Oh what a sweet but sad story. :( I can imagine you have kept this photo very long before scrapping it. I love that you included the tractor since it meant so much to him.
Oh what a precious page and what a special memory you've scrapped here. I think it's beautiful that you included the tractor in the l/o, scrapping is not just about making a page pretty but what make the page meaningful. Gorgeous page! xo xo
What a gorgeous page and such a sweet tribute to your cousin. I can absolutely feel the love that you had for him. Such a precious photo and I'm so glad you included the tractor. Every little detail is just perfect!!!
Such a heartfelt tribute! You put so much love into this and it shows! So many wonderful details! I love the tractor, the special button and how you created the little blanket! Amazing layout, beautifully done!
Elizabeth, this lo really touches me!!! Your story brought tears to my eyes, such a sweet tribute for this special little boy. P.S. I love the tractor!!!
What a wonderful lo to honour Oliver Don's memory! I think the John Deere tractor is sitting perfectly where it should be!! Leaving it out would be leaving out part of his very short life story! Your journaling is very precious and heartwarming! Fabulous creation!
Wonderful lo, even though I read every word to a sad story, but you have kept him so alive all these years. You are a special person to remember a wonderful time in your life. The tractor .....perfect
I am in awe of this Elizabeth; and such a heartwarming story.
It is a beautiful l/o; and hearing the story now gives a special meaning to each element here.

Such a special LO and story, Elizabeth - how blessed you were to have Oliver Don in your life, even if for a very short time - you are so lucky to have this wonderful photo which captures the wonderful relationship you had with him - your LO is a beautiful tribute to him and the very special relationship you had with him - love your design with the large banner tags, the way you did your journaling, and your mother's beautiful cloisonne button with the added bow ~
This is the most loving page ever, Elizabeth! How heartbreaking his death must have been for you at such a tender age. You obviously loved each other very much. Hugs!
You said you had a special photo to scrap & scrap you did! WOW, Elizabeth this is really gorgeous & I love the greens all those little embellies tucked here & there. Thanks for sharing the story of Oliver Don & he is probably driving a John Deere in heaven now!:)
what a soft and beautiful page, Elizabeth, and so heartbreaking that you lost yoru dear cousin so young-this is a sweet tribute to the closeness you shared. Love the key with the netting, and the bench with the little blanket you added.
Very cute! I can see the importance of this photo to you by the variety of pretty details you added to it. My hubby loves John Deeres too. Sorry for your loss.
this is so sweet & touching...I would not worry about the tractor...it is your page..It is his page too. If he loved tractors...you have to put it in. I don'think anyone would say anything about it.
Hello my friends! I'd like to share a layout I made & finally finished today after several days of indecision of just about everything! This picture has always been very special to me. It was taken when I was about 5-1/2 years old and the little boy is my double-cousin Oliver Don. I had just gotten off the school bus when he ran out to meet me and gave me a sweet hug. Whenever he visited, that's what he would do. I loved him dearly. He passed away just a few months after this picture was taken. He was 2-1/2 months shy of his third birthday. He loved butter and bread and John Deere tractors. He would get so excited whenever he saw one. I have missed him so much over the years. His father (Uncle Oliver) was my Dad's brother and his mother (Aunt Jerry) was my Mom's sister, thus the double-cousin. He was their only child and as close as a brother to me and my siblings. He had the sweetest disposition and I always felt that God gave us a little angel even though such a short while.
This is one of the few layouts that I've done a little journaling on. I know the image of the John Deere tractor doesn't exactly fit in with the design but it was such an important detail of his short life, that I couldn't leave it out. Did a lot of inking, some stamping, distressing and odds and ends. The angel image, frame and oval image were all printables I got from Pinterest. The beautiful butterflies and clay corner pieces are from Angelica Franssen's littlescrapshop.etsy.com, the stamped verse in the oval is Fiskars All Around Quotes, the beautiful cloissonne button was from my Mom's button collection so that is pretty special to me, the little grass and bunny stamps are Morsels Spring/Easter stamp set, the flowering branch is Jolee's Boutique, the bench is Prima (now discontinued). I added a piece of ribbon over the arm to make it look like a little blanket. Also added a little glitter netting (under the key) that I got in the dollar bin at Joann's.
Thank you all so much for taking time to visit my gallery. I appreciate it more than words can say! Hugs, Elizabeth
