointed. If you don't like it, pass it on to a friend!
They're not good for stamping letters and stuff but these give a whole new look to photos and papers. I have almost the whole set of distress ink but keep going back to this one. You can layer it to make it really dark or keep it down to one application on photos for an aged look. It dries faster than most other stamping inks too

This inks are the best! They come in a lot of colors and they're perfect for inking paper. One of the things I love the best too is that if you use this ink on a rubber/clear stamp you get this really great aged look. i just LOVE these!!!

I love this Distress Ink from Ranger/Tim Holtz! I needed ink for a stamping project & this ink was perfect for the job. It stays wet just a little longer, which allowed me to dab Perfect Pearls on top of the stamped image to give it some shine. I will definitely be using this as my go-to ink from now on!
Black soot was my first distress ink purchase and, true to its name, it is a great deep black color. You can get a more sooty look by applying it lightly or you can get a great matte black coverage by applying it thickly.

Distress inks are great..and I am trying to get as many colors as I can..the black is great for distressing paper, for adding shadow and dimension and inking the edges of letters or chipboard pieces for some pop!
I recently purchased this for my mini wedding album and I love the color just have to be careful how much I put on my blending tool. Alot comes off the pad with one rub. But love the color and result when done right!
