Journaling reads: In September, my parents came in town for N’s
baby blessing. On Saturday afternoon, DH watched
the twins and Michael while I took Joey & Lillian to
Timpanogas Cave. My mom watched J's baby
so he and G could come, and the group included
Grandpa, Jennifer's family, and my brother-in-law's
brother's family. The hike is quite a challenging one --
very steep uphill for about a mile and a half. But I
was very proud of Joey and Lillian. There was no
complaining or whining, though they did ask to
stop and rest fairly often. They were amazed at the
cave formations. Joey liked being Grandpa's partner
inside the cave and they were so careful not to touch
anything. At one point, they turn off all the lights so
we can see what pitch-black looks like. The lights
went out and the only thing we could see were
Lillian & Joey's shoes! Lillian's have lights that light
up when she walks, and Joey's have spidermen faces
with eyeballs that glow in the dark. After the hike
down, I let each kid pick a postcard from their
favorite part of the cave. Lillian chose a pretty
formation; Joey a picture of the "lake" inside the cave.
On Sunday, the baby blessing went well and we hosted
a luncheon in our backyard for both J & G’s
families.
