This is a photo of my beautiful grandmother Mary McKendry and her firstborn child Charles, taken in 1919. I was torn between photoshopping all these cracks or leaving it as it is. My daughters helped my decision. One of my daughters really liked the cracks and said she would like her layout done untouched, she thinks it added to the charm of the photo. Surprising, as she is the photoshop wiz in our family. She can easily place another photo over the top if she changes her mind. My other two daughters didn't really mind one way or the other. So I decided that I would do one layout at least with the cracks still visible and I will then do the other two layouts with the photo, photoshopped . The original, however, does show a lot more character than this copy.
I was very much inspired by the monochromatic colours of Nkaigle's ( Natalie) layout, Lo and Behold and thought I would try monochrome too. She has the most amazing heritage pages. Doing monochrome was not so easy for me and photographing was even harder .I blamed the weather for days but it really is the camera operator, when I finally got a good day the photo was even worse. Some details are not showing up very well. I liked the softness of the muslin on Natalie's layout as well, so gave that a try too. I used some older Kaisercraft pp's called After Five and some other bits and pieces that have been buried in my stash for too long. The pleated ribbon is Pink Paislee and the pearl strip is unknown. The large flowers are Prima and the smaller ones and the crystal stems are from Green Tara. Pearl swirls are Zva and the clock and birdcage trinkets are from Out There Trinkets.
Thanks so much for taking the time to have peek :)
Thanks for spreading positivity!
