Stunning lo - wonderful use of so many techniques. I especially love the little cluster of embellishments at the bottom and the way you used the doilies.
well I adore the photo to start with, but then I read about all the techniques - everything came together so wonderfully and you made it all look so simple and gorgeous Lisa. I probably would have given up but you are becoming quite the technique queen!
This is the coolest photo. Just read through the description of what all you did here, it made my head spin! Great work, Mom. All the hard work and details really paid off.
Oh my, this is truly a masterpiece! i love everything - from the bricks to the glitter, from the cluster on the bottom to the patterned paper, but the best part is the story and the way you tell it with this layout! sooooooo precious!
This photo is from one of the two dance classes that my dd assistant taught in 2010-2011. It was her first year assisting - she was in 8th grade, and the girls in this class were about 7-8 years old. The adult teacher took this photo with Cassie's cell phone, and I edited it to sepia. Cassie's feet are the (obviously) largest ones in the lower left with the split sole ballet shoes.
Journaling: The little girls in the classes Cassie is assistant teaching really look up to her. In the younger class, at stretching time, they always try to be near her to touch toes during butterflies, so Miss Kim had them all put their feet in a circle with Cassie's for a photo. This is for:
1) November Monthly Sketch Challenge - Week 1 with the bling/glitter twist. There are ivory & white pearls, clear & pink gems, glitter, and 3 mists.
2) November Sewing Challenge with the hand stitching twist. I hand stitched the rope on the birdcage and the flourish in the lower right. I also sewed on the heart charm in the left flower cluster.
3) November Girls, Girls, Girls - LO #1.
4) November One Pic Challenge.
This LO took a long time. I masked the bricks with molding paste and splattered Tattered Leather and Bubblegum Pink Glimmer Mists. Then I heated the paste with the heat gun to make the surface bubble and warp. The doilies are coated in Pearl Perfect Pearls. I cut the birdcage with the Serenade cart on my Cricut and added the little pearls to the bottom. I free hand cut the wavy outer photo mat. I did some hand stitching. The scallops are punched with an embossing punch, but that is hard to see in this pic. There is also a partial punched layer in the matting that I distressed. The wonderful teensy butterflies were in a RAK from sweet Krista (~{Puppet}~). I tied a little bow with some scrap twine and added it to the cluster in the lower right along with some scrap lace trim.
