I've created a rustic engagement card for a couple currently living in London. This cool paper from Whimsy Stamps so reminded me of London houses. So this was the start of my design. I've torn the edges of the paper and distressed them with some Distress inks in shades of brown. I also used the same inks to colour the Cracked Leather Cardstock which I've diecut the central greeting from. I've used a Whimsy Stamps die and sentiment set to create this. I backed the little panel with vellum so it stood out better from the background paper, as it's quite a busy pattern. It needed some separation to be more visible. I used a Tim Holtz Deckle Trimmer to cut the vellum edges. I also popped up the panel on thin foam strips to add a little dimension and interest too.

I tied some light weight twine from May Arts around the card two base paper layers before adhering them to the top folding kraft card base. I distressed the kraft base with brown inks too, so it all toned nicely and added to the rustic feel. I finished the design with a sweet paper flower that I embellished the centre of with a little Liquid Pearls, for a soft and elegant finish.
