I actually played with power tools a little. :) I drilled a hole in the bottom of the corks for the hook. I used the 7/8" angled pegboard hook, which are about 1/4" diameter. I used a 5/16" drill bit and only drilled deep enough for the hook to go all the way in. A couple hints: 1) Put a piece of tape of the drill bit to mark where you want to stop drilling, so you don't drill in too far. 2) Use a washer as a template for marking the center of your wine cork.
Another Note: The 1-1/2" angled hooks might work better since they have the extra little piece to help hold the hook in place. I'm probably going to need to use peg locks for the hooks that I have.
Thanks everyone! :::blushing::: 950Nancy....I have oodles of ribbon and will most likely have this thing pretty much filled when I'm done. I'm just waiting for the rest of my pegboard hooks to come in. Oh, and not that I drink that much wine! I went to a local wine tasting place and asked if I could have their used corks. :)
OMG - this might just be my absolute favorite thing I've seen on this site. The combination of two of my favorite things scrapbooking and vino. Again, inspired. I have lots of ribbon though, so I will have to up my drinking. I'll drink to that! cheers
