This is my submission for the March Letters to Me challenge. I decided to scrap the single most important decision of my life-the turning point for sure-and what I would say to my 19-year-old self. I don't know if these are words of wisdom as much as words of encouragement that I so could have used on this day back in 1990.
Journaling reads:
...you will face the most grueling physical, mental, and emotional challenge of your life and there will be times you want to quit, but you will find the strength inside to endure.
...you will meet people from all walks of life and some will cause you great strife, but you will share a bond with some that will last a lifetime.
...you will know uncertainty and fear and question the future and the choices you must make, but you will learn to accept what you cannot control and you will overcome.
...you will travel to places near and far and miss a place called home, but you will realize that home lies in your heart and is with you always.
most of all...you will find out what you're made of and you will not be disappointed!
