I used elements from Prima's Postcards from Paradise, Aquarelle Dreams and The Plant Department, as well as Finnabair products to create this altered brush.
I started by applying white gesso to the entire brush. Once dry, I used a palette knife to apply white crackle over the handle and parts of the bristles.
Once the crackle paste was dry, I used watered down Deep Turquoise Liquid Acrylic to color the brush. I also added this paint to the Mirror Frame mould and to the parrot mould from Postcards from Paradise.
Then I added touches of the Opal Magic Paint to the frame and bird mould. I added the gold Metallique Paint in touches to the Mirror Frame and the the bird's beak, then painted the eye of the bird with black gesso.
Then I dry brushed white gesso over the paintbrush and the mirror frame mould. I painted small streaks of the white gesso over the feathers of the bird and added a little highlight to his eye.
I painted The Plant Department Moulds with Gliding Glue. Once dry, I applied the Gold Metallic Flakes. I also painted the bottoms of some of the Pebbles with the gold Metallique paint.
Once all of the embellishments were dry, I assembled the brush using mostly flowers from Aquarelle dreams, but also 1 or 2 from Postcards, as well as tucking in some ephemera and lace.
I popped on the Pebbles and some Memory Hardware Pearls as a finishing touch.
Thanks for spreading positivity!
